Logistique is a mod whose story takes place at the same time as Gordon Freeman’s adventure in Half Life 2. You are a citizen of City 17, a city that is under iron grip of Combine presence on earth. A grip further tightened by the creation of a militia under Breen’s command called the Trust. A fight erupts between the rebels and the militia, and your girlfriend gets kidnapped by the Trust, even though she had nothing to do with it. You decide to head for the place where she conducted her research.
- This is a demo and as such may crash, not work correctly or generally provide a bad playing experience.
- Please don’t download and play if you are expecting a finished mod. This is not for you.
- If you rate this mod please consider the fact that it’s a beta. Giving it an Avoid It ! recommendation just because it crashes on your PC is pointless. I would prefer you just don’t add a recommendation image.
- This post will be replaced once the final version is released.

SPOLIERS BELOW
This mod crashed twice for me and after I have finsihed posting this comment and I try once more. It crashes just before the satrt of the second chapter and I am quite curious to see what happens next.
Within the first section there were no enemies and it was simply a case of finding your way around. The access puzzles were not too hard and the general feeling of the level was well done.
The mod contains new textures and sounds and overall I am looking forward to the final release. The no actual action it’s hard to say how much fun this mod will be.
The HUD has been changed, manily regarding the position. I am curious as to why mods do this if it does actual need to be done. For a total conversion it’s fine but for a mod I actually think it’s wrong. In this case the health is in the top left corner. If you are used to looking bottom left why change it?
If the mod team would like help with the English then they only have to ask. (It needs a little improvement).
I only gave it a Consider It recommendation image simply because it’s a demo. It’s definitely not the worst demo I’ve played but those crashes are a little frustrating. Perhaps the team should allow access to the second level irrespective of completing the first part or not.
Lastly, there’;s a French version available on their site if you prefer it.
Some good and interesting ideas in this mod. Hope the developer will continue it. My favorite part is the pistol, which looks like a .380 Walther PPK. Nice!
A couple of crashs, a little annoying, but over all I thought it was verry good.
Looking forward to the mod. Ditto on the pistol.
Okay, after trying the mod twice with the same crash I decide to load the second map manually. If anybody else has crashes I recommend this. You will need to cheat and get yourself a suit but it’s worth it.
The second level features action and besides the really annoying aspect of having no HUD aim it was very good.
I believe that the choice should be given to the player regarding crosshairs.
I’ve added 10 more screenshots from the second level but they won’t appear for about 30 minutes (Complicated to explain, sorry!)
Very well made mod, but
Regrettably, This (mod) have considerable absurd puzzles.
So, for example, If you’re turned off power switch,
You’re already at this point, You’d say those words. WTF?
Hard to say, this is really weird.
Looking great.I like the music.
I think absurd is too strong a word for them.
Wasn’t a bad mod at all, there was some nice detail on some of the lighting, but that felt like the only detailing. I’m not going to be harsh on the beta, and I’d rather wait for the full mod to come out. But honestly, Beta’s just don’t work at all. It’s quite better to release a mod in it’s full Entirety. If not, then a beta will not help.
This is said to be a demo, not a beta, so if you have problems they are likely “legitimate”.
I had no problems, and the mod seems to be shaping up very well, although there isn’t enough to get a big impression of how the mod as a whole might be like. The puzzles are well implemented and the visuals are some of the best I’ve seen. I like the way the fact you don’t have a HEV means you are portrayed as an ordinary guy, rather than a killing machine, so even Metrocops can be dangerous (although it could get frustrating if the heavier Combine come later).
The only reason it didn’t get a “play is now” is because the fact it’s a demo may not appeal to everyone (as about 80% of the comments so far apparently testify).
I don’t have much in the way of general issues, but I will mention three specific issues that stuck out for me while playing (minor spoilers ahead):
While there’s no text in game, the text when you start the mod makes it obvious that it REALLY needs an english proofreader, I could even do it if the bare-bones translations are supplied like in this instance.
The steam at the electric water puzzle should be more visible (putting some coloured steam, rather than transparent, would hopefully work fine). Until I realised what the Valves did I was initially confused why I was getting hurt when the water was safe.
The health regeneration should get more of a mention; its mechanics seem a bit obtuse. While it’s obvious you heal faster when you are weak it also seems to just stop working at times, as if there’s something else that effects it. Maybe it’s just a bug though. Plus it needs to be mentioned that it’s present in the first place (until I realised it was there I thought about how it might be easy to get stuck with the more dangerous combat).
You are right and I just rushed the post. I have changed Beta to Demo except in the image titles.
Why a Demo?….do they expect to be able to market it when it’s done? Anyway, it crashed several times (and my machine can run most add-ons with no problems), so I gave up and deleted it from my hard-drive.
well theirs a patch out released on the same day for english.
from MODB
Anyways I played through yes the mod crashed on the second level leaving me with a corrupt save game file but besides all this the Puzzles were refreshing I wish the whole Mod was like this until you reach the Metrocops I played this on Normal skill & got killed quickly by the ones above & the Pistol tho modeled to aim down the ironsight was alright but I prefer a crosshair & the health HUD shouldve been on the bottom.
Playing through the 1st half felt like a Adventure 1st person mod.
An adventure mod rather than a shooter.
Visual stuns. Path is hard to pass.
Control is …………..unique I think? I remember some old quake players play in that way.
It reminds me Penumbra series.
Script is fine.
The universe is close to Portal looking(the Realism part).
Catch my attention.
At least, it’s a unique work rather than some repetive levels.
HAVING PROBLEMS???
Then write down in console mat_dxlevel 80. To enable console go to options and then keyboard, then advanced, then enable developer console. The water filled room part is described in my review, and you’ll be able to past thru with no problems.
Single player level developed with love and affection. Altough this is a demo, its still definitely worth the try. People getting stuck in the 1st part, were you cross the water filled room, need to turn off electricity, turn off a valve near the same electrical panel and turn electricity back again, cross fast the water and get to the door in the stairs while there is still time, go go go ! The level has HDR and it adds a lot for the eyecandy, the combat is equilibrated and thanks god that danged hazard Suit is now gone for good, with damage being way realistic IMHO. You can fight some metrocops, with a pistol, has ironsights and much better than regular HL2 gameplay.
Kudos.
I thought this was very good, except for a few things.
One of the puzzles was really annoying, where you have to shut off the power that is electrifying the water. Seriously, that puzzle is very boring now. I’ve found it in more than five different games and it’s just so easy. I didn’t like how hard the combine were. I died after the third guy while I was on easy setting! That may be just because I’m not too good at the game, but it was too hard for me.
Everything else was reallly cool.
REALLY SHORT DEMO!!!!!!!! Looks like a finished, longer version could be fun, as long as it’s over 6 hours of playing time. Good puzzles and typical FPS sequences.
The demo is already available on the new website:
http://www.logistiquemod.com
This is not for me, but some people will probably like it. (And if they finish it, I will probably play it anyway.)
The last part was better when I finally remembered to use Mouse2 to aim the pistol.
I’m still not sure I did the first door right–I’m not sure I needed to use the box. And I only accidentally figured out how to get past the plywood barrier.
A promising demo that makes you want to play more. No real story but a very good level design made with a high scale of detail. Music and scripted scenes adds a great dramatical atmosphere. First map focuses on puzzles, the second one on fighting complicated by missing crosshair.
So another excellent french mod ahead and seems still in developement here:

Wow.. from 2008 until now, and still in development? They must be trying to get hired by Valve…
Unfortunate, cause I see a lot of potential here… :/
I think I would just consider this dead.
Logistique is the best pre-release of a mod I’ve ever seen. Graphically some of the finest texturing and design released for Half Life 2 so far. Puzzles were great and it played fine on my PC, with just a couple of glitches.
The cart on the sunken chute, with he cable drums is a train mechanic. Get on the back and drive it. If I climbed over it crashed the mod!
The other was me going nuts with a plank of wood trying to knock that screen down for more ammo and health!
Just look and you may find!
Nice combat and something strange ended the mod.
The long prison corridor is the stand out graphic moment in Half Life 2 this year!
This is modding at its best. I look forward to more.

Ok, so why do I take my time to review a very old demo from 12 YO now? Well simply because, believe it or not, Logistique Mod has been released in 2021! So we have a perfect way t contrast the now original game with the purpose that originated the demo.
I can say, amazingly it is not bad at all. Indeed here the combat is hectic but much more dynamic than it is in the now original game. Also, the hands model of the main character is so much better in this demo than in the actually finished mod.
So for me, Logistique was a very ambitious mod and their developers only managed to finish the 1st act of the mod, I really doubt they ever work or release the 2nd act, I hope because the now 1st act ends up in a quite unbearable cliffhanger not knowing what the heck happened to Anna and just meeting up the rebels in the district 2 sewers (to understand what I’m talking about please download and play the mod now available on Mod DB).
So finally I say this is not a bad demo, and I recommend you to play it first before You try the finished mod in order to get a more deep gaming experience. Also, I only congratulate the developers for their great effort in finishing their mod after 12 years of development! That’s quite impressive, I hope they also develop and deliver the 2nd part someday.
