Story
You are a commandos in the US army and you have been sent to Iraq to get a nuclear weapon that US think that Iraq have. But when youand your 3 friends come to Iraq you got really big problem because their was more soldiers in the area that you suppose.
Your other friends in the grupe got killed, but they took you. You came to a base and now you start thing how you should get out, and one day the guards forget to lock the door to your cell and now you have the chance to escape!

i took that long jump module, why can’t I make that stupid long jump?! ~X(
very difficult to rate/extremely hard and confusing/hard combat difficult puzzles.
same old half-life id rather play half-life!
The mission here is to search a nuclear weapon in Iraq that the US is suspecting there. But unfortunately the place has been taken over by soldiers.
It starts in a prison and ends after cruising with a little boat..
Sounds good? Yes it does, but the conversion of it is bad.
Pro’s:
-Good balanced combat (in the 2nd half of the mod)
-Secret areas
-Outdoor / indoor areas
Con’s:
-Bad mapping, lighting and design
-No HEV at start
-Tough beginning (bad balanced)
-Silly story
-No puzzles
-Weird end
In a word, Prisoner of War is odd, and that’s in both a bad and good way. Odd because of how it plays, but at the same time, of how it doesn’t play.
At heart, this is a standard map pack boasting a dizzying array of human and alien enemies – a formula that usually works well and doesn’t need to be tinkered with. But this map pack tinkers with it, switching between human and alien enemies too arbitrarily & abruptly. The fundamental problem here is that the gameplay goals & routing change direction too many times. In the end, this makes gameplay infuriating at times. Add the obvious attempts at nonlinearity and this map pack can easily induce headaches.
Level design is overall substandard, but there are some nice ideas here and there, some of which aren’t executed all that well. The sheer number of enemies can be overwhelming, so extreme tactic is usually necessary – this in itself isn’t bad, but having to use it constantly can be annoying. On Difficult, combat is practically a nightmare, so play on Medium or Easy. Then there are the puzzles, some of which are way too obtuse in figuring out because they’re designed with reverse logic.
The architecture is generally fine, and decent, but there are a lot of sections that are plainly textured and visually boring. There are also a number of misaligned and/or flashing textures that make it all look odd. There are a variety of sections with good layout & design, but those moments are few and far between.
On top of all of this, further flaws devalue Prisoner of War. The opening exposition is excruciatingly slow, the first minute of gameplay is downright aggravating (fancy tackling a Marine with just the crowbar, but you have to pass by him to go get the crowbar first?), and a lot of maps are repeated, although with some variations. This is clearly an uninspired map pack, not exactly “bad” per se, but still hard to recommend even for the most addicted HLSP-ers.

This mod is interesting enough, but hard. There are a lot of puzzles and non-linear gameplay. Same time there are no autosaving points and this is very bad for the mod of that kind, because you can even stuck in some places with no posibilities to exit, or you can miss some important things. Level design is good only for beginning mapper. There is also a design bug on the map pow5, so you’ll be forced to use noclip to leave a locked house.
P. S. (SPOILER!) Also a little advice: while playing do some manual saves on every map and do not even enter into the dark maze, because there is only a trap without an exit.

Prisoner of War is a somewhat non-linear gruntfest which takes place in Iraq… apparently. There really is nothing to suggest that you are in Iraq at all, bar one single image of Saddam towards the end.
You are tasked by the G-Man with finding the Gauss gun, in this case referred to as a deadly nuclear weapon. From there on, things just get a little strange. Through the medium of text on a black screen, you learn that you fly to Iraq with three others, all of whom are killed in a fire fight and you are taken hostage. Then you just kind of… leave. Grabbing an HEV and a crowbar from another cell and bludgeoning the nearest grunt to death, you set off on a killing spree with little to no guidance on what you should be doing.
The combat starts out pretty unfair and occasionally you can wind up in unwinnable fights unless you explore and find some of the more powerful weapons. The grunts health has been adjusted so that it is the same on Easy, Medium and Hard, so it really comes down to slightly more aggressive grenade use if you play on the higher difficulties.
After getting outside, the challenge drops off. You take on handfuls of grunts in wide open spaces with little cover, so it becomes a shooting gallery right up until the ending: You get on a boat, get captured and then are executed.
While it is cool to see how the maps are all interconnected, the overall quality of the mod is pretty poor. The levels are pretty ugly and the scale is completely off in some areas. One highlight was the eye searing bathrooms with enormous, pure white cubicles.

There’s no way to open the gate when I bring the Gauss Gun to G-Man or maybe he’s just a boss of this prison? There’s no instructions of what doing next. You need to travel same areas as in future as in a present in different ways. So it’s like a 20 map mod and not 11 maps. Very hard and very annoying, it’s boxy with tons of enemies. Unless you skip them, it would make the run more flexible, but since I like to destroy everyone I ended losing much more time. Anyway this mod is not designed to be played rushing like a motorbike. That circling platform should move lower pace. The current speed is very annoying.
