ARH! My eyes. ARH! My ears.

There’s like 3 textures in the whole map and the music made me nervous. The start almost makes you want to close the map immediately and unfortunately it doesn’t get much better.

You move through some very square corridors into some very square rooms and fight some very boring antlions, who sometimes attack and sometimes don’t.

Ultimately, you reach a large cavern with no idea what to do after you have killed the aforementioned antions.

Can anybody tell me where to go?

I was going to say that my recommendation is a MAYBE but I changed my mind. AVOID IT!

  2. Avoid It!

Just, please, no. I can’t genuinely play through this my eyes hurt from the level design, the textures look like a design that was made in MS Paint. Avoid it.

    Avoid It!

I hate to just tear apart a map but there’s no redeeming qualities in this one. It’s humongous, ugly, and just boring. There’s tons of weapons and tons of antlions and tons of green.

And there’s no discernible end. You reach the biggest of several big areas and there’s a guardian waiting. You can kill it but nothing happens. Don’t waste your time on this one.

Well that, that was like a big green crapy almost endless arena.

The setting is just horrible and dark as heck, so I pass this going “matfullbright 1” In order to not to kill my retinas.

Also, the ant-lions as enemies are totally dumb and they are totally useless as enemies because you can entirely avoid combat by shooting at distance.

Then there is no ending sequence. I don’t know if killing the green antlion mother should’ve triggered anything in the map but it didn’t.

I guess the only rescuable thing in this mod is possibly the music and I think even that was very repetitive like be in a loop sound.

Sorry, this is just a big green mess.

  5. Avoid It!

Xenogears 2.5 is not worth your time. There are about 3 or 4 textures being used throughout a map that is way too big. The combat is very dull, there are only 3 enemies (1 of them being a Guardian as a final boss) which will sometimes not even attack you. The optimization is also a huge issue. Why? Because there is no optimization. Type mat_wireframe 3 in the console and you will see that the whole giant map is being drawn at all times.
The music is good, but because it’s on a loop it gets dull really quick.
There is no reason to be playing this.

  6. Avoid It!

poor mapping, terrible textures, badly made lighting on the map everything is done just awful. The author does not know what optimization is.

  7. Maybe?

Ok. Y’all are gonna hate me for this, but I actually enjoyed this map, Sure, it’s a bit confusing since the doors wouldn’t open after I killed all of the antlions, but the music was a banger.

If you got 11 minutes to spare, just download it and check it out. It’s not that

    Score Sheet

Usage of space and world brushes: 3/10
Lots of wasted space here. Hard to see walk ways. I really don’t know what else to say.

    Visuals: 2/10
Repeating textures… uhh.. repeating textures. Hard to see. Really enjoyed the alien theme though.

    Gameplay1/10
There is no gameplay. Run. Shoot. Kill.

    Final Score: 6/30 – 20%.

Final Comments: Music is amazing, but lacking in everything else. HOWEVER. If you have 11 minutes to spare, just check it out. It’s actually the wildest thing I have seen yet.
