I actually really enjoyed this. There are a few jump scares but there is also some well-crafted atmosphere.
The combat is sparse enough to make feel right within the level.
It’s quite large but won’t take much more than 10 to 15 minutes.
I got stuck at one part and the solution is obvious when told but I feel could be made clearer.
All in all, this is a fun little release and I do recommend you play in the dark.

Cool ambiance, some scary moment, some nice touch and design, a good break for a christmas day
The second part felt a little bit disapointing regarding the start and the dynamite puzzle also a little frustrated by the end even if it makes sense
It sure make sense to test it and enjoy (or not) it in you own way

A simple scary mod. In some part, the mapping is really well made, and in other parts, it lacks details…
The few jumpscares were not really scary and were like those horror maps you could find on the Garry’s Mod Workshop. But they were well made!
The end was… er… meh, but with all the clues during the gameplay, it was the better way to end this mod, and it was completely normal.
In conclusion: if you have some time to spend, go and play it!

I figured out what’s happening, not much except invisible walls here and there, for example try to walk down a wide straight corridor holding a flare.
So I deleted it with one simple click (thanks Gauge!). Having not finished it, I can’t rate it. Too bad!
Had an odd glitch with this one that I have had with some other mods.
When using the movement keys, (i.e. forward backward, etc.) it keeps on moving after I let go of the key. So the character walks into walls etc and stays there until whatever is causing this runs out and sometimes this causes the character to walk into an area when I just want to peek in without entering. Is there some sort of setting that keeps the motion key active or multiplies the length of time that I have it pressed? Very frustrating and almost impossible to complete a game with this happening. Can anyone offer a solution?
Thanks in advance
Weird. Does this only happen with this mod? Was something stuck on your keyboard? I ask because it happened to me once.
Hi Phillip
No not the first time. I’ve had this happen with a number of mods, though not all of them. Maybe my laptop is just getting too old for gaming. Though I don’t have this issue with the regular games.
Just had the same issue with “Operation X” mod.
Thanks for any assistance with this problem.

Hi Phillip
Oddly, when I went back and tried again, that glitch had stopped. No idea what was different but it seems it might be something my laptop was doing…maybe a CPU usage issue…as in 99% CPU usage according to Task Manager.
Not a bad alternative map for me. It’s pretty good throughout but I admit I was starting to get a little tired of the constant eerie background sounds after a while. I know there’s gotta be atmosphere but I’d still like it less dark. But having said that it has great colours and the map is designed very well.
The early tunnel scene got me. Shame it knocks off so many health points… Gotta say it’s a little obscure at times and I imagine the initial dynamite scene gets everyone. It’s quite obvious after you’ve knocked it out but it didn’t seem so at first at and was sick of wandering back n forth trying to figure things out lol
Good map but not something I’d normally go for. Feels more like Doom3 🙂
I like horror themed maps so I decided to give this one a go. The atmosphere and visuals are pretty well done. Gameplay is somewhat sparse but personally I don’t think this is a problem in these kind of maps. The part with the custom made TNT-charge and the ‘unshootable’ explosive barrel took me a little while to get through as the visual communication doesn’t match that of HL2 for 100%. There are some jumpscares here and there; some didn’t do much for me but the one in the bathroom-esque part of the map was neatly executed!
All in all a map that certainly deserves a playthrough, especially if the horror genre appeals to you!

I personally do not really like horror maps, but I decided to give this one a go.
The atmosphere is well crafted; it’s very unsettling. There are some jumpscares as well, some of them I found to be a bit too cheap, but most of them worked.
As for the gameplay, it’s a bit of puzzle solving. I found some of the puzzles annoying because of the lack of hints as to what I am supposed to do/achieve.
As for the combat, it’s almost non-existent, there are only a handful of enemies throughout the map.
The ending is a bit unsatisfying but it kind of fits the map.

Scare level: Typical Garry’s mod horror map with elements of shooting. But I liked the puzzles on the map.

To start off, way too dark for my liking. It’s hard on my eyes to only focus on where my flashlight is pointing. That’s a just a skill issue though.
There are two “sections” to this map. The first “section” is pretty easy. A few zombies here and there. Rotting flesh, flares, and dead bodies. I loved this section. Great introduction to this map.
The “end” of this section is where I got really damn stuck. I don’t know why it took me as long as it did. I looked at comments on this page, on the gmod page, I even decompiled the map. I finally figured it out.
BREAK THE STONE AROUND THE TNT (image 12)! I can’t believe it took me that long to figure it out.
The second “section” of this map was smooth sailing again until I came across a corridor blocked off by a few wooden planks. Keep trying to break those planks. Eventually it will break. I thought it was another one of those fakeouts that makes me think I can break this wood, but nope. Just really really strong wood.
The ending was… confusing.
