Welcome to the second part of The Science Behind Half-Life. In the first part, I looked at the game names and this article looks at some of the weapons.
I’d like to mention that I’m not going to cover all the weapons used in the game, just the ones with science connected to them.
I like a certain level of realism in my gaming but more related to abstract things rather than weapon recoil or other details like that.
For me, it’s more about never having crates in room whose doors are obviously too small to allow a crate to fit through – stuff like that.

You are McGinley, the black mesa warehouse manager. You feel that something is going REALLY wrong, and you were right. As you let the scientist escape by locking the garg by the first door (Press the button), he wants you to check the cargo terminal, but not before you get an HEV Suit, a crowbar and a glock.
You see ALIENS have invaded the area. It’s a good time to put your weapons in action, and mow down the cargo terminal. You make your way through the sewers of black mesa, the surface complex, you get the M16 and vulcan, the train station, the Lambda Complex, the Hangar, a Giant blaster lab, an alien ship, and not surprisingly, Xen.
Hint: If you stay and wait long enough after the credits, you will see (Choose route B) Adrian Shepard, on an abandoned asteroid. (Choose route A) R-A-C-E’s Defat

Your problem: a gonarch. But direct confrontation is not an option. This interesting set of 7 maps lets you puzzle and fight through your mission to make it out alive with the trapped scientist.
The goal is to destroy a monster (Big Momma/Gonarch). Mission is complete if you escape on the train with the scientist alive.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place, Gordon is forced to venture through a dilapidated, hostile environment in order to clear the tram line of an alien infestation.
Offering approximately 15-30 minutes of gameplay, Scylla takes the player through a winding environment full of deadly hazards and enemies. Your performance may alter parts of the level as you progress. Be sure to watch out for special NPCs; not all are obvious.

DOH! I forgot about the chat post and I am 4 days late. Sorry about that.
So far this month, we have had the Source 2 announcement and even the BBC had coverage of Half-Life on its site – YAY!
I’m off on a long weekend trip this weekend to recharge my batteries, fingers crossed it’s sunny.

MyoHyo, the author of the amazing G-String mod, is looking for voice actors to help with the update.
If you have never heard of this mod, it’s a total conversion that takes you to a dystopian future. It’s an incredible piece of work and deserves a wider audience. Released in 2011, many people found it difficult to play and MyoHyo decided to update it.
She is looking for voice actors, but would like older people to apply. There are a few parts available, listed below, and I would very much like the PP community to help her.
