Single map. Almighty battle agains human grunts in an Aztec type temple. Good design and lighting. Gameplay is fast and furious. Enjoyable.

Faraon 2 should load after this map if you have downloaded it, but the map transition is bugged. So try loading it seperately. I had no success.

Not sure how many Faraon’s there are? My records refer to Faraon 3-4 which are spoiled by lots of bugs and confusing gameplay and having no structured ending. Lots of good combat but not much else.
Having read pilerdriver comments I may download and replay, however, for the time being think twice.

  3. I’ve added 6 screenshots kindly supplied by pildriver.

This is a fairly good combat-focused (human grunts) map, but it’ll be quite difficult unless you go slowly. Luckily there’s sufficient weapons and ammos lying around. If you enjoy it you can also download Faraon 2, 3, and 4, which I did of course.

    Rating: 65%
Recommendation: Play it, or play it now if you like difficult combats with haman grunts.

  7. Maybe?

Sweet gruntfest map with unique, “Conundrum”-style design and plenty of combat, weapons & ammo. The weapons & ammo are already available right from the start.
There’s only one area, we start in one of three little houses with the mentioned goodies, and outside is a large Egyptian-style temple. That’s where the action takes place mostly.
So head inside and find a way deeper in it…

The action is hard, but fair and not impossible due to plenty of ammo. But sometimes it can be a little due to the sheer amount of soldiers, and even more are coming!
I like the setting, design of the temple and lighting, it looks very good.
It’s only a pity that there’s no real story about it, and also no puzzles.
After cleaning out the temple, which can take a while, we find a way more deeper inside the building. And that’s where “Faraon” ends. So go check out “Faraon 2”!

    Pro’s:
-Very good mapping, archtitecture and lighting
-Excellent combat action, plenty of ammo
    -Good balancing
    -Good atmosphere
    -Lot of equipment at start

    Con’s:
    -No story
    -No puzzles
-Very short playtime (around 10 minutes)
    -Only grunts
    -Not much variety
    -Sudden end (try “Faraon 2”)
-Ammo for Magnum, but no Magnum?
    -Makes hungry for more

  8. Think Twice

This oddly disjointed little map pack has been released as individual maps and so I will review each one separately.

Faraon, the first in a four map series is a gruntfest with what I believe is supposed to be an Egyptian theme. A desert structure with a winding path up to the top with grunts spawning at all angles. It is quite a frustrating experience, especially on hard, as you will pick up a cluster of health kits only to be ambushed by a squad of grunts with ARs and hand grenades that whittle you right back down into the red.

The use of space is fantastic, but the player is massively under equipped for most of the map and health and armour are an incredibly rare treat.

  9. Maybe?

Great first arena and fight. Took me 12min to beat first fight with only dying a handful of times. Cool atmosphere inside tomb with the flicking red light.

  10. Maybe?

Single vs Grunts short map, this was very fun 15 minutes, But it has problem with loading next faraon 2 map (https://www.runthinkshootlive.com/posts/faraon2/)

  11. Play It Later

The first part is quite good acceptable, since it’s possible to eliminate most of the grunts from the distance even with a handgun. The level is quite big, there’s enough room for avoiding even launched AR. But be sencere there’s too many grunts here LOL.
