You arrive at one of the Black Mesa sectors by aircraft and due to technical problems you need to descend to the lower levels via ladders and elevators.
Part way down, the base is attacked and your only way out is back the way you came.
Can you reach the aircraft again and thence to freedom?

This map is ten years old. Think about that for a moment. TEN YEARS! Pretty cool really, to think that we can still have fun with something, which in gaming terms is almost ancient.
I have to admit that the map didn’t run very smoothly at first, but that might not have been the map’s fault.
The layout and design is complex enough to not make it feel like a lot of corridors, but not so much that you get lost.
I found this map quite hard, with very little health and the only ammo, until the very end, from the dead soldiers.
The final battle was too easy and over too quickly, but all in all it’;s a neat little map that will give you your HL fix for today.

single map where you descend (or rather, meant to descend) a science complex only to find soldiers ambushed the place and you have to backtrack out to escape.
Wow! this map is really cool, actually almost brilliant!, if would have been a little bit longer then I probably rate in PF recomm.
Now let me say, this little cool mod must be an obligated lesson to all HL1 mappers who are trying to do something short but neat, here we have a great quality for just one map, the transitions between places are smooth and the whole little complex it has a great style and design.
Quality are in many little details, and let me say this mod surprised me, because, it is Russian and almost always Russian maps or mods are quite weird and not so good in quality terms, this is probably one of the best Russian mods available.
Now the combat was short but really sweet, this is also a lesson for how to do short close combat maps. you get ammo as you kill the grunts so the whole thing feels like in a really cool rush, the atmosphere and environment for the mod just fits perfect. And also combat in this mod feels like a real challenge if you attempt to play it in HARD.
Well over all play it as is a nice little jewel, tough as I said I’d love to play longer maps maybe 2 or 4 more with this quality. Hope the developer has some more cool maps on his portfolio!

I have technical problems geting this map to run (pun intended ;)). Using an old WON installation of HL 1.1.1.0 it gives me a SV_StartSound: volume = 510 error!
Sorry, but I only tested this on a standard Steam installation.
Google has a number of results for this error. It is very fixable.
The gist of it is that you need to turn down your HEV Suit volume:

Argh, I forgot to check Google. Didn’t guess it was such a common error! Nice little map, great unfinished looking levels but otherwise nothing special…
Indeed an interesting map pack back then when I recommended it I thought it might be a “Think twice” or “maybe” mod but as it turns out it did indeed offered some fun after all and with the exception of the rocks the mapping and light usage were actually ok.
The fights were interesting as well and I must have died only like 7 times before I played it through. The map pack is with 10 to 20 minutes rather short but never the less entertaining. One Russian custom voice line which I didn’t understand rounded it up.. Unfortunately you only get to fight Marines but no Aliens. Still all in all a nice little pack for the lunch break.
Play it later…

Did you see these titles after long fading to black:
“You are still here? 😉
Xex, so look for some secret on map.
It is near Control Room, Happy Search!:)”
And another interesting fact is that one of the authors was Ioann Andreev – the author of http://www.City17.ru.
The custom Russian voice line can be translating approximately as:”The laboratory has been captured by soldiers” and something else.

I haven’t played anything for a while and this was exactly what I needed. This map is a short and sweet, go in-get out mission. Combat is against grunts and the occasional scripted scene is sprinkled in for good measure. As Phillip mentioned the shortage of health and ammo is a refreshing challenge in this situation.
Apart from some dodgy looking cliffs in the opening area and some unintelligible voice acting, there is nothing to find fault with. Then again I don’t think that the map does enough to deserve a Play it Now, but still definitely worth playing.

This map is barely feasible on hard. Enemy placement is infamous, too few munitions to deal with the numerous enemies (especially in the beginning). map design seemed fine, could have been so much more.

Can’t play. Shortly after starting new game, get a “Fatal Error – SV_StartSound ‘510’
Disregard the previous message. If I was patient enough I would have read the HEV Suit Volume fix solution above. Thanks.
Not a bad little map here. Enter the base, things go awry, exit the base.
The mapping is passable and there are a few clever touches about. I also liked the backtracking after the incident, with things changed around a bit.
I did like the challenge in this map. It was decently tough on medium, mainly due to the scarcity of health (and the scientists won’t heal you), the tight quarters, and the limited weapons (9mm and mp5). The end battle was a letdown, especially since the Apache just spun around in a single spot.
It’s not groundbreaking but if you’re looking for a decent diversion for 15 minutes, go for it.

“Did you see these titles after long fading to black:

Has anyone found this secret?
I don’t think I have.
This mod isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. It’s actually great.
There aren’t many things wrong with it imo. It’s a bit uninspired I guess, but for HL1 modding, this word doesn’t exist (and for good reason). The mapping is really good and it has a nice “under-construction” feeling that’s great. The combat is nice, however it consists mostly of HECU soldiers. The last fight was really disappointing, I have to say. It was way too easy and way too quick imo.
Overall, you should definitely play this mod. It’s fun, challenging and really well made.
Not enough ammo, you can get stuck in the water section if you miss a trigger. It needed a little more time in the oven and some playtesting.
Technical Problems is a first release for the small team that is LetKyx Productions, presumably from Russia. Normally foreign releases are rife with…shall we say non-translated in-game text, but fortunately there’s actually some English in here. This map doesn’t feature text though as it uses voiceovers instead, but a little English is in there (one line of speech excepted).
As might be expected, the ASCII characters in the Readme file aren’t anything anyone would understand anymore due to their lack of encoding anything other than English, so there very well could be a story for this map, or not. Regardless, progression doesn’t make much sense in this map – you start inside an Osprey as it lands, descend into a Black Mesa sci-lab base, and halfway down an elevator ride some minutes in, things go amok and you essentially return to that same Osprey, and then, game over. Whatever story that could explain this turn of events is bizarre for sure.
Not that this matters much anyway, since gameplay has its own quirks. A typical gruntfest so it’s really nothing we haven’t seen before, but half of the map (about 5 minutes worth) is “sight-seeing” like Half-Life’s first few maps were (up to “Unforeseen Consequences”), and the other half (also about 5 minutes), the gruntfest. Combat is brutal on Difficult; only sadistic types need apply. Easy may be preferred over Medium since a number of encounters do involve multiple Marines in small spaces, but fortunately the shotgun-toting models are absent. And you will have to clobber the first Marine with the crowbar to get the MP5 unless you’re quick enough to nab a dead Barney’s pistol (and good luck with that). That aside, combat is a challenging affair and includes some inspired moments, like copies of Half-Life: Uplink’s trademark door-torching and wired-detonation sequences. You know what I’m talking about. And there are nods to two different set-pieces from “Surface Tension” that are nicely pulled off, the ending being one of them to finish up with a bang.
As the screenshots show, level design is somewhat solid and incorporates multiple design elements, borrowing liberally from certain parts of Half-Life. Nothing new, but it all transitions well enough (if not entirely cohesively) and there are sparks of originality too. Good attention to detail, variety, and texturing, as nothing looks particularly plain, garish, or out-of-place otherwise. Overall this map has few technical problems (heh) and it plays decently too. A worthy download and a fine first release for this team.
Good mapping and a little tough battles.

Not bad. The level design sure feels claustrophobic. The combat is basically a gruntfest, but not too hard. My only issue here is why is the game so loud, it causes some earrapes. But I guess that’s just me.
