There is no combat is this map, I just thought I’d warn you. There are a few puzzles though.

    Visuals
A “Nice” looking map. I use “nice” because there was nothing outstanding to see.

    Gameplay
Simply puzzles, with little thought as to their implimentation and appropriateness. Two can kill you, one gives you the solution before you start and the second leaves you to panic.

    Layout and Design
Plenty of variety in textures and layout, but some rooms seemed a little “samey”

    Summary
Not the greatest puzzle mod you’ll play but it was well built and kinda fun while it lasted. Only play if you ahve 10 minutes to kill.

    More thought need.

    Play It Now!

If you like a short puzzel game this is a funny little game it’s not to hard.

But I hope this mapper makes a longer and harder map 😉

I though he did, it was on the sight a while ago.

yeah it was called cooldiradical, and it was probally the best hes made so far.

  3. pants

Miigga – actually incredible at naming maps/mods?

  4. Maybe?

looked well, but just boring and partly unlogic puzzles, download worth but don’t expect too much

  5. Maybe?

The first puzzle (or was it the 2nd or 3rd) I only got by trial and error. If there’s a clue someplace, so much for my observational skills.

At times, a flashlight would have been nice, but I guess it wasn’t necessary since I won–it even told me so.

A good puzzle-ish map if you just want to play something for 10 minutes or so.

  6. Play It Later

This was an okay map. I would have liked more in the forest part, given that it’s name was ForestWalk… 🙂

One thing these maps are good for is teaching you to look around very carefully for clues. They ARE there, sometimes obvious and sometimes less so.

  7. Maybe?

I agree with Phil. The puzzles are okay, but there is no storyline, not much gameplay, and no combat. But I got a tip to make this fun. Just take this map on Garry’s Mod, spawn some props and NPCs and make it better! Trust me I did it, and I would change this comment from a “Maybe” to a “Play it later”.

    Maybe?

As the oasis’s song this is a case of “definitely maybe” map, why? well because at least in my opinion I preffer soo much more when miigga gives me combat along with some not kill-fun puzzles to solve, and here I think that miigga is not that great when he just makes a lonley non combat map, I absolutely preffer combat I need action and miigga knows how to ballance puzzles and combat well, also how to make combat interesting dynamic and fun, so I definietely preffer that.

  9. Play It Later

First of all it’s interesting how different tastes and opinions are!
I’m all about the recommendations here as I was just playing my first HL2 custom maps, which is a Miigga marathon as it was the first four maps of Miigga I can find here at PP (http://www.planetphillip.com/?s=miigga), started from the bottom.
So besides that I didn’t like his first three maps much, this one was fun! Excuse me if I can’t describe it more exactly, but sometimes I’m just in the mood for puzzles altho, just as Hec wrote, I NEED ACTION! (usually)
It’s also the atmosphere that was there, yes although there is not much to see or very limited, tight rooms with no obvious exit. Somehow it just fascinated me, okay the first puzzle was frustrating because I didn’t know what to do, using the crowbar on everything that could be broken lol (at least I found the easteregg :P) but then…
The funny thing I mentioned in my first line here is, that most recommendations are something like the opposite I’m giving now (compared to the most recommendations), meaning here I give a “play it now” while most players rate a “maybe?”, but as for the other three maps (“Cooldiradcial”, “Agglutinaatio” and “Coolmission”) my humble person rates a “maybe?” when most of the players give it a “play it later” or even a “play it now” – fascinating! 😛

So if you love puzzles, I guess you’ll like this one, go play it! If you want combat, don’t play it – there is none.

    Pro’s:
-Pretty neat puzzles – some are very easy, some are quite tough (check out almost every corner!)
-Strange, mysterious atmosphere – don’t ask me why
-Good mapping, lot of variation imo – nice level design, but not great

    Con’s:
    -Very short
-Oddities in game design (for example the mine field)
-No story – would be great to weave one around
-Can be frustrating at the first “puzzle” 😉
    -Disappointing end 😛

Note: Hec, your Oasis comment made me laugh, thanks! 😀 To reply with another song which came into my mind after playing this map it’s Roxette’s “It must have been love” xD

  10. Personal Favourite

I love this map. The puzzles are good, the gameplay is quick and it even has a gnome to carry with you to the end. This is a puzzle map with no combat so if you’re not into that this won’t be a map for you but if you like puzzles I would certainly recommend this map! There’s one weird thing about this map and that’s the fact that for a map called “Cool Forest Walk” there’s really not much forest to it. It’s mainly indoors. Miiga got cool right in this map but not really forest. You don’t have a suit (which is fine since there’s no combat) therefore you can’t sprint so you have to walk. Two out of three of the title parts are right. Not much else to say, play it if you like noncombative maps.

  11. Play It Now!

I freaking love Miigga’s work, so it’s no doubt that I would also love this. Well, I did, but as far as Miigga’s mapping goes, this is one of his weaker maps.

This map plays like your average Miigga map, with almost no combat (here there is none) and with a bigger emphasis on puzzles. I love that kind of design, but here the puzzles aren’t made as well. There is your typical “Find a certain small object” kind of puzzle, but then there are puzzles like the mine field one, in which even though you have a map, it’s a pain in the ass to actually navigate it.

Overall, if you like Miigga’s work or you like maps with puzzles in them, then definitely give this one a try. I gave it a PIN rating because apart from its issues, it’s classic Miigga and I had a lot of fun with it.
