5 rooms, 10 grunts, no ending.
I suppose that most will hate this but actually I quite enjoyed playing it. Yes, the rooms are bland and there’s no way for the crates to get in there, the last room is a waste of time, at least that’s the way it seems.
I couldn’t find a way to open the cages, can you?
The challenge is in the gameplay, not exploring or puzzle solving, so if you like a coffee break map then this could be for you, otherwise give this one a miss.
Not the worst so far as it looks as though some (not a lot) of thought went into it. Its another one that looks as though it should have been part of something larger, as it is its not even long enough to qualify as a coffee break map.
The layout was not great but I’ve seen worse and I don’t like mods where when you’ve killed every enemy all that’s left to do is wander around scratching your bum. Essentially the map is a tomb with no entry/exit and even if you could open the cages it wouldn’t have made it better.
After killing all the grunts I used the remaining ammo to see if I could break some crates, some did but some didn’t and those that did contained nothing.
Here we have to clean the warehouse from enemies. This warehouse consists of a few rectangular rooms. For creating these rooms, only one texture was used! That’s a record.
The rooms are filled with enemies, different crates. There are also some bridges, and some props. In the end we will find a few cages with monsters.
Here we can practice the shooting a little, and then practice jumps, jumping from crate to crate.
That’s all. Once again, we have a map which contains nothing besides the gameplay. Even the ending is absent.
Odd. I would of figured all those guns in front of my face when I spawned were meant to be traded for food. That the grunts with their fingers on the triggers were there to protect me. That the caged aliens were pets and the caged black ops were black labor 🙂 (Sorry, bad joke). I guess that’s why they shot me then!
Yeah, short little map, fun enough to go around and hunt the what, 14 grunts? Liked the idea of cages. Strangely made me want to play Timeline…
Well I don’t see the need to mention what has been said already. Just want to say this was a short map in a one-texture warehouse with a platoon of grunts and some zoo exhibits at the end. You are given a large arsenal in the beginning much like when the army came to the office. So I guess the appropriate title for this map would be “when the army came to the warehouse’
Basically this is just a few rooms with Grunts, without any point or challenge it’s hardly worth the download. Some positive attempt have been made to design and furnish the sets to an acceptable level, with an array of crates and cages plus an overhead gantry to one room showing same degree of effort on the part of the author.
The end result is a meaningless map that may have served has a start to something, but beyond that I see no purpose in its release, except of course to kill a few Grunts.
Weell this is another 5 seconds map, with close combat environments I think is kind of depressing when there’s no cool stuff to play and u only have to play this maps 🙁
What a waste of time. Play cautiously and you’ll not even need to use the health chargers in the first room. I thought there was more to the map, so I checked this page and the comments and then was even more disappointed.
This looks like someone’s second map (the first being a single test room). Bad texturing, default lighting, rectangular everything. Randmap spits out better looking and more fun maps than this.
Pros:
Working HEV and Health Chargers
Cons:
Just a few rooms connected by hallways
Short less than 1-2 mins play
Easy to beat
Doesn’t end, no fade-out nor a solid ending. All you do is kill the Marines and you are done.
Overall: AVOID.
Not too bad a map.
This is basically just a short action action map which requires you to kill grunts. A little too easy but what do you expect? Worth it if you just want to shoot some grunts. Although it probably wasn’t intentional, you can kill the vortigaunts when their arms stick out of the metal cages.
A fun map which can be done in less than 5 minutes.
Oh, and the reason I gave it a “Think Twice” was because it is “Only for real fans”
I found this map to be rather bland. The map appears to be a basic beginners map of a few rooms linked together with enemies scattered about.
The rooms themselves seem to be reasonably detailed with enough cover scattered through the room. The only downside was that the layout didn’t really make much sense.
I thought that the cage room was interesting and could have been used as part of a storyline but as it was it didn’t have much purpose.
As it is, this map is not much but if it was placed into a larger setting it may have been worth playing. Overall, this map is alright for a 5 minute break if you’re desperate for something to play.
This review might actually be almost as short as my Desert of Doom one. Okay, so you start in a room with a pistol, a shotgun, an MP5, 2 health and 2 HEV chargers. There are boxes too, some of which you can break and some of which you can’t, but none of them contain anything. There are 2 doors. The left one takes you to some grunts but nothing else, the right one takes you to some grunts and another door. These grunts are easy to kill, because there are crates in the way you can peek out from behind and shoot at them. Through the next door is a huge room with some more grunts, some on the floor and some on the catwalk above. This room would be hard if you couldn’t run back into the first room to get more health, but you can. It should be mentioned that all of these rooms are blandly textured and boxy (although the catwalk room is somewhat better designed). From the catwalk room, you can go left into another room. This room has some aliens and some assasins in cages. You can look at these cages. There is nothing else to do.
In short? Don’t play this one either.
A tiny map with only four more or less big, boxy rooms. No details, pretty textures or anything enjoyable visuals here.
The only enemies are… how did you know, Einstein?? Some aliens and assassins are hold in cages in one room, god knows why.
There is like everything important missing here besides the mapping and graphics I already mentioned.
That includes a story, puzzles, atmosphere and every other essential thing to make it a good map such as at least a few scripts.
The only good thing is, that you’ve the HEV suit and chargers, health chargers and some weapons right at the start, but imo there’s no need for the chargers anyway. So balancing is also a negative thing here.
After killing all grunts there’s nothing to do, no exit or something like that.
Pro’s:
-HEV suit and weapons at start, also two health- and two HEV chargers
-Some combat
Con’s:
-Very, very short playtime (~1-3 minutes)
-No story, puzzles, scripts
-Poor, basic mapping (at least good lighting)
-No atmosphere, no scripts, no variety, no fun
-Balancing – it would be better if there wouldn’t be health & HEV chargers
-No readme, no infos about the map
-No point at all
Why does this map even exist?
It’s just 3 rooms with 10 grunts and some crates. That’s it.
There’s no point for this map to exist at all.
Some rooms with grunts, that’s about all I have to say about this.
It’s a walk in the park. Go to the open and shoot everyone on Easy or hide and snipe everyone on Hard. Up to you.
