After many wars between the humans and the Combine most of the technology is destroyed so people and combine join forces against the only unaffected enemy – the undead. Of course not everyone is so happy about having the Combine as a friends and you are one of those people.Your goal is to escape the prison you are thrown in and make your way to the freedom.

Here is a short chat with Aleksandar Ivanov. The audio quality for this interview is not very goo and I apologize, something went wrong with my soundcard/driver installation. I spent at least two hours working with the various files and using different applications to get the interview listenable, nearly drove me crazy!

I have mixed feelings about this mod. It aspires to great highest but I feel that it missing slightly.
There is no doubt you should play this and I am pretty sure most will love it, but it really needed to have been beta tested a little more.
The inclusion of the jalopy was initially excited but ultimately not worth it, since the roads were too winding and there was not enough room to really have some fun.
The gameplay was standard, which is fine with me.
The thing that’s missing is probably the finer details. Things like a missile silo in the middle of a road, Large elevators with no where to load and unload. Now, I know that some people don’t think these types of things are important but that’s what separates the good from the great.
I look forward to the more eloquent reviewers because I can’t seem to express my thoughts very well today – probably because I am rushing.
5 Words Or less Review
Pretty but flawed.
Looking from the screenshots, this mod clearly uses a lot of Episode Two content. That means Episode Two is required, and all Episode One content comes with Episode Two, so people don’t need to own Episode One. I don’t know if it’s based on the Source SDK Base – Orange Box, as I haven’t seen the GameInfo.txt. (This mod will not run with only Episode One installed.)
The screenshots are looking rather good, showing the designer has some levels of skill, so I’ll give it a try when I get some time on my hands.
this mod was pretty fun The part with the car was kinda pointless, too much debris and stuff on the road; and the mod was a bit too short…..espescially after seeing the huge filesize I was hoping this would last me an hour or 2 maybe….
Great fun – quite hard as well. The jalopy was great. I see Phillip and another did not appreciate but it is not unlike some parts of EP2 with tight bends and the odd bit of tree to drive around.
Running over the enemy is always very satisfying!
Pros Loads.
Cons I hate being stripped of weapons half way through a game a la Half-Life 1.
I have added a panoramic image.
Me again
I forgot to add: For players who do not know and are without the Source SDK Base – Orange Box, it is a free download. When you open up Steam, go to the Tools menu.
It may be important to have this in future as I suspect many mappers and modders will be using it.
I checked back here after downloading this yesterday, as it won’t get past the initial loading screen…but seeing as how everyone else seems to have managed okay I’ll try it again.
My download, from the Modsite link was 294Mb which when extracted made a whopping 679Mb! I think I might give it one more go before downloading it from one of the other links….
If you think something is wrong with the download, you can redownload it from http://noescapemod.com/files/ne-full-10.rar The exact size of the archive in this link is 282 MB (295 748 226 bytes)
Just make sure you have ep2 and the orange box sdk installed and each of them was started at least once just like Bobz said 🙂
There are some very interesting things to See and Hear in this one! Love the gun sounds! Nice to see new talent. l hope this isn’t the last from this author.

Tried it again, with the same DL, and after a whole 15 minutes loading time it worked, and yes I have the Orange Box SDK installed etc etc.Architecture & detail utterly fabulous, but the two or three re-tracking bits were a bit cheap, and added nothing to it, except one of those “I’ve explored absolutely every inch of this whole scene, without finding the way out…so it must be the same way I came in…” bits, which to be honest we’ve seen before and the only thing to say is I guess it’s economic for a mapper to re-use something they’ve already built. That’s not necessarily an issue, just it could’ve been executed a bit better perhaps.Challenging combat, though way too many fast-zombies at one point, and when the text came up with the “Three minutes for the escape train” or something similar I had no idea whatsoever where to go, and when I got there the door didn’t open, so I must have missed a trigger somewhere………?
These were minor gripes in the scheme of things, but I don’t get the idea that this has been play-tested enough before release.
I really really hope we see more mods from this author & his pals. Go on, make some more!
Definitely a PIN!
Its impossible to beat because there’s some bug on first level after you turn on that valve takes away the flooding, and you turn on the switch, that big door wont open. tried loading but still same problem.
Max You have to press the switch all the way which means you have to hold it until the small glow change from green to red 🙂
Max, I had the same trouble, keep using the switch and it should get lower each time, it’s an old switch and needs to be tried several times.
Gypsy Jim thanks alot for the feedback! The door opens very slow so you have to wait a bit before its open.
I’ve added a higher resolution, full screen panoramic view.
I really enjoyed this one except for the fast zombies continually in your face.I liked not being inside all the time and the driving bit was fun but to short.Needs more polish but still worth a play.
Very decent mod, gun fighting was hard at times. The scenery was very good and polished good enough, however, I did have prob’s with getting the iron door to open (had to use noclip) did know I had to hold down the switch to make the door open. but overall, I enjoyed it..
Awesome! Loved it!
And I forgot to add something to the mod db message:
Ring………..ring……………I seem to remember hearing this alot in Shivers 2??? 😉
Oh wow I see. lol thanks for clearing that up, I sure wish it was easier then that I mean how was I suppose to know. You didn’t have to hold the button while turning the valve so I assumed the same for the switch. Still great mod!
Not a bad Mod in my opinion. I agree with Andyb that there were too many fast zombies. I also thought it was a bit too dark during that section making it hard to beat. I went into god mode to get thru that part only because I didn’t want to get frustrated by spending forever stumbling around in the dark finding the batteries and what to do next fighting off zombies you can’t see coming at you all the time.
A rather large download for about an hour of playtime. The way forward was fairly easy to find most of the time.
The jalopy was fun. I like the cough it gives as you get out. Reminds me of an old Ford ute I owned as a young man. It did the same thing and steered like a cow as well.
Overall it was fun with new textures and weapon sounds. The loud crack of the Hi Caliber Pistol was satisfying and seemed more realistic than the original sound.
Good work. Keep it up mate.
Not bad, some fun spots.

I’m not the first to have mixed feeling regarding this mod it has some good points along with some let-downs. I thought the road sequence was a bit pointless regarding the use of the buggy, having played it through twice once with the buggy then without I can confirm it plays better on foot.
I had plenty of slow downs and freezes-ups which thankfully cleared without booting, so I guess this needs some optimizing by the author and a point he should address if he is serious about continuing the mod has indicated with the ends titles.
Again I’m not the first to be critical of the fast zombie sequences, these were set to dark and the repeated in our face approach never gave the player a chance to take stock. I found them annoying in the end and god mode just to get on with the game and advance. I never did find the trigger sequence to the last door leading to the train and the end cut scenes, but I don’t think I by-passed any of the gameplay or story line by noclipping.
I don’t often cheat in this way, and don’t normally resort to this due to the mod being hard, often has with this mod it’s due to a part of it being unclear in what is intended and mixed with the mess that was the fast zombie sequence, which I though was poorly constructed, leads to the situation where the player is losing interest.
Having said all the above it should not stop you downloading and playing through, there are plenty of positives to keep most gamers happy.
I’ve added the audio interview to this post.
Fantastic mod!!! Great level design!
I had my eye on this mod for quite some time before it’s release and I share some of the same views as Phillip. The maps were very welled designed (especially the outdoor section), new skins, new sounds, and the new weapons were great. However there were several things that detracted from the overall experience. One was the story, to be honest it was pretty subpar-like it was hastily slapped on, *SPOILER* The Humans and Combine unite to fight the Undead (Headcrab Zombies), the mod never reveals why you hold a grudge against the Combine, or why you need to launch a nuclear strike against a city (as depicted in the last cutscene map). *SPOILER END* The other gripe was it’s length. For a mod totaling over 200mb and unpacked over 600mb I did not expect such a short mod. Nonetheless, it was a great effort and the moddb rating of 7.0 seems just about right.
The Best mod i’ve played (and I’ve been going through pretty much over 100 mods in the past 2 weeks) Bringing F.E.A.R guns into Half-Life universe with the same punch??? That’s one of the best decisions ever made in such kinda game since the only good thing about F.E.A.R was its guns…
It’s not the best designed levels… but just for the sake of gunplay, it’s really fun
Well done mod, nice mapping and such. Not too hard or too easy. Fun to play. But the overused FPSBanana skins kinda took away from it.
Good one! Not great, but alot of fun.
Not bad,but no its excellent 😉
in short: I loved the mod. There are small things that need a bit of polish, but overall its an excellent map pack. But attention: Despite the big download it is very short with around 30 minutes (but features some excellent texture work ).
Nice touch was the level in the black forest, where I’m actually from 😉
This is pretty good, the atmosphere is exceptional and the outdoors areas look beautiful. The combat is also very good usually, although the roadblocks were a bit silly as you can just snipe all their heads with the revolver. The puzzles are just finding switches (and one battery puzzle) though. In fact, one switch later on blends in with the wall, so it took me a long time to find *coughcough*ammoroom*coughcough*. My main complaint, though, is that there’s waaay too much walking (or running) to do in chapter three. Yes, you made a pretty environment, but I would rather fight in it then walk for five minutes straight. I guess you’re supposed to use the jalopy but I tried four times and every time it got stuck.
Also, the ending is brilliant. I recommend you play this mod, but I wouldn’t rank it with the greats. I hope the creator keeps modding, though, and eventually he’ll get there.

Not a fan. Not sure why people spend time on assets and ignore gameplay. The assets are terrible. Gameplay is not far behind.
