After the horrible events experienced in the mansion earlier and managing to escape, you rent a hotel room for the night to rest.
But there is not much resting to be had..
The horror has just begun!

Thanks for downloading and I hope you enjoy this map which is 2 of the 3 prequels to my map “Necrophobia” For 5th Challenge AnythingVilleVille Hammer Cup 2016
The original 3 maps can be also found on my steam workshop if you wish to check them out there. Thanks and have fun!”

The problem with playing and recording videos at the same time is that you approach things differently. I generally don’t like scary maps or mods but in this case I think I enjoyed it more than if I had had the lights off and was taking it more seriously.
There were too many jump scares for my liking, but I have to say that there was one that was probably my favourite of all time.
It’s quite a large map for a simple concept: mostly empty rooms but some have “ghosts” and some have zombies.
The author made this a few years ago and has improved since then but you have to judge a map on how it plays now and the best I can say it MAYBE.
Don’t ask me why I said PLAY IT for the first prequel and only MAYBE for this one – I just don’t know. Maybe I’m getting bored of the style.
Anyway, if you like the look of the screenshots try it, if not, start watching my video and if you think it could be fun, stop and go play it.

Phillip announces his “sabbatical” thing and then 3 or 4 maps get released one after the other.
Yeah! He should rename the site back to Planet Phillip, skip the whole time wasting videos and stuff and do what he is best with: find cool maps and mods for us to play :).
Thanks for including this map phillip, I will hopefully get around to updating and releasing the final prequal map from that mappack along with some new horror maps.
Once addicted to HL, you are addicted forever, even if you try to do a sabbatical…hahaha.
Pushing jokes aside.
I think Phil should do what he wants and not what we want!
To the topic…
I love to see people modding and creating new stuff for HL², so thx for this little piece of stuff.
I had fun playing^^
@Phil
Thx for everything you did all the years and enjoy your life.
I played Necrophobia Prequel 2 almost immediately after the first one, and felt #2 was slightly weaker than #1. Again, some jumpscares really got me and some didn’t because I didn’t saw them. The environment and atmosphere was sometimes supurb. However, enemy activity was sparse and my health never fell below 80, making Necrophobia Prequel 2 a bit too easy. This can (partly) be dealth with however by playing on hard.
I believe #2 ends in the same location where you start in #1, with the only difference you’re outside the fence of the mansion this time. Nice detail … !

This sequel was good enough, though I think the first one was better. I think is just an OK Play it Later.
This time the developer didn’t overwhelm the player with hordes of zombies, and I guess he decided to rely more on the jump-scares as the main horror resource.
The story is vague and we don’t have a proper context within the mod, nor we have an argument that connects the first prequel with this sequel.
All in all is just an OK horror HL2 mod, perfect to play it in some sinister Halloween.
Yeah i think that’s all I can say. You know it is difficult to make some really scary mods in HL2 with the resources of the original game. I mean all of those good horror mods in HL2 are Total Conversions with their own models and stuff.

This is kinda good but gets a little repetitive after a while. I did more of the constant poor lighting throughout and the map design felt fragmented. I did like the whole idea with the scene though, it worked well and made me jump once lol. Pretty good map I just wish there was a little more lighting now and then to give it some variety. Enjoyed it.

I am a sucker for zombies and horror. If you see this map, please play it now. This map has a lot going for it. I probably could’ve beaten it faster if it wasn’t currently 1AM, but I enjoyed this map nevertheless. I actually liked the jumpscares around every corner. It really made the place feel alive and truly haunted.
Usage of space and world brushes: 8/10
Strong world design and solid brush work. I almost loved every minute of it. I felt like the usage of space was a bit too large at times (mainly the hallways and the padded cells).
Visuals 8/10
Blood, guts, and scares. It’s quite loud at times, but strong visual ques that something definitely took place… wherever I was lol. Lighting was a bit dark, but having the EP2 flashlight is very refreshing to see. I hated EP1’s underground standoff with the legacy (old) battery. I could keep it on much longer.
Gameplay: 8/10
I did get lost at times, mainly looking for the keys, but for the most part I kept moving in the direction I needed to. At this point, I’m trained to look for vents behind boxes, and I was not disappointed at all. I had way too much ammo and health, but I didn’t mind at all. Better to have too much, than not enough.
Final Score: 24/30 – 80%
Final Comments: I did get locked in a room and had to cheat to get out (ent_fire !picker unlock), but I think I may have missed something since I am quite tired tonight.
PS. I realize now there might’ve been a story I missed, but I didn’t really mind if there wasn’t one. I just was vibing in the moment.
