This is a really nice piece of work and the attention to detail is a lesson to all.

There were a couple of very little things that annoyed me. The wooden planks across some doors that couldn’t be opened and a few invisible walls, but all in all this is highly recommended.

  2. Personal Favourite

    Wonderful! Just wonderful!
I really enjoyed the artstyle and the mapping work, everything fit right into the theme and the situation.
Many nice details and touches, the maker really put some hard work into this – Congratulations.
Sometimes it was a bit too dark, even with the flashlight, and the soundscape was sometimes a bit bland, but besides that, this is a wonderful portfoilio piece!
You really managed to hit the right theme for the destroyed City 17!
I hope to see more of you in the future!

Fantastic attention to detail, this pretty much sets the bar for what City 17 themed maps should look like these days.

It’s short, and has some inconsistencies (which Phillip already mentioned) which are the only real criticisms I have of it. Definitely worth a look!

  4. Play It Now!

A short enjoyable experience with great atmosphere
just pointing out this overlightning that shines through windows… a taste of ‘the day after’

  5. Play It Now!

This is more like it ….. back to the good old city 17 with some good old combine beating …. serious though this is a extremely well made map and visually is spot on
the attention to detail is excellent with each room meticulously created … and theres no problem with light ( which has been a issue with previous maps )
I installed this manually since theres no map tap download anymore .. everytime I tried to download it you were redirected to a broken link … can anyone help me with this ( I reinstalled windows and I deleted my previous download of map tap )
street struck has to be the best map this year so far and for that reason ive given it a play it now !

    Play It Now!

At the beginning I get “Node graph out of date message’.
What I really loved at this mod was the combine walls moving and eating away at the city, I haven’t seen those in a long time! The only mod they were featured in was probably ‘missing Information” which featured Valve maps, so bravo 🙂 And this mod also uses the old and removed scanners.
Uhm it’s snowing inside buildings and in the last fight scene I am randomly burning for no reason.
The fighting is ok, progression also good and simple, and it’s obvious its main attraction are the visuals in the first outdoor area which PP took a lot of screenies of, but when in game, with being attacked and the music going and all I just felt I was rushed through it and didn’t really soak it in.
Good job nonetheless, it’s a PIN just for dem metal walls!

  7. Play It Now!

Short but sweet, this is a nice little slice of City 17 with a great visual style. The interiors and streets are incredibly detailed and it makes a really good use of all the assets available. I aspire to have areas this attractive in my own maps. The only odd things with the visuals were that I thought the falling ash effect was really overdone and the fake HDR glows on some of the windows were a little silly. Other than that the combat is pretty nice and as I said the graphics are really fantastic. Just don’t expect something huge.

PS Phillip, the author link is broken.

  8. Play It Now!

Reminding one of Ep1, with the same type of sky color and enviroment and sound effects, “Street Stuck” is 10 minutes of good gameplay and great atmosphere.

    Brain: Hey, Master74…
    Me: What?
Brain: Do you see that link over there?
    Me: Yeah, what about it?
Brain: Click on it and download the map NOW!!
    Me: Sir, yes sir.

    🙂

  10. Personal Favourite

This is a small portion of City17 action in a single map. A city that is now ruined and dark, sometimes a little too dark and has too many snipers in it! I really hate snipers and because of my new keyboard, my movements are worse than usual. My left hand fingers keep looking for keys in the wrong places!
This had a nice tight action level and I got through it with only two red screens. My fingers lost the forward button as I manoeuvred into the snipers easiest shot of the day for the first one. And for the second; I fired rocket into unseen scenery in front of me trying to snipe the second sniper! And then it was over. A short slice of good mapping and gaming fun!

Great Map! Elegant and straight forward. It was a pleasure to play through. This map was well crafted and visually interesting. My only complaint might be that the window glare in the apartment hallway was a little intense. (The sun doesn’t shine that bright in City 17) It certainly did not wreck the experience for me. Great Job. I wish any map I attempted to make looked or worked 1000th as well as yours.

  12. Very good map

  13. Play It Now!

This really created and captured a sinister mood, and more than most, it was such a letdown to see it end so soon!

    Play It Now!

Wow! This was a short entretaining combat trip that ozzes quality in the whole map, I actually spend more time, because I was exploring the spots in the whole map.

This map brings with a powerful feeling of city-combat environment, which I think is more and more put a side from the mappers, I mean cities in HL2 universe are a great combat scenario which many modders are just ignoring. Maybe a Planet Phillip City combat competition would come handy in order to play great city combat maps.

I really would love to play more of this, and this little great map, was just a tremendous tease I would love to see more maps from this author because the quality is great, I mean the illumination, the combat is perfect well placed in the right time, and the little hints are clever, like that one where you have to kill the 1st sniper.

I really loved this map, and I think you should play it now, so go on and get it.

The only low point oof this maps, is that it was just one map, but i’d have loved to play maybe 5 or 6 maps like that one, tough I know it would have required lot more of time to create them.

  15. Play It Now!

This map is really good. It has amazing detail, especially after the previous mod I played which had (mostly) terrible C17 levels (Infiltration). There are a lot of unbreakable wooden planks and unopenable doors which was kind of bothersome but other than that this map is great. Very short, but great. It says it’s just a demo in the text file so I’ll be looking forward to its actual release if it gets one. There’s really not much to say about it though, it’s a brief fight through some combine, a few zombies and Shield Scanners and two snipers. It was fun and well detailed, so I recommend it.

  17. Play It Now!

Other than being too dark in places, I only had one issue with this map. Just one. It’s too darn short!!! After completing it, I just wanted more!! It’s absolutely excellent. Doesn’t need to be harder, just lighter in places and then moooooooooore! Superb map.

  18. Play It Later

The visuals are great. It replicates the visual style of City 17 perfectly.
It falls short in the gameplay though. It really is just standard Half-Life 2.
The combat sequence where you open the double doors felt a bit off. Like you should have been able to take care of the Soldier up in the building before the Shotgunner suddenly is up in your face.

Only thing shaving off the fifth star is the pretty standard gameplay.

  19. Play It Later

The visuals! They are amazing! They really make City 17 feel more alive, as the creator set out to do.
The gameplay is not as good as the visuals, though. It’s standard and sometimes below that, but since the mod is so short I don’t believe you will die or come close to death.
Overall, this is definitely worth a play if you love seeing beautiful visuals.

  20. Personal Favourite

One of the best maps Ive ever played. well-designed map with good balance and a few simple but cool battles.

    Definitely have to be played.

  21. Play It Now!

    Awesome visual!

  22. Play It Now!

Looks great. Plays good. Three tough areas but short.

  23. Play It Now!

Not a bad map, atmosphere has Episode 1 style, combat is fair but wow never expected this to be short. Still it is worth a play

Street Stuck by Robert Cardona AKA Spas12

This being the first map I played today, I really enjoyed this one greatly. The level design is amazing.

    Score Sheet

Usage of space and world brushes: 10/10
Didn’t get lost at all. Really felt like this was a valve level if valve had more time to really refine Ep1.
World space is used very carefully. Everything made sense.

    Visuals 10/10
Dutsmotes, lighting, props, debris, and fire. Everything here is eye-candy. Played it again just to get my final comments.

    Gameplay: 8/10
Could be a bit lengthier, but by far better than other maps I played. I did die a few times, but it wasn’t too hard at all. The shotgunner was right there waiting for me though at the doors. Was not expecting them.

    Final Score: 28/30 – 93%

Final Comments: Play it now. This is a personal favorite of mine to study. I did take longer the first time, but it took me 4 minutes minimum to complete without too much exploring. I’d say maybe 10 minutes the first time.

  25. Play It Now!

Its a nice collection of scenes that I hope can be worked on to completion.
