This is a recreation/interpretation/re-imagining of the Strange Company Mission from the game, although it is not a exact copy.
Your mission is to collect intel by acquiring laptops and find the spy.
Your companion will provide invaluable help and there are some support soldiers scattered about the area.
Good Luck!
1. You MUST have the Source SDK Base 2013 SinglePlayer Beta install. It MUST be the BETA.
2. The required PC specs are very high. I have an Intel i5, 8GB RAM, 64-bit OS and an SSD and it ran fine.
3. Please read the Help and Known Bugs documents included in the archive before posting comments for help.

Now, I have no idea about the legal status of this mod but I hope it’s not pulled. Hopefully the fact it’s not an exact copy will be enough, although using the name itself might be a problem, let alone what I assume to be the ripped cutscene.
It seems that the author has been working on this for 6 years and has used it as a learning experience. All credit to him for that.
There are plenty of weapons lying around for you to try and this in itself might make this mod replayable.
I generally hate the idea of limited weapons and I can’t say that I enjoyed the “strategic element” that this style of gameplay provides.
Initially, I died a few times and you really need to move slowly and carefully. tactics wins over run-n-gun here. That said, if you get past the first section, it does get easier.
Not having played the original game, I can’t make comparisons with the levels but I found them really well designed and fun to play.
Whilst I have tagged this as a “partial Conversion” nearly everything has been changed, but you will recognize a few textures and models.
So, I started this mod very dubious and at first I thought about stopping but I am really glad I didn’t. If you like this style of gameplay then you will probably love this mod but if like me you don’t please persevere – I really think it’s worth it.
All in all, this is an amazing piece of work. I know the author didn’t make every weapon etc, but as a whole it feels right.

Couldn’t I just go play Killzone and get a better experience?
Yep, if you have a console. I don’t think it’s available on PC.
Not a playable mod, at least for me.
What are your system specs?
Intel i3-2310M @ 2.10 GHz, 3GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 525M 1GB RAM
Cant Play the mod.
Why? What happens?
When I begin to Play the mod, crush the Mod. No Error-code. ( Sorry my english, i´m German ).
I have Singleplayer SDK Base 2013.
Don’t worry about your English. Do you have the Singleplayer SDK Base 2013 BETA? You must have the beta.
No i cant find it on “Tools”.
In TOOLS, right click the Singleplayer SDK Base 2013 and select PROPERTIES. One of the tabs is BETA. Select Upcoming and then click close. You don’t need a code for it.
OKAY, now is running. I Find the Beta. Vielen Dank, Dankeschön.
Ach ja ich suche ein Half Life 2 mod mit der ich mit einer Physiocan Pizzas schieße. Thanks
Glad I could help.
Entschuldigung, aber ich kenne keine “Pizzas” Änderungen wissen
Hi Philip I had the same problem as Amorak but I followed your advice and its now working so many thanks
Glad you got it working. Hope you enjoy it.
Anyone able to get this start on Steam for Linux?
It says: Copy the Killzone Source folder into your …\Steam\SteamApps\common\sourcemods\ folder….
I did that and made sure that the source sdk beta is selected. But it will not start from Steam. When I run it from the command line I get an error that a library or something is not cached
Well i havent finished the game but at just over a hour of gameplay ive got a good idea of how good this game is …. granted if i had a pound for everytime ive shouted “sXXt” then i would be a rich man … however a easy game isnt a game and as another reviewer one stated running a game on easy or even worse using “godmode” isnt a game but more of a film or a walk in the park !
in regards to the high system requirements well im using a core i5,8gb of 1333mhz ,a 128gb ssd and a HD6790 and it runs fine with every visual option maxed out …… however im sure you wont have any problems with a HD4850/GT730 or even some onboard solutions ( such as intels recent “iris pro ” )
but credit has to go to steven … to work on any project ( be it game or even some home DIY ) for 6 years is trully amazing and i have to congratulate him on his patience and determination
what must you think when you place you create your first room or skybox knowing that it would be six years before you can release the game ……
finally for anyone experiencing problems starting the game you just need to right click Singleplayer SDK Base 2013 in steam tools and then select properties .. then go to beta tab and change this to “upcoming” .. and click close straight away .. the game will then start without any issues
enjoy !

Get a good computer parts dealer or use google or other search-engine to teach yourself about good and hardware that works good together^^ i am using computers since C+4, not c64…..so you got to be a nerd or just to know how hardware is to use for your advantage….it is hard…i dont call anyone a noob^^
This is really nice piece of work, but I found it extremely difficult. I was always running short of ammo and the slow manual reloading of weapons kept tripping me up. I guess I would get used to that over time. I would have liked to be able to carry more weapons at the same time but that isn’t possible. So you learn to make do with what you find. The enemy placement is good and the maps are really well structured. I did find some invisible walls in places and found that when I explored too far off the beaten path (like jumping in the water) I was restricted from going into places that looked open. I also got to a section where I just couldn’t advance and was low on ammo, and discovered that the mod has godmode disabled. Luckily notarget still worked so I could get by that. It’s challenging, but you should definitely play this one.

Good solid work.
Those looking for something different from HL2-style gunplay are in for a treat.
The soldiers do a lot of damage so you can’t go in guns blazing, you’re going to need to put effort into taking cover.
The custom assets such as the HUD and the maps are fantastically done.
I did have some trouble with a few crashes and having to remap the controls was a pain, but that still didn’t take away from how much fun it was. I say give it a shot, it’s something different and competently put together.

Very well made and its very easy to die here!
Double taps with the pistol will kill everytime,, but full clips with the machine gun may not , the sniper rifle is great, even in buildings.
Thanks for the Mod!
Not realy playable under linux, you have to lowercase the files, the rename the background01.bsp.
You can play the first map but the enemy isnt shooting at you “ERROR: Weapon (weapon_smg1) using undefined secondary ammo type.” You have to jump to the following map, after that the rest is woking (enemy isn’t shooting so you can only walk through the levels).
Everytime I try to start it up, it comes up with the loading screen and then closes it’s self, what do I do?
You MUST have the Source SDK Base 2013 SinglePlayer Beta install. It MUST be the BETA.
I have to wonder, since I never played Killzone before, is this just one mission? One spot, level?
Overall, this is a fun shooter, difficult but pretty reasonable once you realize that using the pistol is almost better than using the sniper rifle. I don’t know whether that’s how the original game worked, or what. In fact, a lot of my questions about this mod are regarding whether what I saw/did in it was ‘just like the game’, or because it was a flawed mod. I still give it a play it later, verging on play it now, because it’s both well done and short.
However. The poor parts are plentiful.
Starting from the ‘must have the beta’ SDK. Why? How did this even happen, if it’s been being worked on for 6 years? Why not just stick with the older sdk? I can’t imagine *anything* in this mod that required anything more recent than 2007 or 10 (if there is one). None of the features in it were at all unique.
The options scheme. Oh my freaking god, *arrow keys*? Del, page up, seriously? You have the opportunity to make a game work in an already fully-functional engine, and you don’t adopt the current, extremely dominant PC keyboard/mouse binds? Half the time they didn’t even work right – I had f bound to flashlight but I suspect (can’t prove) that it had to do with what weapon was being held? There were no instances where I needed night-vision, but it still worked where I couldn’t get the flashlight to function. Changing weapons was also not working with the numbers, though maybe it required the keypad – which again is a huge error in judgement for a control scheme.
Related to that: the options themselves were poorly labeled, misspelled, and inconsistently capitalized. I have to wonder whether this is why some of those options didn’t work right, but I can’t say for sure as I’ve never tried coding a control option area.
And the grammar nazi in me wonders, “your dead”… my dead what, exactly? You’re Dead. There’s nothing that breaks immersion for me quicker, than seeing something that feels so *deliberately* bad. In Half Life 1 the Marines spray painted ‘yore dead freeman’ and such, but that was flavor and immersive. The death screen here on the other hand… Should not be using the wrong You’re.
On map transitions I lost my sniper rifle. Why? I can’t tell the guns or ammo apart unless they’re actually sitting there in front of me, but when I leave a map to go to *the same map* only the next room, I don’t fully expect to have magically lost the weapons I was carrying.
Crashed fully to desktop only once, I think it was when I was dying and it tried to load an event, in the first elevator hallway. After that, didn’t have any further crash issues, but there was a considerable amount of lag when the maps were loading and when events were about to start – but this has been a consistent problem I want to say with all sdk 13 mods of late. (Spawning of enemies, etc, brings the mod to a halt until it finishes ‘thinking’, and then you can bet there’s a bunch of soldiers around the corner.) Speaking of spawning, enemies being shot down quickly, respawned literally right in front of my eyes. No ‘dropping from skylight’ or coming up from a corner, just straight up POOF there they are.
The art and textures were all very sound and used well, a bit repetitive but then the entire mod is very, very repetitive. The same concrete stairwells over the same water filled or junk laden strips, and the same back-area corridors around to the next concrete stairwell. I don’t know, again, whether this was just a single level of the game, I have to imagine it is, because there was no story to see and very little sense of progress since the entire area was exactly the same every time you turn around. When I started a second game, it was fullbright – no apparent reason, just no shading had remained on, not sure how that could happen.
Whoever the chick is ‘helping’ you, she sure does know how to shoot the back of my head. She would occasionally vanish entirely, only to show up wherever I was a moment after I’d cleared the place. Her suggestions of ‘stay down’ or whatever were … completely unnecessary, given that she was incapable of actually killing anything on her own, and wound up dying a couple times because she didn’t take her own advice.
All in all though, it was a challenging and fun mod. Honestly it could have been cut down to about 20 minutes if it wasn’t so repetitive. It felt like a shooting gallery at times, and since the pistol was both extremely accurate and very, very deadly, the real challenge came in ‘where the hell is the guy shooting at me’.
Very playable, but not really what I’d call a brilliant mod if the issues and porting quirks are to be taken seriously. I *absolutely loathe* ‘bad ports that are accurate to the original’. I am not playing the original. I’m playing a source mod, not a controller-only thing that never got mapped to a keyboard by someone who *uses* a keyboard. With the opportunity to make a mod better, *do that* instead of being slavishly dedicated to making people’s hands suffer with a very, very bad keyboard scheme.

I think my machine is to old (4years) to play this mod when I launch it through maptap I have the loading screen and suddenly it return to maptap 🙁
More than likely it’s not the age of your machine, even though they say ‘it’s got high resource needs’ it’s most likely you need to make sure you’re using the Beta SDK 13. There are instructions above on how to use it.
Sadly this fails for me on my iMac .. I’ve tried the SDK beta option too.
I’m a little bit gutted atm :/
Bummer.
Well, this is perhaps the slowest reply ever 😉 but I did manage to get this working. Of course it was as simple as in the other mod. Apple Mac users should copy client.dylib and server.dylib from this location : Steam/steamapps/common/Half-Life\ 2/hl2/bin/ into the bin folder of the mod.
However, no enemies shoot although they can throw grenades and hit you. Tried the second map and same result. I don’t think the key to action works also, so I wasn’t able to pick up boxes, etc…
Shame. Seems a brilliant mod this too….
I was surprised none the less when I seen this, and then seen that the developer took 6 years to work on it to get it at this state. I couldn’t not wait for the download to get finished fast enough.
Firstly let me say I have played the hell out of Killzone on PlayStation 2. So I went into this with absolute blind faith. Needless to say this is so accurate that given the time it took the developer to create it. It is amazing, if not the toughest half life 2 mod I have ever played.
Secondly I will tell you there were points, The immersion was broken. When the AI charge you in groups to over power you(typical Half Life AI), it is WOAH… OK… Killzone never did this. But given the source engine and the way the AI is coded, It is a gimmie. The other immersion breaker was the Helghast skins. Using Killzone 3 Skins was definitely like, ohh. Especially when you get the chance to take a good look at them.
Other than that with the limitations of the game engine I am impressed. The environment is nearly perfect. and the cut scenes added into the loading sequences where a nice but weird touch. I am kinda surprised that there has been yet any fallout from the choice that the developer made on that. Though I expect that Sony and/or Guerrilla Games could care less about an over 10 year old game at this point. Even if they released and HD version.
My third and final critique is the elephant in the room or the drone to be exact. The drone was so out of place that I felt, confused(putting it mildly). I was like WTF, pissed. It doesn’t belong. Other then nitpicking it to death. And the instal instructions being wrong when I original downloaded it(well it is still wrong). It goes like this (\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\). Just use MapTap to prevent any problems with manual installs.
If you have at any point wanted to play Killzone on your PC other than Emulation. Play this. Then Play it again. I am in full support of this modder/developer. And if I could I would Kickstart or Indiegogo this mod. And I would gladly dump a whole lot of my own personal money into a full Fan Remake.
Enjoy

I make a second try to play this one by installing it manually and it works 🙂
With this mod, I think the look was brilliant but it left a lot of mixed filling
all zone you pass through are really similar in term of design it’s always the same trigering for ennemies no real trap while your progress and when you pass a certain point hordes of bad guys arrive.
There is not a lot of exploring but at least when you seek in every corner you got rewards
The choice of weapon is interesting and well crafted and the fact that it take time to reload make a good frustration, sadly I mainly used the small pistol because it was the most efficient even with long distance
No real thinking in this one it’s pure combat, also your maid (perhaps you can write it in another way to say your friend but the french translation is good fitting for this girl 😀 ) is indestructible, it would have been a pain in this ass to keep her alive to finish he mission
Even if put lot of critisism I enjoy playing through this mod and finally my machine is not to old too and that’s great 🙂

Well I have to say this was absolutely interesting. Because playing this was an absolute cool and joy experience to me. At first, i got a little scared because the configuration of the Keys were a mess. But after some minutes fixing them, I could go on.
I guess what really amuses me of this mod, is how the author used the Source engine!! man that’s potential, I may be nuts, but I thought some parts really looked like if that game were an official PC release!! I hope the authors get some permission to recreate this game in Source. Though I barely see that possible, because as far as I understand this was like some kind of kid tribute to that game. I don’t know if one time i get a PS3 I’ll definitely try that game.
Now back to my point, the weapons were absolutely sweet and delicious to play with!! I mean it, those iron sights were pretty cool and professional, also the shooting skills were realistic enough, and the combat was always intense and thrilling, also pretty challenging, so I have to warn you this can be considered as a “difficult” combat mod, even on the basic-“easy” skill is hard.
The source engine fitted pretty nice to this project and in some parts make me wonder if the whole HL2 game could have been even better with those iron sights on the weapons, in my opinion yes. I hope the HL3 game can have some more work regarding the weapons and the realistic combat, because this mod just do it in some parts even better than the HL2 regular weapons.
About the shortfalls, in my opinion they’re just minor details. You know, like the weapons are pretty cool, but on the other hand, the reloading times for almost all the weapons, except the pistols, were dreadfully slow!!! Indeed, I got killed many times because I was in the middle of a super slow reloading procedure!! I also got stuck once but that was my fault as I missed a button to open a door, I almost noclip but i didn’t.
Anyway, in conclusion this was a great release to play. I seriously thought in giving it a PF recom. but I feel it was kind of short and the end came quite sooner than i expected. Despite that, the mapping is just awesome and the whole experience is nice and enjoyable. So Play it Now!!

Apart from some annoying issues, this is a great piece of work.
I have to play the original Killzone for over 5 years. I don’t remember a lot about it, but it was a pretty nice game IMO. The multiplayer was really fun too.
Now, on to the mod.
The gameplay is really nice, but it’s very difficult. I don’t know if it’s the combat or the environment but still, this is a pretty tough mod. There are also new weapons added, but there’s also this new feature where you can only carry a primary and a secondary weapon. So, if you’re used to HL games, where you can hold many weapons at the same time, then you’re gonna have a bad time. Most rifles are pretty well designed, but the pistol (like every console FPS) is overpowered as s**t. I also believe that the key bindings for the weapons are wrong. You can change them, I know, but seriously, who uses 2 for the knife?
The mapping is great, but I believe that it got repetitive sometimes and I SWEAR there are some recycled areas. Apart from that though, the mapping is pretty good overall. The combat is nice too, but when the Helghasts die, they make this loud scream which is really annoying. (may seem dumb) Also, your AI companion can be stuck sometimes, but it’s not that serious.
Overall, I definitely recommend this mod. The gameplay is fun, the combat is great, the new content is really cool, but apart from that, prepared to be frustrated.
Despite having the correct Source SDK Base 2013 SinglePlayer Beta install this would not load correctly from MapTap, or Gauge as it is now known. There would be a brief shot of the start-up image and then straight back to Gauge. However when I installed it manually it ran fine.
This was fun up to a point but when the most effective weapon is a basic pistol there has to be something wrong. The pistol fires straight and true taking out virtually every target with two clean shots. Reload time was quick and I found myself using it far more than any of the other weapons. Slow reload times and recoil inaccuracies made the heavyweight guns far too unreliable.
Yeah, It’s a good mod, just tactical shooty shooty bang bang games aren’t my cup of tea.
Not my cup of tea.
