You ARE the deadly cargo!
You are being transported somewhere but foolishly they left a crowbar in your “cell”.
You have waited until the train has stopped and now it’s time to escape.
“This is the sequel to a map I made called Arlington but was to large for this site.
You have been captured by the Combine and being transported in a train, the object is to escape and help rebels”

Very interesting unique gameplay progression. Confused after killing all the combine and with the rebels, nowhere to go (I tried everywhere including “up and over” but its a dead end?)
interesting use of in and out progresssion through a metro (screenshot) but once you are out and take contact with your squad there is no futher things to explore another less than 10 min gameplay
I don’t give AVOID IT! recommendations very often, but this really isn’t very much fun. The train gives no room for interesting encounters with enemies and the fact that you have a gun and they mostly have stun sticks makes it worse.
The outdoor area is totally wasted and unless I did something very wrong, you get stuck at the end.
Save yourself ten minutes and do something more interesting, like watch me play it!

Like Phillip said, this map isn’t very interesting or fun. The architecture and the lighting I thought were mostly OK, but they could easily be considered bad by anyone else. The train is just a simple non-moving train with a few metrocops to kill and the outside area was very bland and blocky. This could have been good for 2005 standards, but it’s not so fun to play now.
Overall, give this map a play only if you wanna play everything from this site.
I was very confused playing Deadly Cargo. It starts off with you in a cell in a train. You get a crowbar and get out of the train and kill some zombies and headcrabs. At that part, 1 minute in the mod mind you, I was already confused where to go next. I ended up noclipping back into the train, outside the cell. After that there was some combat involving CP’s, but this was uninteresting because most of the CP’s had stunsticks, and I had a gun, as Philip mentione in his review. I got out of the train again and there was now an outside area, which looked really blocky. After progressing a little further I met a wall and there was no way to continue. After noclipping around the map to see if I had missed anything, I gave up.

Trust me, this was not good in 2005 standards either. Unfortunately there are so many problems with this small map, it’s quite an achievement to pack it so tightly.
The problems start with getting out of the first area. It’s unclear what to do and I had a really fiddly time even getting the crowbar (which you can’t see anyway). Add some invisible walls and simply reaching a dead end you get stuck in that is apparently the end of the map, and you get a true map to avoid.

Overall a dreadful map. Very bad laid out, and to me, it seems like the whole train map was broken. so I have not much more to say…
Possibly this was the first work ever of this author.
Things like this shouldn’t be released. So if you have something similar, please never show it up.

I still don’t get what this map is supposed to be. First of all you start in a train as a prisoner (idk) then you have to jump out of the window, after that ur outside and then u have to go inside the train again. In there u have to kill like 15 CPs with like zero ammo.
I just don’t get what this map is supposed to be
And btw, the map has no ending

This is the first map I played after my comeback. What a delusion.
This map is just run straight while killing cops. After that you breach out the train and kill more cops. It ends with you stuck in a hole, without a real ending.
2/10, would like to get stuck in a hole again, like old times.

Horrible and unprocessed map. I do not advise anyone to play

Personally this map could be a decent half life map if you shaped it up a bit more. The quality seems pretty good and then it just kinda dips. But keep at it and keep trying to improve

This is kind of an unfortunate case.
I was really excited to play this map when I first installed it. With a name like “Deadly Cargo”, how can you fault me right? so I looked past the average rating and loaded it up. What I found was something that defies all logic. I expected a standard HL2 map with crates and maybe set on a freight train or in a warehouse. But no, you spawn on a train (you are the deadly cargo, hurdee durdely) and the map gives you a crowbar. Now, this is where my playthrough deviates from most of the others I’ve read or seen, because instead of finding the breakable window to my right, I instead managed to push the bar from the door and ran through the train. Blasting my way through enemies, (who can hit you through the doors, I might add) I come face to face with what appears to be a dead end. After running to and from the enclosed space numerous times, I started to wonder if this was the whole map. Eventually, I find the way to go, a breakable window in the last accessible train car. I finally leave only to discover not only is the fight that I heard outside over, but that the map more or less ends here. There’s one more bit, but it ends with a drop down into ammo and nothing else. No “Thanks for Playing” or anything. I thought the map glitched out. I restarted and played through the map again only to find that no, this is the whole level! That’s when I decide to noclip and look at the geometry to see if the mapper was at least good at their job.
No nodraws.
Not one.
Not only was the level short and basic, but so too was the level design and seemingly the mapper’s skills with the Hammer editor as well. Of course, I must factor in the fact it was 2005, but with some of the other releases of 2005, and the fact that this was updated in 2018 makes the flaws inexcusable.
