Sorry, but this map really isn’t much fun. Put aside the brightness issue for now because I don’t think it would make any difference to how much fun it was to play.
I tried the map in EP2 but it was still over bright.
I’d be interested to hear if readers had normal Combine textures.
Anyway, you have to destroy two or three gunships and one chopper, in addition there are a few Combine soldiers to kill.
There’s a hidden cache with a teleport to the middle of the base, if you can find it.
I’m sorry, but blinding white textures always makes a difference in how fun something is to play. Given, this map is bad even without the texture problem, but you would actually be able to see a weapons cache right by the entrance door if it wasn’t blindingly white.
And why look for a teleporter when you can just climb the sand around the walls and jump the wall because the maker didn’t care to prevent the player from doing so?
Oh right, because then I got stuck in a place I apparently wasn’t supposed to go, quit the map and moved on.
I probably didn’t beat it by doing that…
Thanx for the feedback,
the thing with the “easter egg” is that you were supposed to jump upp in the corner and walk on the roof that way. I sure didn’t “forget” it! xD
the glaring white:
like said: Run “Buildcubemaps” in the console and the brightness will be fixed.
Hi and thanx for the feedback. Now I say: Well, at first this map was uploaded to FPSBanana.com, by me, and I made a misstake according to the brightness. The map have to build the cubemaps, like I said on FPSBanana.com. Do that by:
– open the map in the game
– Type: “Buildcubemaps” in the console
and it will reload the map and the reflections is done!
I played this. I am complete barmy, of course.
There’s worse arena style maps.
The Combat is hard but not enjoyable, just frantic. Thinking not required.
The white glare is awful and “buildcubemaps” does not correct it.
Not recommended.
Good GOD!
If you can get over the annoying fullbright in this map, you’ll get even more pissed when you notice that it is nothing but a stupid arena map!
There is nothing new to be added to the arena style maps. In the end, its just another BLAND, BORING, BADLY-MADE MAP.
This is a 5 minutes map. There is a problem with brightness and no end.
However action is good, fighting a respawning gunship and a chopper at the same time is quite amazing. And don’t forget the easter-egg.
I had to use god – frantic and not fun! It’s all been said above.
