  1. Phillip says Play It!

Very short but very sweet. I didn’t quite like the lighting, too much contrast for my liking.

Anyway, the gameplay is more about exploration than combat or puzzle, but I see this piece as more of a portfolio piece than anything else.

That said, it might even have replay value.

Definitely worth your time, as long as you are not expecting a fragfest.

    But… why….

You go to all that trouble of building a few rooms and a very nicely detailed outdoor section for what?

Would very much like the author to go back and add a few NPC’s in the indoor sections and give the player a HEV suit and a hand gun…

It’s a shame to waste some fairly well detailed rooms.

I’d recommend people play this only if they’re looking for a good example of an outdoor area done well.

    1. Yeah, I hear what you are saying, but not all mappers are doing it for the same action-orientated result. I agree though, a HEV and some more action would have made it even better.

  3. Play It Now!

A very short, but gorgeous and well-made map. Sad, though!

The interiors as well as exteriors are really nicely designed. I wish I could explore a little more, it felt like the start of something much bigger.

It’s a nice change from all the fighting, I’ll admit, but I do agree it’d be nice to see something more made from this than just a tiny snippet of story. 🙂

Thanks you all for comments. I appreciate that! 🙂

Main idea of map was just a nice design and some story.

  6. Play It Now!

What a great start to going back to reviewing maps and mods here at PP.

Definitely a well-designed map, and it’s really more about explorations and puzzle here. I think that it builds up for something really big… that never truly appears.

It’s like if someone showed you a big cake, but said you’d be only eating 0.01% of the cake. Sad, yes. But at least the cake looks and feels good.

I’m going too metaphorical here, but, yeah, play it, but don’t go in expecting too much.

  7. Play It Later

it was an interesting map; I had some problems with a couple of wooden palettes which really blocked my path and caused me to do some awkward crouching and jumping to get pass. the second of which caused me to think that I was going the wrong.

  8. Play It Now!

I’ve been struggling with “CSS SCI FI: HARDWIRED” which is amazingly brilliant and hard; even on easy! So this little mod was a relief.
Very atmospheric and peaceful but I felt quite naked! I mean, no HEV suite or a crowbar, stick or anything threatening as you wander some very dark places. The sewers present a challenge without lights and flares do not burn long enough unless you move quickly. It took a few replays to figure this out. But red lights are placed at a few points to guide you and the goo is not so deadly to the odd splosh!
Surviving the firefight proved very difficult and was far too intense for an un-armoured explorer like me! It took a few trys to figure this one out without resorting to the console.
So I finally survived to the ending and what a reward!J
Very nice little mod and an interesting little story as well. A tad more real I think…………

    Play It Later

Nah I don’t like this very much, I don’t know maybe because it was the first Source thing I played after Pure Half Life mods experiences along the 100 DoN, I found the begining of this one a little bit complicated and too darky fopr source engine, once u get out of the darky sewers, there’s really confort shiny sunlight all peeking trough that warehouse industrial place, so thas cool, and I felt it into a really subtle modding art category but inside the HL world, so I think it fit perfect there, the combat i’d say clever, but the main wieight of this mod is I think the feeling, this mod appears to talk and tell you: Hey stop rushing for blody combat and enjoy walk through this woods HL scenario!!!!!, I think that’s the feeling, the end is sad, and a little bit wierd, but I like to think that I was an old and tired ressistence member that give a last sacrifice to free the earth of the CMB anihilation, so I think the right word for this mod is SUBTLE, and definitely is worthy to play it, but I don’t know still it feels like it doesen’t get a PN rate, becasue is an ok mod to have a little break of all that Hl mayhem wer’e used to…

  10. Maybe?

didn’t care much for this, having to stumble over, crouch, jump just because some junk is in the way. I guess if you took the perfect sewer route the flares helped but I tried exploring that large area for nothing, and any arrows on the wall actually point the wrong direction. The outside area certainly does look nice but………………….

  11. Maybe?

The outside scenery is nice, but the walk through the sewers dark and boring, the (short) combat without HEV suit feels odd and the end of this extremely short map comes very abrupt.

  12. Think Twice

Looks ok. Hardly worth the bother it’s so short.
