  1. Another short map (10 min) with some challenge (small) with combats and little puzzle. Sadly it seems that nearly all the map is made with the same texture and no real intersing fill in

  2. Phillip says Maybe

This has some interesting ideas but like many maps form 2005/2006, it’s more about experimentation than implementation. What I mean by that is that the map seems more like a collection of individual ideas rather than a planned whole.

The textures and lighting are pretty boring and the combat could have been much for more.

All in all, a very basic release that you should only play if you have nothing better to do for 5 minutes.

  3. Play It Later

Got through the play fairly quickly. What was there was good, but would have liked to see more. Ended kind of suddenly with no real explanation other than “You Win”. I’ll wait to see if there is a continuation before playing it again.

    Avoid It!

Not really worth playing. It’s straightforward combat, and I really mean straight and forward. It’s completely linear and you’re running in a line for half the map. Enemies are just sitting around waiting for you to enter the room, so kill them and repeat until you reach the end where “You Win”.

There’s nothing clever or interesting about this map. Spend your time elsewhere.

  5. Maybe?

You can see that Tinje is an old map. The level design is very basic and straightforward, like most maps in those years.
You start off in an area where you need to go through a vent. Then you fall into an area with one combine soldier who will shoot at you even though you don’t have a weapon, you need to quickly grab one from one of the tables. There is alot of straightforward combat, and there was one area which contained a bit too much combine for my liking. It also ends pretty weird with a wall with the text “You Win” on it.

    Play It Later

You know, call me crazy or whatever, but I actually don’t think this was pure absolute crap.

I liked how the map was in line with this very “old-school” mapping layout, and I think the part where you have to do a huge jump to the water was quite cool. I felt it very nostalgic of those HL1 map arenas.

Yeah the combat is linear as hell and it wasn’t too challenging, and it was like shooting fish in a barrel. But the combat can be set in a strategic way to not go with it just plain boring.

Yeah so for me this is an OK 5 minute Play it Later.

  7. Maybe?

It’s been a cool experience. Even how linear and running based map this is, I guess all of them were in 2005. It’s clearly a test to check the proprieties of stuff and physics.
6/10 would like to drop from a giant hole and then mauled by green shotgun elites again.

  8. Play It Now!

This is flawed as heck but gosh darn if I don’t love it. It’s reminiscent of a lot of those classic HL1 corridor style maps, and I would not be surprised if the mapper was around for that era of HL1 mapping. You can also tell that the mapper had fun with this map. As a mapper myself, It’s so hard to remember to put that element of fun and excitement into my maps, and this really takes me back to when I was but a small girl picking up Hammer for the first time and having a blast with it.

  9. Think Twice

Like chewed bubble gum. Flavor dies quickly and needs to be spit out.

  10. Think Twice

There is nothing interesting on this map. Feel free to skip.

  11. Maybe?

It’s fine for 10 minutes but outside of that it’s pretty meh
