Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3

This is an unfinished project that Richman has decided to release.

There is no combat and I had to load a couple of maps manually.

The final 4 images were taken with cheats on.

These are interesting looking maps and I am sure if they were connected with some combat maps later on they would have set the stage nicely.

I did experience some issues running the maps with MapTap and manually, but since there is no combat they will have limited appeal anyway.

Only recommended for other mappers and serious Black Mesa fans.

  2. Ah I know that smaller mappack as well as all his other mappacks. This one is really great. It’s just a pity that he never finished any of his mappacks as side of the hazard course of course.

The train area and the window area where you see the little submarines diving were my favourite scenes in it.

    @Phillip:

Try his time shift mappack. That’s awesome I even reconstructed some areas from that for my own mod as I simply loved it so much. Every mapper can get tons of inspiration from that mappack. I wish Richmann would restart those mappacks.

And don’t forget to keep checking in the FTP folders I created for you. There’re still some impressive mods inside and at least one doesn’t have an active dl link anymore.

  3. Hmm.. is that a different version than from Richman’s site? (5 maps right?)
Cause this one is bigger here and I can’t download from here somehow, no download window appears, just a cryptical textfile in Firefox like opening a *.dll in Notepad hehe ugh..

    1. Yes, it’s the same file but this one includes the opfor.WAD file.

The reason FF is showing those characters is because it needs to be set to save .7z files. At the moment it is trying to open them.

    2. Right click then click Save Link As.

      1. lol yes thank you guys, I should have known hehe, it works with right-click & save 😉

  4. It looks like it might have been interesting if the author completed the work and worked out the bugs. During the few minutes I spent on it I noticed bad lighting and buggy doors that only opened once. Also I went into an elevator and everything went dark. On the plus side I liked the opening sequence and the miniature sub that I saw floating around

Richman does good jobs but this is obviously too unfinished, and if u like nice layout and mapping architecture you sould try this.

In opengGL video mod the maps available just gett too much sttutered and is annoying, set the video mode to 3D

It’s just empty iin some parts and there’s no combat at all, so I added impulse 101 and have some action for myself fighting against pissed off Barneys that I shooted and I kill some nerd scientist as johnny cash song say “just to watch em die” haha 😉 that added some little action to the maps but well that was not necessary , well I hope to see some other richman’s jobs but this time better and not only focussed in puzzles and with some more action.

Yes, it’s indeed a pity this never was finished, it could’ve been something very cool if some combat and a few changes here and there.
Now, it’s simply like a short demo.. with some flaws.

    Pro’s:
-Interesting setting, good underwater atmosphere at start
-Decent mapping with a few scripts

    Con’s:
    -No combat
    -Looking very unfinished
    -Very short
-Bugs (doors) and/or ugly lighting (too bright)
-Lot of closed doors, almost no interaction

Unfortunately this is a set of not-even-beta maps, so don’t go in expecting a playable game, or even a demo.

While there are some interesting areas with cool atmosphere and clever sequences here and there, the maps themselves are a bit of a mishmash. I couldn’t play all of them through (had to load lab1b manually after entering an elevator in lab1a just cut to a black screen). And a couple of the maps are not fully compiled, which is why they show up as fullbright and might slow your framerate a little as you walk around. The areas that are fully compiled are attractive, and you do get a pretty good sense of an underwater base.

It’s hard to judge cause there just isn’t much here, and what is here isn’t polished. That said, it was interesting to see for some of the areas.

  8. The download link is broken, it says “hl1-deep-sea-laboritory.7z”, the real file is called “hl1-deep-sea-laboratory.7z”.

  9. I seem to be having issues being able to download the map (with or without correcting the typo).

Should be working now. Damn Phillip and his spelling, no idea how it got changed, sorry!

  10. Maybe?

Well this is station where there’s no train to leave. G-man is no talking at all. There’re 3 sea docks to get into submarine and they are all empty and look quite dangerous, if you open one of the doors, all the base underground is completly gone. There’s one lift into the water but is not operative. There’re so many doors and so many exists just to knowhere lol.
