About
Wait a moment for you to regain consciousness, and you’ll find yourself stuck in a jail. The outside landscape looks like the usual Black Mesa you have been working at, but the complex looks unfamiliar. Turn around to face away from the jail window, and in the dark corner away from the unconscious scientist. . .

I can’t get it extracted. Most mods I try to get downloaded, such as Black Death, have this weird DLL problem. But, with this mod and Azure Sheep, I extract them to C:/SIERRA/Half-Life and they don’t appear on the custom games menu. Does anybody know how they can help, with the DLLs and the extraction problem?
Check for double folders. Sometimes the ZIP or RAR file has the directory files already in it of the game file aleready named so all you have to do is extracto to C:\SIERRA\Half-Life or whatever instead of creating a new directory of \asheep or whatever the mod is.
This is a single map.
Extract the zip to a temp location.
Copy/paste escape.bsp to the valve/maps folder
Copy/paste escape.nod to the valve/maps/graphs folder
If an unzipped file only contains .bsp and/or .nod files then follow the above instructions.
And read the readme if there is one.
Mods only go in the Half-Life folder and appear on the custom games list if they have their own correct folder and substructure. This is not often the case with small maps/mods
Short, with an unusual layout, basic and boxy design. Just a matter of fighting your way against Grunts through very small hut type buildings. No structured ending and I’m guessing it comes when you meet Barney.
Little tough gruntfest, small area but it can be tricky to survive here.
No weapon, nor HEV suit at start, uff! How to manage a successful escape?
Being imprisoned it’s usually required to take a look around, what can you see?
Isn’t that the… ? Yes! But how to reach..? Hmm…
So that’s the first and last puzzle as the map is very short and just tiny.
Besides that fact and just mentioned the upcoming combat is difficult.
You’re only armed with a crowbar at first!
After a short while you should get the AR and eventually find a shotgun to compete with the fiercely domination of grunts.
And then, the spring cleaning is over and you need to find a way out of this weird place.
While the combat is very hard and it lacks of health and HEV batteries the atmosphere is quite thrilling, even though it’s a very simple, boxy map – just as mel said.
The reason is that you need to find a tactic to proceed alive.
I liked the lighting and layout of the houses, also the enemy placement. It just isn’t made that easy to win these fights.
It’s a pity it ends abruptly and there’s no story, or no more puzzles, other interesting areas, stuff like that. There’s also not much variety – weapons, enemies etc.
Pro’s:
-Balancing, maybe some say it’s very unbalanced, but there’s only limited ammo and very tough combat, which makes it interesting, it’s not unfair in my eyes – just be careful!
-Sweet lil map, architecture is quite poor but I liked the view, house placement
-Action – compared to the size and playtime of the map
-Tactics required, rushing in is no good idea
-Interesting beginning
-Intense how-to-surivive? atmosphere
Con’s:
-Very short playtime (~5-15 mins, can be done in seconds if you want)
-Lacks of variety (weapons, enemies, mapdesign)
-No HEV at start (take a closer look!)
-Maybe an unfair beginning
-No real story
-Sudden end
-Overall looking quickly made, maybe a competition map?
Result: “Perfect” and ultra-short, but difficult gruntfest-snack during a break 😉
