“Krieger starts at the military compound and must retrieve the stolen technology from this militant faction and get back to the point of extraction before enemy soldiers capture him.”
“This level is all about using your tactical strategy to take out the enemies in a quick and precise manner. Think MacGuyver meets Demolition Man! Some examples are as follows:
- TNT explosives being used in strategic locations
- Building shrapnel and nail bombs
- The military compound gives the feel of cold war Russia
- The technology unit will be given the science fiction feel like in Demolition Man
“Everything in the map will give way to the cold war Russia look, drab and dark. The idea of confinement and oppression is strong to make the player feel as though he is behind enemy lines and being caught is certain death.”

I’m not writing a full review of this map becasue I got stuck after about ten minutes of play and had to cheat to take the screenshots. It’s another Guidhall map and looks like it could have been really interesting.
Unfortunately I really dislike dark maps and felt that right from the start the technical errors were annoying me. I don’t know if I am in a bad mood as I write this and I am putting my frustration into the map but basically I hated it.
It’s possibly a good map but not for me today!
I got stuck also, I had to cheat my way through the rest, and it took me a while to figure out where to go anyways. Im not sure if it was a bug or if I just couldn’t figure out what in the world I was supposed to do.
There was a story to it, which can’t be said about most mods, but it wasn’t that imaginative.
I had to turn the brightness all the way up in order to see what I was doing and the mapping was pretty bad in general.
I don’t like to give bad reviews, but this just isn’t that good.
Where did you guys get stuck?
Just played through it, very average in pretty much every aspect. Good if you want to kill off 10 minutes or so.
Right after the conveor belt, there’s a door where you blow the first console, replayed it and it worked, not sure why id didn’t the first time. The scene where the guy gets killed didnt work the first time ether…
Well, I’m stuck there to. The end of the conveyer belt , and the wo APK’s. Doors won’t open, and can’t be blown. Don’t see a console anywhere. There’s something like a fusebox, but it won’t blow either.
It’s graphically unattractive, this map. The gameplay is boring and unclear. An example: You get a message onscreen that you better blow up the explosive barrels. But you don’t find out till later what for. Because the troopers you kill with it are behind the wall, that they roll under…
Go back across the conveyor and into the steel door at the other end.Blow the console with a grenade.Go back the door will open. Its not the standard blue screen consoles either. The ones with yellowish red glow that stand on the floor.
too hard, too dark, nothing interesting…
This post includes spoilers.
Not a bad game once you work out what is needed to progress, which is; SPOILERS; open the wide corrugated doors and blow up the consoles.
Set design is a bit unique but on the dark and tight side with Combine well positioned and hard to hit. Not a classic map and has it stands a shallow plot with not much to hold the players interest. Too much wandering around in dim light trying to figure out what’s needed to progress.
Too dark alright. Its basic, a few buttons, gates to open, bases to blow. Combines to kill. Its not too hard. Just a machinery in the middle of the map makes it more … annoying. It wasnt really necessary. But w/e. (the one you get smashed). Not bad.5 word review:
Oh my that was close
I actually liked this mod. It was dark, but I retrieved the artifact without problems. After that I had to noclip and turn on the lights to see where I was supposed to go.
Nothing special, but it is always fun to kill snipers.
If you get stuck like I did, you need to read the comments by andyb and mel.
I hated the early part of this. Dark, dire and with dreadful continuous spawning of overhead Combine in the APC parking area.
Path finding was frustrating in the extreme. I actually got quite angry at one point and darned nearly threw in the towel.
Glad I didn’t.
Once you meet the Antlion Guard and onwards. Loved it.
Some good combat finished off with a boss fight.
Mostly hard work, not play.
Good looking map. Plays good once you understand which console style they want you to blow up with a grenade. It’s a desk style console. Once you figure out what style, they are all the same. Worth a couple play throughs. In the area with the APC’s they seem to respawn above so don’t waste time killing them all just kill the ones there then get to the next door.
