I’ve rated this map 5 out of 5 because for what it is it’s excellent.I don’t have a problem rating a small map with a high score because I am judging it against other small maps not huge mods.
Now, the gameplay is well balanced and the level design very good.
The only issue with layout I encountered was a bottle neck area just outside. Screenshot 12 shows the outcome.
The final battle was great fun and for 15 minutes of play it’s highly recommended.
Therefore my recommendation is:
I enjoyed this 2 level map pak short & sweet with even one funny moment I encountered without firing a shot on some zombies.
The Final Battle wasnt very challenging & sadly their was no real ending just fade to black.
Although the installer was very well done you dont see that for such small files.
Hope we see more from this author in future.
Short and bland maps, the only thing I liked about it was the refreshing-kill-the-strider-with-a-puzzle 😉
I also rated it 5 out of 5 if only because of the installation feature which should be mandatory for maps and mods. I also thought it was well done and as usual, for things I like, too short.
It doesn’t offer any story (beyond the readme blurb) or anything that unique, with the exception of the end battle, but it has some decent design and it’s short, so, unlike most simple mods, it doesn’t outstay its welcome (although this may be verging on too short, considering I was thinking “that’s it?” as the first load point came). While the architecture is all relatively simple the only semi-major visual problem is that the lighting in the second map is overbright in a couple of areas, which looks very ugly, and better lighting would have done wonders to the atmosphere.
The final confrontation is different from the usual, I’m not sure on the logic of it but it definitely made it stick out, although I think a little bit more could have been done with the ending (at least a screen message or something, rather than it just fading out while still being obviously in gameplay).
There’s enough here that I think the author has potential to come up with a classic if they spent a bit more time on merging a storyline with the gameplay, and more original battles like the final one, as well as improving their outdoor lighting skills.
Very, very short, but the ending puzzle was refreshing. The lack of any buildings surrounding you as you emerge was a bit strange, as was the endboss “battle arena.”
The screenshots look pretty decent. I’ll try it out. It appears to have some different environments that revolve around sewers.
Too short for my liking. The end encounter is challaging and whilst design and textures are good the maps is lacking content.
I enjoyed this. Way too short, but it was kind of cool the route that was used to destroy the strider.
really short but a fun little map, unique way of taking down the strider has potential to expand. not a fan of fade to black ending but worth a quick play.
Caution. After downloading you extract an .exe. I hate that.
You don’t know what’s in it or where it’s going.
I downloaded to a dummy file and extracted to the same dummy file. Then I moved just the .bsp to my EP1 maps folder and ignored the other stuff – played just fine.
OK. Not a lot of combat but played nicely and adequately mapped.
The only reason to play this is for the Strider at the end.
You have to bring it down but don’t have the weaponry to do it.
Very hard and novel ending.
Anyone still have this? The link is broken.
Again another page with a dead file link or no link at all. I’m just leaving a review so it no longer comes up in my search. It’s not on Moddb either.
Trying to download the rar from the link above and get:
can’t connect to server files.runthinkshootlive.comfilefront.com
Fixed, thanks.
