Very wonderful mod. but its in checz language. It’s similar to they hunger.

I can’t get out of the meat factory!
How do you get out of the part where you find the sheriff guy in the meat factory? The part where all the zombies break through the door and you have to break the support beam and make the cieling fall. I thought I’d have to go through that place in the floor in the closet but the floor won’t open. WHY DO ALL MODS HATE AND TORTURE ME IN SOME WAY!

Anyone else have problems with there being no keyboard options? When the game starts all I can do is mouse look and the flashlight for some reason, can’t move at all.
When I go into options, the keyboard part is blank.
Is it because I’m using steam?
Only works the old way?

I found out the problem, it doesn’t work for Steam. Worked fine with Cd.
Can someone please help me? I’m stuck in the first part & seem to be going around in circles through the tunnels & water. Where am I suppose to go?
Once you break the screen to go to the tunnels there are 2 ways to go.If you go through and break the farthest screen you will see a box/cable wired to a wall to blow up.Go back to the other screen and go through and look for the plunger to fit the box to blow the wall up.
Hey sweet andyb. I’m looking for that box/cable wired to the wall but I can’t for the life of me find it. I have the explosives. The farthest grate leads me to an empty area filled with deep water.
Go to the farthest gate and swim across to the small cave like opening.

What does it mean when it tells me that it can’t load the dll engine?
i too am stuck in the meat factory with walker. I have done battle and gotten into the restroom. but I don’t think breaking the beam is the way out. oh, some help, hint, clue, anything to help me survive. thanks.
i ain’t meat no more was very tricky the way out. now I am surviving further along in the catacombs… boohahaha <- spookie laugh. hehe
map 17. does it end? killed all that could be killed. guess thats that. any hints anyone? either way I survived, now off to survive part 2. hehe

I found out the problem, it doesn’t work for Steam. Worked fine with Cd.

It worked for steam when I played it, but it would crash once and a wile and I couldn’t costimize the controls or else I wouldn’t be able to move, which kind of sucked because the mouse sensitivity was low.
PS good mod but you could atleast have english subtitles to know what’s going on.
i played it via steam. had no troubles. I do use the default keys though.

Hi. I’m stuck in levels sic4/5. It’s just after the catacombs. There’s an open area with 3 houses. One of them has a coal cellar. There’s a gastank, which explodes when you shoot it. But the wooden fence behind it doesn’t break. There’s also a little tunnel through the rock which leads to sic5. That’s a small area with a security door. So how do I go on? Anybody remember?
Disregard this, I have found it.
But now i’m stuck in sic16b. The maze. It’s not even that big, but all corridors end in a wall or a closed unbreakable grating. There’s a pit, but it’s so deep, you can’t possibly survive the fall. Is there a switch somewhere, for one of the gates?

All I need is to get out of the maze. This thing is pretty easy most of the time. But I can’t find my way out of this maze. Thank you..
If you look at the readme and how the maps are connected, you don;t need 16b, you can get to the next one directly, I think.

Luckily the mod came with some saves so I didn’t have to play the entire mod to answer this, hope it’s ok.
I didn’t see that deep pit in the maze, all I did was shoot that barrel.. it explodes and makes a hole in the roof. Just use 2 crates, climb up and you’re back in map 16 and that explains the readme.

No problem, I just wanted you to know why I didn’t answer quickly and to ask you not to give up that easy, you’ll have a lot more satisfaction when you get the answer by yourself, trust me 🙂

Well, Ade, I have tried to use your answer but I can’t see it. There are no vats or crates in my maze. I’ve even restarted from an autosave on sic16. So are they somewhere else?
Another thing is that even while you go from 16 to 16b to 16 again, I don’t think you can skip 16b. Or even just the maze. You get there through a hole in the floor. You can avoid the hole if you want, but then the ceiling collapse and you can’t go on. So you still have to go in the hole, I think…
The fact that I can’t see crates or vats, and you can’t see the deep pit makes me think you’re talking about another map..
So let me recuperate. I’m in 16, going through a winding corridor, then map change to 16b. Still in a corridor. I fall through the floor. Even if I don’t, the ceiling collapses and the hole is the only way to go on. I fall in a cellar with two bullsquids. There’s a door out of the cellar into a maze. Zombies and headcrabs. There’s about four closed grated doors, and two or three dead ends, and a deep pit in the maze. You can jump over the pit, but that just leads to another closed door. No crates or vats.
As you exit the cellar with the bullsquids, you pass a closed grate with a crab on the right. Take the next right and just break the wall that looks broken already. This way, I noticed that a grate which was closed before has now opened (somewhere at then end of the hall with the pit) so you can now reach the room I was talking about (with the exploding barrel).

That’s it, that’s what I missed. The crack in the wall. From there, I finished it. So now I give my opinion. I think it’s a good mod. It’s original, it plays well, most of the time the puzzles are not too hard. There is no real fighting, just zombieshooting, but okay, it’s a horror mod. Architecture, graphics and atmosphere are good. It’s a pity there was no translation available. It would have been better with a comprehensible story. But you don’t need it to play, it’s quite linear. So, no surprise I give it a:
well, I got stuck at sic 3, where I’m supposed to detonate some wall, but the detonator doesn’t work.. (kinda getting sick of things that don’t work the way they’re supposed to)
I just wish there was more action in this zombie world, because once you get the hang of the new enemies, it isn’t that scary or original and fun to play any more..
From what I’ve played, I liked the architecture the most, but haven’t finished it (so I won’t be rating it) and probably never will, nothing’s calling me back, so, just Consider it.

This is a great mod. Why isn’t it so well known?
The description implies it’s a survival horror mod and the visuals do a great job presenting that. However, the gameplay does not. There was way too much ammo and way too many guns. Apart from that, the combat is mostly very fun and the enemies are well placed. Also, this mod is in Czech, so most people (like me) get really pissed off. The mapping is great, but there were a lot of big rooms that could have something interesting in them, but they don’t. The environments are just great. From the catacombs, to the city, to the sewers, the atmosphere is generally pretty spooky and very well done.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this mod. If you’re a fan of zombie films or games, then this one is definitely for you.
Hm, like some people I’m finding that I have *no* keyboard options – cannot edit keys, they simply don’t exist. Obviously the option for playing without steam doesn’t exist for me, what should I do to get the keys going? Just restart a couple times? I tried launching the game under Training Room and got a completely different introduction (guy going through the graveyard and lots of Czech text) but then the game just didn’t progress. Started again at Normal and got a guy speaking the same dialog as the text would show, but had the images to go with it. When it loaded the old graveyard map, I had no controls. Didn’t even get that far in the Training Room version, but I loaded noclip up and *found* the graveyard. Nothing was triggered correctly though.
Should I just keep retrying?
This mod is pretty much a “They Hunger” wanna be, though it’s not on a par with the original Neil Manke’s masterpiece.
To describe this mod as a survival horror would be very inaccurate. I would call it a “Horror themed zombie gibing simulator”, and I loved every minute of it. The sound design is great, the effects like explosions and fire are epic for the goldsource engine (the most satisfying explosions I have ever seen in HL mods). There is also plenty of new models/skins, tons of different kinds of zombies, they are low-poly (about on par with the original half-life models), but in this case I would take quantity over quality any day.
It has its flaws, a lot of the maps are suffering from a lack of detail (the author was making this for a competition in one Czech gaming magazine, I think he had a deadline so the maps suffered a bit…). But the atmosphere and plenty of dark, but kind of funny, moments (like a guy hanging on a hook screaming with a zombie just chilling under him licking the blood or god rays in church insta-killing zombies, and the meat factory was just hilarious overall…). I don’t know if it was the authors intention (but I think that at least partially it was), but this plays like some kind of torture porn parody, and as I said, I loved every minute of this mod, so “personal favourite” it is.
I can see how the Czech can be a bit off putting, but most of the time the messages don’t have anything to do with the gameplay (a few exceptions, like a note telling you that you need to destroy the church bell to get into the catacombs) and I don’t think anyone would get stuck here for too long. Also I don’t think that comparison with They Hunger is fair to this mod – they have the same theme, but the gameplay is very different (survival horror vs “zombie gibing simulator”).
