Setting/Gameplay
“How funny”, I thought, as I saw the pictures for this map. I played it before some times and it tended to be a good map. Partly not as good as possible (compared to the main look of the map) but it left a good feeling. When filled with enemys, this would be a decent singleplayer map. The script for the events is welldone, mostly fair. Maybe the lightning could have been a bit more dominating in some parts.
Conclusion
Although it’s only showcase, if you are a mapper on your own, you may like to decompile the maps and look for the excellent triggered events to learn from them. May be boring for normal players. It’s like a obstacle course.
Well, I wouldn’t say it’s a showcase. It’s a completely playable map, it just doesn’t have enemies in the normal sense. Your environment is the enemy. Explosions, water rising, radiation. You have to run and jump to make it to the end. I thought it was well done and original.
I think you’re missing the point if you say this map need enemies.
You’ll know it’s over when Freeman gets killed by the lasers in the cutscene…
Not so easy, not too hard, playable. No enemies, no story, short but worth a look.
Very fun, except the final 😉

I absolutely loved this little map. I almost made it a PERSONAL FAVOURITE. However, you should know more. Firstly, there is no combat, which normally means I won’t enjoy a map, but in this case it’s not important.
What happens is a series of “incidents” that you must survive. That’s it. It’s impossible to reach the end without dying at least a few times, but it’s how it is done that I enjoyed.
If this were the start of a mod, I would be so excited to play the rest of it.

Well… this was a deathtrap!
I think its saving grace is that it IS so short, because holy cow that’s a lot of dying as a learning curve. It’s my least favorite aspect of modding (or games in general actually).
If this had been the start of a longer mod, I would hope that it would have been redone to be a lot less death-heavy. I would totally table flip and rage quit 🙂
Some of the areas were pretty fun, and the last little dig actually made me laugh out loud. Worth playing, it’s very short, really hard.

It’s an interesting little map but I died too many times during the playing. I found it a little frustrating in that it isn’t really skill level that saves you but the knowledge you gain from the various times that you die. In that respect I didn’t enjoy it that much as there is no time to explore and try different things. Basically move here in 1 second or die immediately, often without any warning of impending death too. I didn’t really find this one enjoyable, and the ending made no sense either. Maybe if I was a mapper my rating would be higher but for me it’s a maybe.

Design was ok
to much TNT all over everyplace and the fact that you don’t know what amount of health is left is quite furstrating especially close to the end…simply not my cup of thea

Well, I liked the idea of the map, and would be interesting to play a bigger mod out of it, and maybe with a little combat this time on it.
What I liked about this one was that you have to think carefully before you make a move or face death because everything around you is a potential danger on that living trap the facility is. That makes you think out of the box and that is pretty valuable in a mod.
Now what i dislike strongly, and is the basic reason because i give this a PL instead of a PN, it was the end, very silly, frankly stupid and also nothing let you know that’s the end, well, probably the polish language told us it was the end and it was a trap or something like that, but because i don’t know a bit of polish, I really don’t know…

This is a pretty clever and fun enough map, but unfortunately, it’s not for everyone.
First of all, there is no combat, which many people won’t like. Second, the main concept is that you need to avoid a variety of death traps, but you will die a lot trying to avoid those, especially in the elevator part. Some of these can be cheap, but I think that most death traps were very cleverly designed.
However, I didn’t like the ending at all and it’s incredibly short (3-5 mins).
Overall, this is a really clever map and it’s technically good too, but unfortunately, it’s not for everyone. If you don’t like dying a lot in video games, then don’t play this map.
I liked the idea of this map but the execution just wasn’t there. It’s an obstacle course at its heart, but to get through it you have to learn the hard way by trial and lots of error (dying). Be ready with the quicksave and quickload keys for this one.
My main issue with it is that you are almost never given a chance to avoid the obstacles. Even when things around you are shaking and exploding, there’s no way to tell where to avoid next other than guessing and dying if you guessed wrong.
As I said, the idea is good. If nothing else this map was intense and chaotic – but also very frustrating.

It’s… alright. The action comes thick and fast, and you have to avoid explosions, a few death traps and escape. It’ll take you max 5-10 minutes. No combat whatsoever.
Only recommend if you’re bored out of your mind.

Fun map! The map requires some death-and-quickloads but I like the concept and the scripts.
