I started this map twice but never finished it until today. And boy am I glad I did. The first section was a little too dark for my liking but the gameplay concept is solid. It’s been sued many times before but that doesn’t mean it’s not fun to play.
Once you ge t past the timed section it’s down into the sewers. Only a few times did things get a little difficult, but that’s fine with me.
The last final battle didn’t quite work properly the first time I played it because it was missing some enemies. When I went back to get some better screenshots things were a lot harder and consequently more enjoyable.
The final ending was a touch scary for me first time through and I am curious to see how you enjoyed it.
5 Words Or Less Review
Features a LOT of zombies.
If this map were a pizza…
I’d ask the chef for more toppings.
Great fun and very hard in places (just how we like it),
Oh boy, push a button and magically, 7,000 zombies appear. How fun.
Chianti says ” Oh boy, a button and magically, 7 000 zombies appears…” for only a counter of arround 5min and if you put the automatic fire machine in good position they will really help you…after the nightmare really begin it’s not that dark not that architecruraly well good looking but all in one it’s dam efficiant reallly something different but you way not like it…

Too dark, way too many headcrabs, zombies and the tunnel part was just Boring. It was all together a waste of time. ( it was definitely not my type of HL2 game play)
hey what if our firend on steam sent it to you some one help
I never met a turret arena that I didn’t like, and there were some creepy moments here… but zombies are not my enemy of choice. Regardless, I’m glad I got around to playing this grisly little mod.
The timed portion didn’t make any sense. It was way too contrived. Much better to have all your enemies, say, pour out of a tunnel, and you have to dispatch them in order to get through the tunnel to the next level. Also, keeping you from holing up by hurling headcrab after headcrab through a hole in the roof of your hideout was not well thought out. It seemed like when the designer ran into a problem he just shrugged and applied the first patch he could think of. It’s too bad, since the idea of setting up with turrets and gathering ammo and health against an army of attackers is a decent one. Here the execution just wasn’t there.
I liked this map. I didn’t understand what the timed part was for ’til I wandered around again. By that time I wanted to go in the sewers. I thought.
I thought the enemy placement was well done (even when I hated it). I was confused at the end, until it ended (I thought it was just an invisible wall and wondered what I was supposed to do).
I hope the author does continue this.
The beginning part, with the cabins, freakishly reminded me of a HL1 mod.
I didn’t know I had to
push a button in a house to activate some bomb
, didn’t see it and it was hard to
follow the wiring in the dark
so I just ran around a LOT waiting for something to justify the presence of turrets, which I love to use, and thinking something was broken.
Also, another HL1 mod did a way better job at scaring me with dark places filled with zombies and crabs. Mainly because the dark areas were bigger and took time to walk in them while flashlight was running out and zombies actually kept walking towards me constantly. Standing in the dark waiting for my flashlight to recharge while zombies slowly approached and attacked, now that’s fun! Here they’re waiting for me to come in the room, therefore I can calmly sit in a safe area to recharge the flashlight. And reload the weapon. I even sniped the 2 poison zombie carriers (who wouldn’t die from countless nades) with the xbow from a safe distance. But I did like that area cus it was hard to move forward,
you know, because of all the bodies on the floor, yummm
and anything can come at you from anywhere. Died once there, poison and fast crabs are always a nice combo.
The mod has its rush areas but they’re not so impressive. I think making a mod with just zombies and crabs is always a bad idea and is really hard to pull it off, only a few good zombie mods out there.
I guess this map can be one level of a bigger mod that features a variety of enemies and an actual plot. Maybe?
This is a Ravenholmish map and I really like it. There are two distinct parts, the onslaught and the sewers. First you have to survive three (if I remember right) minutes in a zombie invasion. I think the map layout here is perfect for this kind of stuff. It’s very fun but not very hard. The sewers are really cool especially since they have secret areas. It’s pretty fun. The only complaint I have is how many headcrabs there are in the final combat area. I wouldn’t mind this if it weren’t for that there’s all three types so it’s easy to have a cheap death from the poison/fast headcrab combo. Without spoiling anything the ending is cool too. I recommend this map

I normally hate maps like this but I found this kinda fun but the relentless zombie hoard does get a bit tiresome after a while but boy did i enjoy the rush of it. Needed more lights overall as it was a bit gloomy… Not bad, worth at least one play? Umm yeah I reckon so.
Ok looking map. Defend the base kinda thing. Good if you like that sort of thing.

First half of the map is survival, second half is just traversing through the sewers. All of your enemies are zombies, and then there’s a light demon at the end. Too bad this story didn’t continue.
