This is a mod that seems to have slipped under the radar and been more or less ignored. So far it seems a solid production and has surprised me, which is why I added the surprised face to the title image.
Obviously it’s set on a space station near the moon, but that’s all I can tell you. Hopefully we’ll get an English translation soon (See below).
I fully respect and understand that when an author releases a mod they do it in their own native language. However, I also understand that this often limits the exposure. A simple map doesn’t need English to be played or enjoyed but a mod with a story probably does.
I am therefore asking if any PP reader who knows how to contact the author or can translate the text into basic English to contact me. I will make the English sound more natural, so don’t worry if your English isn’t perfect.
I will then add the English text to the file and make it available in the normal way i.e. through a compressed file with two or three mirrors.

Its weird that this 12 Maps spanning mission from 2003 made by czech mapper Jitka Koten
could be overlooked for so long. Because it stands out in the matter of mapping quality and
well executed design. Its – in a positive way – a bit untypical for a eastern europe map-pack
of that time.
I got the impression that Moonwalker is influenced by System Shock 2 and USS Darkstar.
Moonwalker is gameplaywise not the biggest challenge,so feel free to play it at highest
difficulty. You wont regret it. Its a unique little gem.
It’s kinda funny, I just tried this mod a couple of days a go (got it from Fileplanet) and was wondering why it wasn’t included on PlanetPhillip’s data base.
Too bad I had to uninstall it beacause it’s all in czech; let’s just hope somebody here uploads an English translastion soon.
Did I hear someone say this mod looks like it was part-inspired by System Shock 2?
That’s one of my favourite games of all time, so I’d definately like to check this out.
I think I will wait until the English patch happens though. I’d hate to spoil a good mod by not knowing what is going on……
I enjoyed the mod. Haven’t play a Half Life mod in a long time and it was good to visit the original graphics, characters and sounds again. Even though it wasn’t in English, I had no trouble following the story and moving through the maps. And I had absolutely no technical problems. I will give it, a play now!
Played this along time ago.Was/still is a very good mod.Challenging at times yet not impossible.Getting past the steam near the end allways gets me thou.
Is there an English translation?
Read the “Important Note” near the top
Yes, how do you get past the steam? I noclipped in the end….other than that, a very solid mod but strangely uninvolving. I can’t put my finger on why, but it made me say Play It Later rather than Play It Now.
It has something to do with the 2 movable boxes needed on the lift to reach the ladder.I just cant remember what I’m forgetting to do to beat the steam.
spoiler,to get past the steam there is a card on the computer table in the office pick it up head to the steam go left
the left to the catwalk ladder. The ladder on the right deadends.Go down the ladder and in the corner there is a keypad and a switch, this will turn of the steam.put two crates on the elavator and saise it so you can reach the ladder.
Cheers, that was driving me crazy!!
Have you tried asking these people for a translation? -> http://modifikace.tym.cz/
I seem to be losing my touch.. I`m stuck in map 7, where there’s an elevator from which you can see the garg. Up there, computers and nothing else. Help, anyone?
So far, impressive mapping with huge constructions, the story might have been catching if it were in english, enemies die too quick on medium. Enjoyable, but not immersive. After a break, you just don’t get that feeling of “can’t wait to go back and see what’s next”.
Well.. there was a panel that I pressed for 10 times, and nothing happened, and now it opened a door.. small bug, perhaps. I got to the steam part!
got exciting towards the end, but the actual ending was a bummer. Worth a play or 2.
Cheers and thanks much guys.I appreciate it !!!
i just finished. what a great mod. lots of cool stuff to explore and even though the text is in another language the voice is english and doesnt distract from the mod. I hope they make another one.
Sorry John, moonwalker is very old mod and resources is lost. But HalfLife 2 is very big game for me and I want make some mod for HL2. Of course.
Thanks again
Thx. Thought it was a screenshot of a card playing game.
Or something to calibrate tires in a garage… poor me.
New crates, levels look a bit different but boxy and not so clever. An few scientists and barneys are standing around until I searched for the right knob to open the next locked door. Unfortunately there were allmost three doors to expplore without effort before I could made one of them opening. Every two minutes a text to read, unfortunately in a east european language. Then went back to search for the next knob to push. Got no crowbar to open a vent, cheating, then searching for the next knob. This time a notebook opened a door three rooms away. And so on, more than 30 minutes I had to walk back long ways after pushing a knob somewhere else. So I decided to end the moonwalk, because I found no story and nothing of interest for me.
Sorry about the automatic generated **** . It means switches to push. kn, ob.
one of the best mods I played
http://www.filefront.com/15611227/Moonwalker_translated-to-english.exe/
I translated it and here is a download link
Filefront says it isn’t currently available.
Can anyone upload the english translation version please?
Apparently not. It doesn’t look like an English translation was ever released.
Overall decent space themed mod, with some custom sounds and weap. models.
Mapping… feels like most of the maps are unfinished, empty useless areas and hallways without any purpose (map 10 just keeps going and going…). Just adding useless walking (and length for the mod) if you ask me. But.. then there are areas full of stuff, like the beginning of the map 11.
And not that much good battles against Xen mobs or grunts. Just one or two enemys here and there, usually easy to kill. But in the other hand, there wasnt that much ammo’s around, I was mostly using shotgun and pistol.
The biggest selling point of this mod is its level-design. Many rooms and corridors are very intricate and inventive, lots of detailed and unique areas. Unfortunately the gameplay isn’t the best, wandering around in search of buttons/keycards is and never has been fun. There are some fun and challenging (at least on hard) fights with soldiers in the second half of the mod. As a whole, Moonwalker feels a bit disjointed, it is (and forever will be) a beta. There is an English version of the mod available on moddb .
This is a must play if you like unique level-design and/or you are a designer looking for inspiration. If you just want to play a mod, Moonwalker isn’t a bad choice, but it doesn’t stand out either.

Hard

Level design, originality, all great. The combat is too easy on normal so I recommend playing this on hard. I only have few cons in this mod. First one is the puzzles, it’s more of a fetch quest of finding ID cards and where the f*** do I go kinda game. Next is the level transition, one issue occured to me where I accidentally went out of the map. Yes, I went out of the map by accident at one occasion. I went to a room and then went back out and suddenly changes and I fall out of the map
Guys, how do I submit screenshots? I have one where I am out of the map.
It’s a good thing I saved the game manually otherwise I had to start all the way back to the beginning because of that out of bounds glitch.
