I don’t normally add maps like this on the site, in fact, I have specific criteria, but I’ll be honest with you – I was desperate. I had already played what I thought would be today’s 50SDoS map but it was already on the site, but that’s another story.

There could in fact be combat or puzzle solving (I suppose you could stretch the idea of finding and using keys as puzzles!) later on as I didn’t reach the end.

I was recording the video above and ran out of time.

What I did play wasn’t particularly scary or atmospheric, just dark really.

I have given this a MAYBE because some people seem to enjoy this sort of release and you might be one of those people.

Here’s the toilet key: it’s in the kitchen near the window. That’s all i found myself. I didn’t see the basement key, you found in the video, because it was too dark. I don’t know how to get upstairs, either.

    1. to get upstairs, you need to get a burning plank next to the body in the basement and burn that pile of rubble.

sorry, my spoiler tag was wrong…

    That’s 10 minutes I’ll never get back…

Ugh, so flashing lights and utter dark patches automatically make something scary? Come on.

This is just a find-the-key hunt, with you moving slower than usual and lacking a flashlight. There are jumpscares here and there but nothing spooky and it’s all just a bit irritating.

I don’t even know if I found the end. I got to the end of a red-lit vent where there was a jumpscare, but then the only way out was to go back. If that wasn’t the true end it was at least the end of my patience.

You can’t see to find any keys even you know where they are.

I’m afraid maps only based on keys and darkness is very frustrating. So I’m going to suggest you look elsewhere. I might be interested in this map if it were expanded with combat and a flashlight.
    And drop the keys.

Well, this was a little non-combat but pure horror puzzle map. In fact, It wasn’t very hard to figure out how to solve the puzzles, which involve key fetching and use some assets like a maze hammer and a fire wooden piece to unblock barricades and keep going.

Indeed is quite dark as hell and have some little cheap scary tricks, but nothing more than that.

Some parts are a little bit scary indeed.

For me, this is a scary play it later, I think Halloween is right in the next corner by this time of the year, so it is nice to collect every HL2 horror map or mod possible and play it for that upcoming season.

  8. Avoid It!

It appears to be impossible to complete it or maybe there was a problem in my game, either way there was a key you was supposed to find on toilet that i couldn’t be able to find.
    Noclip didn’t even help.

  9. Avoid It!

A horror map that fails at basically everything it tries to do.
You have keyhunting, with keys that are so unbelievably small that sometimes I didn’t even see them while directly looking at them.
The horror in this map is through the jumpscares. The atmosphere and setting weren’t scary, which has a major impact in a horror map. The jumpscares weren’t great, it was either something like a bucket flying at your face or your typical “loud scerry noize ex deee!1!!!!1!!”.
Overall, only play this if you want to review it.
