  1. Phillip says Maybe

This is an unfinished work, but was quite fun to play. I actually played it three times because I thought it was recording but wasn’t.

There are lots of holes and ways to see out of the map, but if you can look past these then it has it’s positives. Oh, and there are some weird geometry lines that must have something to do with the map – ignore them – they are not lasers, like I initially thought.

Could keep you amused for just over 5 minutes.

  2. Avoid It!

I do hate giving this map a bad reputation, but the mapper needs to not think that his methods of map making are good.

The mapper has got skill, at least more skill than me (cause I’m learning the ropes still). the map had a neat layout with of course many leaks and glitches, but i can overlook that. However the thing that made me chose avoid was too many enemies introduced at once. I mean I do like a challenge. But blow a door off which destroys half my health and cram a avalanche of combine with hack and turrets at the end, without, at most, the GG is just ridiculous. If I wanted to have combat like that I would make a room with them in using Hammer.

Small maps like this could be an amazing 5 minute game play, but this feels like it’s simply a room full of enemies. Please make this longer and better next time (get inspiration from a short map like “Forest Train”, or “Years Long Alarm”).

  3. Avoid It!

I have to agree that all this map effectively does you is give you a battle that you have absolutely no chance of winning. Even retreating is useless since there are so many manhacks and soldiers in the area. I also don’t like how the hurt areas immediately kill you either. It should damage you, but you should still be able to retreat from it if you go in. This map is just trying to punish the player constantly. There also seem to be many visual glitches and problems in the map, and a few invisible walls that really annoyed me as there didn’t appear to be another path.

  4. Maybe?

I thought the lights were lasers too. On the plus side, there are quite a few little hidden things you need to find or activate. On the downside, there are so many manhacks it’s hard to stand a chance against them. Even a pistol would have given you a more balanced fight. It’s good enough to try but be warned about the rough edges.

  5. Maybe?

It was an interesting challenge and its possible to win but only by retreating then briefly running out and back for supplies.

    Think Twice

Apparently here we have another unfinished work, and you can see by many visual glitches inside this map, that are very evident.

Though the middle and main battle which I can define as the heart or the main core of this map, is quite intense and hardcore, filled with many manhacks and CMB infantry, is actually possible to win it if you think strategically (where to take cover and shoot the CMB at safe distance, which is possible because you have the crossbow and some grenades). So I liked the battle in this map, and also there’s a little puzzle involving a car battery too that it isn’t quite hard to figure out, plus other 2 puzzles involving to get rid of lethal heat steam, and get rid of lethal electrified water.

But apart from that quite cool battle and the puzzle solving, I found the visual glitches in this map, outweigh this little positive points, and actually when you reach the final section where you can escape from the map, actually there’s not floor at all, so you can see totally out from the map, really those glitches are very, very annoying in this map at least for me and even make me to get confused about the map as I thought many white, sometimes red lines, coming out from the walls were kind of lethal lasers or something harmful.

So considering the previous, I think in this case the glitches of this unfinished map, are definitely forcing me to give a TT recommendation, play it only if you like intense combat and some very basic puzzle solving.

Secret Kleiner’s Lab Escape for Half-Life 2 Episode Two

    Where to begin with this…

First of all, the beginning is TOO RESTRICTED. I spent 15 minutes trying to find out what I needed to do.

Second, the combat is trash. At first, there are only 3 enemies and you’re like “This mod is not gonna have that many enemies.” You are wrong. There is a moment where 500 Combine Soldiers attack with another 400 manhacks. It’s garbage.

Overall, I know it’s unfinished and all, but seriously, I’ve seen better unfinished maps than this one.

  8. I was going to just give up and say “Avoid it!” but after watching a playthrough afterward, the level seems a lot easier when you do what the level creator intended and not skip stuff.

That said, the level is very incomplete as it is, and it’s very easy to accidentally skip the whole level. It seems unfair to review it as it clearly has some major problems and isn’t complete, but I would not recommend this as it is.
