  1. Avoid It!

one of the most boring maps ever. “Nuff said.

Hi rzx150,dont be put off by this very early piece of work by the author, there are some great HL1 and OP Forces mods by him that you should go play.

  3. sry for the harsh comment. well, Dark Operations was good.

  4. Ade

can this be played on steam? considering it’s one map and some graphs..

  5. Anonymous

It’ll work, though your maps folder is in a different place.

  6. Think Twice

To shorten it: it’s a tiny kill-everything-on-two-legs map.

    Taken from the readme:

    *Level description*

I created this level to be a stress reliever. It’s a good way to release aggression, and it’s also fun to shoot a bunch of non-hostile characters sometimes. Most other scientist killing maps I’ve seen have something wrong with them, they’re either poorly made, terribly slow, too unrealistic, or just sick. So, I made this map. Enjoy.

    —————————————–

That’s pretty much it, you start outside with a crowbar only, walk straightforward into the building and grab almost every HL weapon (except rocket launcher and Hivehand) and start going postal.
There’s only one corridor leading to several rooms. Every room is filled with quite many scientists and some Barneys.
When everyone is dead it’s the end, but nothing happens.

It indeed can be fun for a while and besides many other kill-all-scientists maps this one’s not too bad. Design is nice but basic. Some details here and there.
It’s your choice how to kill everyone due to the large amount of weapons and ammo you carry.

Very short but can be indeed stress reliever if you just want brainless action 😉

    Playtime: less than 5 minutes

  7. Ten Four Reviews

In my opinion, this is the funnest level Barry Bollinger has made, or maybe we’re just getting used to him.

Barry is becoming the most prolific SP mapper Half-Life has to offer. Tenacity is a good thing, but so’s quality and that’s something Postal and Barry’s other maps lack. But, I mean it when I say this map is fun; it’s just… pointless.

If my telltale hints haven’t led to a conclusion yet: yes, this is another scinetist/barney killing level 🙂 I can here the sighs already, but if it’s any compliment, this is the most accomplished of any level of this type. Free from poor framerates in South Easter Lan Party, or boring visuals in ts_mf, or a combination of both in the abominable Blood and Guts, I just never had as much fun killing brainy scientist as in Postal

But, needless to say, this is also a quickly forgettable experience as all levels of this variety will be. The only threat to you in Postal are three Barney’s protecting the scientists. But, being the Barney-rights activist that I am, I led them quietly to areas where they couldn’t see me doing my bloody business 🙂 So what makes Postal enjoable? Once again, maybe it’s because I’m getting used to this author, but that probably isn’t the case. The visuals here seem very competent and because of the small size, there’s really nothing to complain about. Also, you get all the weapons except for the hive-hand and RPG so you can dispense of those NPCs any way you wish.

The only thing that robs this of being the perfect scientist-killing map is the fact that you can jump out one of the windows here and go into null-land, where there’s nothing but HOM 🙂 Still, this is a great stress-reliever, as Barry called this, and one I can recommend because of the small size. Oh, and yes it’s true, Postal even has a story to accompany it, what is this world coming to! 🙂

  8. I used to make this kind of map back in the day, but a little more basic. This is probably one of the earliest maps in the theme of Scientist Slaughterhouse and Scientist Hunt.

The level’s design is fairly simple and not overly interesting to look at. It’s essentially a handful of rooms filled with prefabs and scientists.

At least they went to the effort of placing info_nodes so that the scientists can attempt to run away, rather than just dancing in place.

  9. Play It Later

Short but fun to kill scientists. Adding more barneys would be fun for some more variety. The map didn’t end after I killed everyone but I noclipped out and couldn’t see anything else to do.

  10. Maybe?

If you are looking for a target range level go for this one. You must use all the weapons. Even snarks works, they attack scientist like a hungry worm just raised out from the earth. I would like the snarks to be more bigger and more faster so the eat all those scientists all alone while I am sitting in the chair taking my coffee. It’s too much job killing those scientists. They are defenseless. I mean it’s a fight. And they constantly says me “to stop attacking”. I’m just crazy, my head has a lot of screams like this.
