As part of the The Replay Experience Experiment, here is the first of a number of podcasts, discussing one of the game we have played.
In this case, it’s Half-life. Joining me for this one is Don and Emo. Don is a modder with tremendous experience and has released a number of mods/maps including, Radix. Emo is from Russia and has made Typical Disaster.
We discuss Half-Life from a number of different aspects. There are a couple of videos mentioned in the podcast and they can be found on the Resources & Curiosities.
Both Don and Emo have agreed to respond to any comments you may make, and of course I will too.
This post is part of the The Replay Experience Experiment 2012 event. This is a chance to replay all the Half-Life games and discuss them based on our experiences since we first played them.

Who is Don in the TREE, Unq?
I wouldn’t say it’s a big deal to notice a crab needs 2 crowbars in hl1. If you play hl2 mods at the same time or for a long time yet, you know it takes 1 crowbar whoosh to kill a headrab on Medium. And that habit is broken when going back to hl1 so you learn the figure 2 the hardway 😀
Min 45, Emo says he didn’t know another way down except sliding on the pipes in “on a cliff”, well he should watch William’s playthrough(s). I knew about those 2 paths but overall I discovered a great deal of other alternate paths.
Great interview, I really enjoyed it and it made me answer the questions myself, enhancing the overall experience even more!
Yep that’s me. Phillip usually introduces me as Don AKA Unq, but not this time.
If I knew you had such lovely voice I would have engaged you more instead of deleting 😀
So when are you going to stop being a wall-flower and join the dance?
lol
I meant I related to most of the stuff… we already had a disagreement about this and decided we don’t work well together?
I would join a podcast, but I am 14 years old and my voice isn’t the most pleasant in the world.
I know this is incredibly old but could you put up a download link for the podcast?
I want to give it a listen but I prefer to listen to podcasts when I am out and about and not necessarily able to access the internet. Thanks!
Done. Enjoy (I hope!)
It worked perfectly! I was able do get the podcast on to my ipod and I listened to it while I did some homework. I did, in fact, enjoy it and I would like to ask that, if its not too much trouble, you could make this a standard thing for all your podcasts, old and new, as I would love to listen to more of these. If not that’s fine I can work around that it would just be nice.
