About
This map was sent in via the old Submit a map page and there are no other details known. If somebody could play it and supply a brief description I would be grateful, as would other PP readers. I suspect it’s just a demo map for some models but I may be wrong.

If FileFront decides to like me today, I’ll give it a whirl.
Okay, maybe not. I’ll try again tomorrow.
Consider yourself very lucky Darth Marsden that Filefront didn’t like you!! “Windmill” is a small 5 level pack that makes absolutely no sense! There is no readme, no storyline, and no fun involved in this. You start out in, what I think, is an amusement park and you are given a handgun, though you can’t see it, but it is there. In each level you’ll find a machine gun mounted in mid-air and after you walk around a small area for alittle while, the walls start to receed and out come a bunch of aliens. So you get behind the gun and try to blow them away….that’s it!! That’s harder than it seems because the gun doesn’t really respond to your controls, so 9 times out of 10 you’ll die and have to start all over again. I only played 3 levels, but that was enough for me!! Who knows, maybe in the last 2 levels things improve, but I guess I just didn’t have the patience to find out!!
Thanks Stubby.. I was looking at this… Sounds like crappy modding..avoiding it.
Windmill is ok.
Weird sounds, bizarre gameplay, really really bad triggers, wont reload a saved game so you have to start again. As if!!!
Second Opinion.
There’s a strange kind of ghostly fairground sample looping in the background while you try to work out what to do. There is a button to press that takes an age to do anything. A door opens. Another wait. Another door opens. “Use” a shooting gallery target. Another wait. A gate opens. Another wait. Shoot the zombies. Next map. Shoot the zombies. Next map, stepping stones. dont save here as it won’t reload. Next map, a windmill. Go through a portal. Shoot the zombies. Re-appear by the windmill. Go through the portal. Re-appear by the windmill. Go through the portal. Re-appear by the windmill….etc.
A strange map, that’s all, just strange.
This mod is like an adolescent going through puberty. It’s strange, it’s different, and it can definitely get on your nerves sometimes.
The first thing you’ll notice is that your “handgun” looks like an umbrella that just got hit by lightning. Then you’ll find a totally random picture of Greek?/Roman? soldiers or something. You flip some switches and enter an amusement park. Wha?
Some triggers require you to pass a very specific point. I manned a machine gun turret and tried to shoot some “invisible” zombies (because I heard noises!). After going through enough bullets to make Rambo jealous, I ran around, and the trigger to raise a platform full of zombies is literally like placed on a single tile in the very corner of the room of where you come in. What the hell.
Triggers are very strangely delayed. Honestly, you’ll flip a switch and find the door opening a good five or so seconds later.
The textures are pretty alright, but they’re all misaligned and out of whack.
Shooting galleries. Random teleports. Awkward map changes and design. A hedge maze. An unsatisfying end.
2/10
Other mods deserve your precious time.
This mostly so with the mounted guns. I don’t think it has anything to do with this mod. I had exactly the same with “Uplink Extended’.
You missed a switch, my friend. There is a proper ending, a black screen with ‘the end” in it, once you enter the windmill.
No save/load problems here, either, not even in the pillar section.
Well, it’s got its flaws, like the slow triggers and such. But in the end it’s a nice puzzlemod, with a typical style.
Th “windmill” by the way also has a waterwheel. So is it a watermill or a windmill? I don’t think they actually have both.
mysterious surreal map with a creepy ambience
Weird map 😀
I was stuck at the plaza
Nice little mod, a little bit pretentious in my opinion, but its ok. Have to use cheats to complete a maze (I hate mazes, sorry).
