room.part1.exe is only the first part of a spanned installation. ALL the files are needed for it to work.
This mod will not run; wad file missing valve/eif_room.wad
You have to have “room.part2.rar” ! After you DL the file, rename the file room.part1.exe to room.part1.rar, then extract both files together and ya got all the files!! It does work fine for me but is a strange one indeed! I think the language is in Russian, and there is no “readme” Hope this helps ya’ll
Thankyou AI.
Small as a mouse you will explore a boys room to find the teleport. Well known monsters are waiting under the sofa, behind the monitor, in corners and so on. Bridges and ladders lead you to stored weapons and more enemies. Fun for more than an hour, it is very well done.
Installation is easy: Rename the first file room.part1.exe to room.part1.rar then get the second file room.part2.rar and unrar both files in your half-life directory. A new folder will be created for a new custom game.
I wonder why nobody recompressed both files together for filecloud, it is worth.
Because they were released separately.
Overall well made “rat” map, maybe mappers own gaming room? Voice acting (russian), no idea what that guy is talking about.
What I was hoping to see more was interaction with the map. It would be fun to play few tunes with those pianos etc, (or like OneSneakyMouse had in his maps – if you shot lightswitch, room turned dark), now it was more like going here and there, but not really knowing there you should go.
I was getting bored rather soon, but had to continue. Wasn’t worth it, few big boys and that was it..
The best and only one worth playing of the EIF maps. It’s some sort of “Mimicus” as the author rebuild his room and you’re some sort of Toy Story miniature Freeman inside it. Some aliens are spawning and you’ve plenty of weapons to make them silent.
Pro’s:
-Good mapping, but average – ugly lighting in Direct3D (OpenGL is slower)
-Decent combat, good balancing
-Lot of weapons and ammo (just couldn’t find the shotgun, but ammo for it)
Con’s:
-Short playtime (~10-30 mins)
-No story, no puzzles
-Bad lighting
-Some perfomance issues
-No end?
