I know that not everybody will like this mod but putting aside the flaws I actually really enjoyed it. I especially liked the final outdoor section, although it needed much more beta testing because I completed it in a way that clearly the authors didn’t intend and if I hadn’t gone back to replay a section I would have missed some interesting sections.
It’s not perfect and not even set in the HL universe but it’s still fun.
I called it a “partial conversion” because most things have been replaced but not everything.
The combine looks bad ass
I’d call it more of a reskin+retexture
Didn’t care for it, the combines looked kinda like the enemies in Quake 4. Also, I found that in certain parts of the game I experienced some bug prob’s ( causing very low frame rates ) and in other parts it ran very smooth.
It needed to be thoroughly tested and fixed before being released. Overall it was somewhat fun, but not to my liking. It was more of a “Mars” combine base type HL 2 EP 2 MOD..( if that’s what you like, go for it ) personally, I like trees, mountains, caverns and urban fighting…etc, than a “Mars” HL 2 MOD environment…
I enjoyed this one, especially the stupid grins on the faces of the slaves (if that’s what they are). I didn’t give it 5 stars because it was a bit short and it crashed at one point.
It’s easy to see that the author spent a lot of time and effort on it. More please….

Good one! Real different with some nice puzzles and great use of colors-wow-very bright at times. It was fun and would really like to play more from these people-good job guys!
Nice work.
I liked the fact it was a conversion. It’s good to see different skins and new machinery doing unfathomable things around the place. Large open areas were good to wander around in and the way forward was always easy to find.
Fun to watch the Mech Antlion get justice when I killed it and it went down into the killing blades.
It was a bit short, I was just getting into it when it ended.
Worth the download though and I’d recommend it to anyone.
Sirocco
Big dissapoint. The mod begins with a excellent premise, wich I would love to saw more developed, the new skins are really nice -especially those of the antlions- and the overall level desing it’s very good, but the mod it’s quite too short. I downloaded a mod of over 200 megabytes and finished it in barely 30 mintues.
So, download it if you want to play a nice (just nice) and short mod, otherwise, let it for another day.

Found this one interesting in some aspects, and disapointing in others. The “Slaves” as they were called by Len cracked me up. I found my self wanting to start beating the hell out of them after a while, just could not bring myself to do it.They play was quite easy all through and I did not find any real challenge. I also do not know if I finished it. got the destroyed building and not much else to do, find, may be missing something, will check again later.Overall some good work, nothing spectacular.
I’ve gotten stuck in the outdoor section (the pit?), and cant” figure out how to proceed. Anyone have a hint here?
Look for a section of the area blocked by wooden boards, break them and continue. Image 6 and 24 show you where you go, although not the opening I mentioned.
Are you talking about the entrance to the mineshaft above the building, thru which you need to go to get to the side where the bridge is, or is it within the shaft itself?
I cant get started on this one, walk through the first two areas until the area with stairs up to the left, then what?
I finally had to noclip to get into the tower in the outside section, and to get back out. I have NO idea what I missed to get me into it, but I finally wandered around on the other side and got trapped by a bunch of soliders and antlions… was that all there was to it?? :wtf:
I’m giving it a “Maybe” because it actually was pretty fun overall, the visuals were good, but the ending sucked. With a bit more work, and an improvement to the ending (maybe wrap a story around it), it would be a better mod.
I found this mod to be a breath of fresh air ! Yes, there were some noticeable flaws, but for me, the pros far outweighed the cons.
From the moment it loads it’s a thinking mans game. The first few areas are a puzzle element in themselves. You have to explore the areas and figure out what to do compared to grabbing up the crowbar and heading down the proverbial corridor. I had to happily backtrack more than once.
– The mapping was quite creative.
– The interior and model texturing was very well done.
– Re-skins a’plenty and they all looked great.( Those grinning drones with the black lips gave me the willies ! )
– Loved the bold use of colors throughout.
– Combat was too light for me and disproportionate to the amount of ammo and health, but I don’t believe it was intended to be the strongest element of this mod.
– Atmosphere was strangely different in a way I can’t quite describe, but worked very well.
I really enjoyed the last map of the mod. It was like a mini-sandbox map giving the freedom to approach it any number of ways. All kinds of routes and cubby-holes. I also accidentally finished early by finding an unintentional shortcut and had to reload to go explore the rest of the area that I’d missed. Just fine with me ! A truly worth while play !
You just drop a barrel into that ” meat grinder ” and a Combine comes out to say hello.
do you feel happy?? I did good little mod, the antlion reskins were great. a bit more would have been nice. plenty of ammo and med kits which goes with plenty of things to shoot. hehe.
wow awsome. the textures were amazing.
nice one, could have used a bit more polishing and a few more levels…
It was alright, given the mod size, I expected the mod to be longer, but it ended very quick.
I also think I glitched the end too, where there was a lava river below a platform and the end, where I just jumped in the river and ran to the end. O.o. I had 3 hp too. haha.
Flaws aside, I thought this was exceptional. The mix of puzzles, appearance, variety, just about everything.
I was however totally confused about how to start the game properly, chose the first ‘data” to load and found out I didn’t load the beginning of the game? THAT discovery was only after finishing, then starting the game again by loading the second appearing ‘data’. Bizarre.
I’d say this was a good attempt at a new conversion. Took a little time to get past the illusionary part in the beginning. Nice wide open maps after that. I didn’t like the ending so much, but it implied maybe that there is more to come. Hope so.
I experienced a crazy glitch with a detachable hand railing in the beginning terminal room. Caused me to fly around the room and through walls.
The people always had this creepy-ass grin.
Played this a while back, probably when it was first posted here to be fair, but never got around to giving it a recommend….Which I do, whole heartedly.
(The thing that prompted me was the MOTY Poll)
Go, Play it Now, it’s well worth it.
I didn’t really like this mod. The creepy smiles on everyone’s unchanging face and the confusion on what was going on annoyed me. Though the modeling and re-skins were pretty good it just wasn’t all that fun to play. Other’s may like it but it just was not my cup of tea.
So is there no way to “WIN” this mod? No matter what else I did, I always got caught in the end after blowing up the building and heading up the chasm even if I blew up the barrel that causes the rock slide before going there.
Correct, you ALWAYS get caught.
Oh…well other than that, it was fun. On to the next!
An enjoyable change of scenery,I enjoyed this mod the gameplay was fairly easy.A few puzzles but nothing that hard.No glitches or slow downs but losing in the end doesn’t sit well with me either.A good effort by students.
I’m stuck in the first area. Well, I guess it would be the second or third room with all the pics (screenshot 33/34). A couple stations tell me I am Happy. I’ve tried to login, and talk to all the other happy cyborgs(?), but I can’t seem to do anything.
Well, once you try the Use key on everything and, therefore, accidentally trigger the next map load, then you can reload and find out why the Use key on *that* thing did something.
In other words, it’s kind of obvious, but maybe not as obvious as it should have been… Maybe if the atmosphere weren’t so bright and happy (I am Happy, aren’t I?)…
This was an interesting, short, well done mod. It did lag for me a couple times–especially at the beginning and end, but it didn’t crash.
I never did get into the building at the end, but I got around without the bridge just fine. (I am not going back into the mod–I had enough “fun” at the beginning, thanks.) I don’t know what happened for me, but the colors for the last map were pretty interesting… Most things were some neon color, even the cranes or whatever the heavy machines are.
I didn’t really like the end, but oh well. After the credits rolled, the antlions/spiders were gone and I could move around, so I grabbed a weapon and spare ammo and killed the Combine or whatever they are (no real HUD, though). I couldn’t really do anything else though, so it didn’t change the ending, but it was fun.
This was a large dload for a short mod, overall it was fun to play. I had some small glitches and lag framerate but that didnt take anything away from it. it did take some thinking (guessing) as to how to proceed in some areas but it was worth the play, a little different take on things which was welcome. I agree some more testing would have polished up some areas but that doesn’t sway me from recommending you giving it a try.
I’m stuck..how do you get from image 64 to 65?
Interesting mod by the way..very well done..have not finished yet but so far it is a “Play It now” for me.
Ok, Finished.in Easy mode…had to noclip through that fence..if I could go “prone” I might have been able to slip under it.
Very nice and different mod, really enjoyed the look. Game play was extreamly easy on “Easy”. Started a new game om “Hard” and wow..it is a bit of a more thought provoking game.
I would love to see more work by these designers!
Having a problem getting this to load. Getting a “SetupArrayProps_R “(null)” is index zero” error. I did try the “Get Mods Working” suggestions for this mod and get the same error. Has anyone got any other suggestions?
This is 2 years later, however for anyone new, if you follow the “get mods working” instructions and change appid in gameinfo.txt to 218, with additional content to 420 and add the recommended searchpaths:
Game |gameinfo_path|.
Game |all_source_engine_paths|sourcetest
Game |all_source_engine_paths|ep2
Game |all_source_engine_paths|episodic
Game |all_source_engine_paths|hl2
then it works ok. At least, it did for me.
This mod is really good in my opinion! It’s got some really cool new models and textures and I like the premise a lot.
The gameplay is mostly really good, too. I don’t like the first area, you have to mess with one screen in specific and none of the others do anything. There’s also one area I had to noclip past. Apart from that, there’s nothing bad I can say about the mod (okay, maybe the ending). The enemy placement is really good and I really enjoyed exploring the dig site. Speaking of, that area had really, really good atmosphere, it reminded me a bit of Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee. The atmosphere in general is pretty fantastic, although I found the smiles the “citizens” had to be funny, not creepy as it’s probably intended.
This is a great mod IMO and I recommend you play it.
