Interesting title… seeing as how this mod has absolutely nothing to do with pimping out any cars whatsoever. Instead, what you get is a puzzle-based map-pack (not that it’s a bad thing).
The puzzles are fairly straightforward with lots of direction and explanation, but you may get the occasional riddle that’ll have you stuck, if only for a few minutes.
It’s a nice change from all the run-and-gun mods out there.

a very thoughtfully detailed and created map full of nonsensical puzzles. Obviously
a very beginnerish map, though you can tell right away a lot of heart went into making
it.
I got tired of the puzzles afterwhile, and just noclipped around to the end, enjoying the
thoughtful detailing where I could find it.
+some nice texuring
+nice use of texture sounds (made for some more original ambient noise)
+nice detail work though a bit blocky
+nice entity work for the code entering
+nice use of game_text
-no custom splash nor music nor intro for such a nice work (disappointing)
-delete config.cfg before you play, or all your binds will be screwed (i hate this)
Putting aside the very blocky graphics and the simple “press everything” approach to puzzle solving, I actually quite enjoyed this.
It’s certainly a change of pace from some of the other mods listed, but it’s not really enough to get most players excited.
I have put a MAYBE recommendation because it’s not terrible but if you like serious mods then you probably won’t enjoy this one.
I didn’t like this one at all. It’s purely puzzles, but it’s not well executed and will probably just leave you frustrated. There’s nothing to even shoot to relieve the frustration.
The maps are pretty basic, not terribly detailed, and generally unattractive. The main problem is that the author chose possibly the worst of Half-Life puzzle types – you have to hit buttons in a certain order (typically entering a numeric code or spelling a word). The real issue is that there’s no feedback as to which button you pressed. This is simple to add and it’s really a daft choice to not include it. Good luck pressing the buttons you want to press on a 10-digit keypad – at least the maps include a gun so you at least get a crosshair to aim.
Yes, it’s not really my style of mod. It’s a pure puzzle mod, but it’s not that well done of a puzzle mod which is why I advise you skip it altogether.
I enjoyed the section in the building but then it just got repetitive and boring.
This mod started out enjoyable for me, but then went boring towards the end. Throughout the whole mod you just look for codes by following riddles in order to get to a garage. You also have to look for hidden buttons and answer two general knowledge questions, although nothing in this mod was that hard.
The mapping is unspectacular and the lighting was very annoying in parts. Plus the whole thing was just the same thing over and over. I hated the annoying music in the garage too, and not even stopsound worked. Not everyone likes that kind of music.
It’s worth playing until you leave the house.
This will probably appeal to someone out there, but not me!
First off the only reason for the gun was to aim at the keys on the keypads which suggests the author was not able to figure out another way of doing it. While I can see what was intended it was no fun for me, but what I will say in favour of the author, it would seem that cheats would have been little help in completing this.
I’m not going to bother commenting on the looks of this, as the puzzles distracted from even thinking about it, although again Lego comes to mind from what I did see.
I cannot bring myself to give it an AI because some will find this OK, but if you like puzzle only maps, then go for it.
Well i’ll say u can play this later conssidering there’s no combat at all in here, I think this mod is perfect to take a break for all the violence combat mayhem we’re overused to in every mod we play!, the ouzzles may be rough at the begining specially if u are not a patient guy and really get pissed off by the pressing buttons puzzles, so be warned of that before u atempt to play this.
My only observation would be that i’d likem a better use for thos 6 bullets of the magnum, I mean, a speciall bonus section where u can kill pimp-zombies, or something like that would add a funky touch with few kills-
OMG, Pimp My Zombies! What a great idea. A whole mod based around being able to upgrade your zombie with new abilities and skills. Seriously, that could make a great mod.
If i’d be a modder i’m sure i’d do that, but im just a simple mortal gamer! hehe, actually i’d love to do many things as modder, like that 7hr war mod I allways and hopefully wait!
A searching puzzle. We start in a room and start to search for a code to open the door, making the footstep sounds that were borrowed from the game Kingpin: Life of Crime. After finding the code, I entered it, and nothing happened. The readme says that I should try again, and yes, from the fifth try it worked.
The code input is realised poorly – not only it doesn’t work from the first try, but the buttons also don’t move when we press them, so it’s not possible to know if the right button was pressed. Maybe it would be better to make this mod for that game Kingpin instead – if I remember correctly, there you always press the button where the crosshair is pointed at.
And that is not the only defect – in the corridor ceiling texture is stretched, and one door moves aside, revealing a wall behind it.
The gameplay consists of searching for codes, buttons and answering questions. New record has been set – first time I had to browse Wikipedia in order to complete a mod.
On the street I jumped on the roof, from the roof – on the street lamp, from there in the yard with the basin. I had to use sv_gravity in order to get back to the street.
Thankfully, there weren’t any difficulties in the garage.
I’m giving this mod 3 out of 5. The rating would be higher if the author spent some time removing defects.
I like it but that’s because I’m a puzzle whore.
Small German author’s puzzle mappack with no combat.
Starting in a house you have to solve several puzzles in it to access other rooms and finally being able to leave it for getting out on the streets where more puzzles await in different areas such as some other house, a garage etc.
Sometimes you have to find a switch to reveal a clue, and often you simply must enter a code of numbers to proceed. It can be tricky to some enter some codes, so you sometimes need to enter them more than once until it works (a text message will appear).
What I like are the puzzles and the beginning inside the house.
It’s really interesting and you want to find out what’s next.
I even like the map design and it’s layout, well done! Although, it’s not really important this time.
There are also some new sounds, like turning on/off the flashlight, doors opening/closing etc., and some new music out of the stereos in the garage.
What’s just strange is the pack’s theme, “Pimp my car” ?? Yes, there are several cars but you can’t interact with them, it’s just puzzle-solving at all times.
Another thing is that it’s not realistic, why would you need to enter codes inside your own house to access other rooms or even exiting? That’s just odd..
Also the colt, I never needed it to shoot buttons for entering a code as it was written ingame.
You can “use” all keypads without shooting it…
All in all it was fun at first but I really can’t describe it better, mixed feeling.
So if you’re not sure whether or not to play it, “check the reviews first” !
Playtime: 5-25 minutes (depending on your brain) 🙂

This is a strangely enjoyable mod.
There is no story on this one. Just solve the puzzles.
The puzzles, even though are good have some issues with the keypad. I was stuck on the first door even though I knew the code.
The cars look great, but only presented near the end of the mod.
Also, the title is misleading, so don’t expect a mod where you actually Pimp your Car.
Overall, pretty nice mod. I really enjoyed it. Though, again, it could have been better.
Challenging puzzle, no combat
