“After successfully leading the Uprising against the Combine forces and obliterating the Citadel single-handedly, you have been chosen to be teleported into a strategic missile silo and infiltrate into the base.
Your objective is to trigger yet another reactor explosion that will destroy the valuable generators inside the missile base. This is a relatively short map that takes less than ten minutes to finish. It is adapted from dm_vertico and its main purpose is to orient a new player to this multiplayer map.”

Difficult at first, as you’re plunged into the thick of things with no weapons, but once you’ve managed to grab a machine gun you’re in for a treat. Puzzling layout and a good mix of enemies make it an enjoyable experience. I recommend others download it.
It’s sure that for a map based on a mp one it was quite enjoyable
got the bsp, should it be in source mods or?cant seem to load the game
It goes in the C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\username\half-life 2\hl2\maps
Then run HL2 and open the console and type map sp_vertico.bsp
thank you,i’ll get the hang of this someday
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\(myusername)\half-life 2\hl2\maps\sp_vertico.bsp
Anyone know why I still get “Unknown command” in the console?
Sorry, typed just “sp_vertico.bsp” and not “map sp_vertico.bsp”. Got it now.
This map got me wondering, how easy is it for a developer to convert a DM map to a SP one? How come we don’t see more conversions of classic multiplayer maps?
An enjoyable and interesting map, layout and set design different and somewhat unusual with tiered inner and outer floor levels constructed to form a somewhat complex but clever progression. Combat throughout was good but with the amount of goodies available somewhat on the easy side. I like the start which made you sit up and be alert from the off, so grabbing the player’s attention and sharpening one’s wits for the following encounters. I few negative points were one; the luck of lighting to the sets, I guess it’s an age issue with me. The second and last issue being the none-constructed ending to the game, I don’t think an advert for mp site counts has a constructed ending, although I have no problem with its inclusion. The map is short and will not take the average player like me long to complete, you may actually spend more time going over old ground looking for missed content then you did in completing the game. Let’s hope the authors put their skills to more sp maps and give us more of the same.
