CromulentVille 2 – Map Labs Test Tube #7

for Half-Life 2: Episode Two

Another Ville! The Map Labs crew put together another Test Tube (short, several day challenge), and this time it’s a Ville sequel! That’s right, here’s the second CromulentVille, the wacky, weird, sometimes fun challenge!

The original CromulentVille was actually only a 50-hour challenge, and it was the challenge with the most ever number of entries. This sequel was a few days longer, and there are 14 entries and 2 bonus maps this time. Enjoy!

The PTSD Mod 2

PTSD guy returns in this all new epic adventure, full with completely new levels, secrets, weapons and returning characters such as Clockface, BlueASIS and possibly more. PTSD guy’s mental state is rapidly declining after the events of PTSD 1, you must travel on a big journey to find out what is causing this, and put an end to it.

Bear Party: Adventure

Have you ever dreamed of playing as a Care Bear? And getting to murder other Care Bears? Then have I got the mod for you!

Bisounours Party: Adventure is the latest release from Klems, prolific Source modder and overall winner of The Hammer Cup 2017.

Author’s notes:

I have been working on this weird ass source mod for over a year now. It’s mostly complete (some assets needs to be redone, need voice recordings as well), so I’m releasing it now to get feedback. It’s a full singleplayer campaign with 5 maps, fairly long (between 1 to 2 hours), with custom mechanics, weapons and enemies. There’s a few cutscenes and some story, some puzzle and parkour, but it’s mostly a lot of bunnyhopping around and blowing up carebears. Go play it and (hopefully) post feedback here!

The most wonderful time of the year! Halloween is upon us, and that means another scary mapping challenge from Map Labs. This time it’s Halloween Horror II: The Darkness, where mappers were tasked with using light and darkness in a unique way.

The Halloween mapping challenges over the years have been a bit of a mixed bag. But this pack of spooky maps is solid from top to bottom with some real clever maps in there. Buckle up, and embrace the darkness.

Halloween Horror – Map Labs #1

This is where Map Labs all started. Last year’s Halloween Horror, here in time for the spooky season this year.

The mappers were charged with, of course, making a scary or Halloween-themed map. The challenge recieved 7 entries and 1 bonus map. Spooky ones, creepy ones, weird ones. Have fun!

Cosmonaut

You play as a cosmonaut who has had to abandon their space station, but upon arriving back on earth, discover that the place has been overrun by the combine. What happens next? Do you give in to the Combine army, or do you resist and use your skills to find some way of escaping?

Cosmonaut is Dolmo’s greatly expanded and polished version of his entry of the same name for last year’s NostalgiaVille mapping challenge.

This clever Map Labs challenge was a partnership with the great folks at Lambda Generation. Here was the challenge:

Imagine this: Your friend is too lazy to play Half-Life. They tell you that they’d rather experience the games in an abridged form of some kind. A little annoyed, you walk back to your desk and start creating just that.

Take a chapter from any Half-Life game, and make it WAY smaller. That’s the challenge! Half-Life: Abridged.
