Can’t say that I particularly enjoyed this one. Not because it’s badly made or anything, it just didn’t get me excited.
There’s not really much fun putting batteries into sockets to power things up that hasn’t already been done, so most of this felt “Old”, even though the map was made last year.
However, we have to recognize that it was a design and scripting assignment and as such is limited in its objectives.
You may enjoy the 15 minutes of so you get out of it.

i love the name!!!
Not as good as Welcome Holm.
This was decent little map. The puzzles weren’t too difficult, but at least they were better than pushing a button. Once I figured out the mechanics of using the portals it was ok. I did have a problem with things disappearing once I sent them through the portal, so I recommend you do a lot of quicksaves before each portal. It would have been nice to have a little ending for the map though.

I think I broke the map. Here is a demo https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/33279452/daz_vortigauntlet.rar
I took the first battery through the teleporter and it didn’t appear on the other side.
First off, I spent a ton of time trying to get the fan to stop as I thought it was meant to be the first puzzle (reason for my play time being so long). Anyways, I think the puzzles were interesting, however the batteries needing to be passed through the portal so many times felt tedious.
I think the execution of the puzzles felt different enough from one another, but at the same time it was clear they were all part of a large puzzle. You know the goal of the puzzle immediately (to collect all the batteries) and all you need to do is execute on the puzzle. However, battery puzzles feel overused at this point.
Visually I think to did a pretty good job with the feeling of Nova Prospekt although the fan being in a prominent position felt slightly odd. It was also interesting to use the portal and effects from it to move around the different parts of the puzzle.

To me this feels like the typical play it latter recommendation, is just a simple little big puzzle maps, involving batteries, nothing from out of this world really, I guess is the kind of map that you may play in a boring rainy day, the only thing that really challenged me was the fan puzzle and kill a poor ant lion with the Gravgun.
So play it, though nothing else is gonna happen if you don’t play it right away neither…

Nothing really special and the disappearing batteries shouldn’t be tolerated in a mod that depends on them this much! Sometimes they did reappear in their original place, so the maker obviously knew about this issue, but often they did not…
A decent enough map, although things getting lost in transit was aggravating. It took more time figuring out what was what, than it did to execute the steps. The environment and graphics were good. Nothing outstanding, as others have said.

I felt like this map could have been better. The idea of the map is not that bad, and the concept of teleporting into other areas is quite clever. Though, the execution was glitchy, frustrating and short.
The teleporter made this map freaking unbeatable. Teleporting the toasters was really glitchy and sometimes it didn’t even appear on the other side.
Overall, this could be entertaining if you’re bored.
I actually enjoyed this for a simple puzzle map. The one thing it was missing was any decent combat to either break up, or intensify the puzzle gameplay aspect. The puzzles weren’t too difficult overall, but it’s nice to see some degree of actual thinking needed to get through the whole thing.
As others have mentioned though, it is indeed very possible for the teleporters to swallow your batteries. I dunno, maybe they’ll turn up somewhere far beyond Nova Prospect, along with the ill fated cat…
Another issue I encountered was with the door towards the end which needed 3 batteries and then needed to be blocked. I nudged the barrel holding the door in place and slammed in my face, cutting me off from the battery I needed to complete the puzzle. Luckily, I quick save often. Otherwise it would have meant a rather hefty back track I would imagine.
Overall, this wasn’t bad. I wouldn’t be in any rush to replay it, but it was a fun little distraction for 20 minutes.
