Anyone have this mod crash climbing the ladder and getting into the helicopter tried to move into the cockpit and game crashes?
It didnt crash on me just went to the menu.Thats the end of it.
Wish I could remember the theme that was used in this mod.I remember playing the game..Kingpin?
Yes it looks like this game ends in the helicopter which is ok just a non structured ending similar to lots of early HL1 games.
Once you find you way through the opening sets this mod turns into a fast flowing if linea game with plenty of shot outs. Design is very boxy with basic textures, some new stuff but low quality a few minor bugs like doors not tiggering first time. So all in all not too much to get excited about, but never the less a enjoyed the game finding it fun and it’s the fun factor that counts for me, so go play and a have bit of fun. I rated it a bit on the high side 7/10.
Well, at least there is a consistent motif here, the city motif, with lots of new decor. At the beginning it is clearly a beginner’s map, but it picks up along the way. It manages to avoid a lot of pitfalls for beginners, like haphazard environments, too ambitious set-ups or puzzles. It’s well balanced, and not too boring. Some door-puzzles are nicely tied in to cut-scenes, so you know what you are doing. Not bad at all for a beginner. Still, a bit bland, and no really special or spectacular things.
Yep, as above, just average, blocky at the start, gets better. One or two original ideas, like an elevator going at different angles. Just grunts and ninjas to fight. Nice environment (the city).

I like the environment or atmosphera in this mod!, actually recently I played a mod for the author of this job called “pimp my car”, that’s why I recognized the textures, I know for some people this kind of mods are actually horrible but for me was cool to play it, it has a funky feeling like an anarchist-punk mayhem, is hard to find in HL mods, I also liked the weapons and that magnum was really cool to use, it felt so different from the classy magnum we’re used to in HL, also combat is in the right place and that part where u are in the factory that torutres assasains was funnythe textures are kind of darky sometimes but u can solve that with the flashlight, also sometimes the path to follow wasn’t quite clear but u can figure out wih a little patience, and I only had problems to open one door at the beggining of the mod.
Overal my recomendation is to play it because this was different from all the typical hl mods i’ve played recently, most of all because of the 100 DoN here in PP. Also I think is curious how in 2005 we still had production of hl maps and mods, and now 6 years after, we barely can see something new in the old HL1 engine.
I also noticed right away that this was by the author of pimp my car. I actually have a version of this that has new weapons and enemies and sounds instead of the normal HL ones.
12-map mod with several customized content such as weapons and sounds. Also customized models for Barney, scientists and soldiers.
The mod itself has nothing to do with HL or BM. It’s more like a homage to the old 90’s FPS game “Kingpin – Life of Crime”. It also contains music of the Kingpin game (Cypress Hill).
Therefore there are lot of new textures, prefabs as well.
There is no story, nor puzzles and the game is very linear.
It contains a short subway ride and several elevator rides.
The usual thing to do is killing gangster just as in Kingpin. There are even some areas which have the same layout as in Kingpin.
It all takes place in a city, so there are some outdoor areas but mostly it’s tight indoor rooms and corridors. Nonetheless there are also some larger rooms.
Mapping is quite good and the lighting is very nice.
A few of the many crates can be broken to find goodies.
Barneys can help you out in combat just as in HL, while the “scientists” are pretty useless.
The major negatives of “Hardman” are the missing story and puzzles, but the worst is balancing.
Although the gangster usually use shotguns the mod is easy to beat as there is lot of health and ammo, even for the Magnum. I suggest to play on “hard”.
However, it’s fun while it lasts, to finish the game you’ve to ride a elevator up in a large building.
There is one stop, so you have to proceed even more up with the elevator.
Until you reach the rooftop.
Pro’s:
-Customized things like models, weapons, sounds and music
-Unique setting, non-HL universe (but similar to “Kingpin – Life of Crime”)
-Decent combat, but with balancing issues
-Solid mapping with good layouts and lighting
-Some cutscenes
-Secret areas
-Good playtime (~30-60 minutes)
-No bugs
Con’s:
-No story
-No puzzles (finding buttons is no puzzle in my eyes)
-Balancing – too easy combat, too much ammo
-Also stupid AI
-Movement keys in config file have to be added manually (config.cfg in mod folder)
-Many locked doors
-Very linear gameplay as there is always only one way to progress
-Disappointing end
perfect for tbt.
Very easy, linear and stupid. But with no bugs.

I have removed your Recommendation image because the review is too short for 1 hour’s play and it is too generic.
