This mod has plenty of square, boxy rooms and areas, with enemies and NPC standing around waiting for you to enter.
None of it makes sense, at least not to me, but if you want the rush of killing army grunts who are intent on killing you, then this might be fun.
The final screenshots indicates where the mod finishes.
I honestly feel that mods like this and a few others I have recently added need a new TAG. Something that makes it clear that they offer no story, or scenario except rooms full of enemies. I don’t mean that to sound negative because I often enjoy that sort of gameplay, I’s just like to be able to identify them easily. Any suggestions for the TAG name?

What about “mindless”? That pretty much sums it up – shooting without anything else to focus on.
Or maybe “shoot-em-up”? I know it’s not accurate as shoot-em-up games are usually in 2D with many limitations, but still.
Maybe “Killbox?” “Gruntfest?”
At least, that’s what I think of whenever I see maps like this. Boxy, featureless rooms with enemies and items sprinkled about with no rhyme or reason. Where any “fun” to be had really has nothing to do with anything the author did, but is just the default Half-Life AI doing its thing.
What about: “ARENA” or “COMBAT ARENA”
it’s a kind of speedrun or a speedfest I think the only good point it’s not frustrating it’s just a run an kill where you are not really looking arround
I don’t know the way it was design for, if it’s just experiencing half-life mapping and it’s entity then why not it’s a correct experience but nothing else

It’s just ok. Lots of killing and enough weaponry to make it hard for you to choose. Nothing very inspiring, and the ending is pointless

How about “meat-grinders”?
This is grunt-fest in its maximum expression, also there are not xenians at all.
Overall the maps in this mod are quite poor, areas felt blanc and quite empty and textures feel with no life at all.
Combat is just OK, and certainly it’s not a problem having tons, and tons of ammo and health,HEV recovery stations; maybe the hardest part is where you fight the 4 Icanthosaurs in the water section.
In conclusion, it got me quite entertaining but I really don’t know if Grunt-fest arenas are healthy enough to play them more constantly, in my opinion they’re most of the time pretty odd done and predictable, so its definitely better to play them not very often, as there are more interesting and story driven mods, even for the vast HL1 repertory.

One of the most mindless mods I’ve ever played in my life.
It’s the poor quality that makes this mod so frustrating. The mapping is poor, the combat is fine, however the annoying lighting and the repetetive gameplay are just too much for me.
There’s also no story whatsoever; just kill all the grunts and end the map. That just sucks.
Overall, don’t play this map. It’s way too frustrating for someone to enjoy.
