This mod crashed on me at least 5 times. Three times in one place ( the last Image) and two more times a little bit later.
AT that point I stopped playing and will not try again. I haven’t given it a Too Buggy recommendation becasue I feel that I know exactly what would have come next if I could have played it.
After finding this mod on Grinder74 (linked in the main post) I was quite excited to play it. The screens look pretty good and it was big enough to make me believe that I had an hour’s worth of gameplay in front of me.
However, I was disappointed because the levels were repetitive, and a mis-mash of styles and layouts. There were too many locked doors and the balance between fighting and exploring was not very good.
I normally notice out-of-place items. For example image 21 shows a fuel truck that has no obvious way of being in that area, and that wasn’t the only time it happened.
The enemies showed great determination to track me down and that was a welcome change from them just standing around waiting for me to come to them.
If you manage to play past the red door where the level changes please take some screenshots and send them to me.
Whilst I can’t complain that the mod is in French, I do feel that there are enough people within the HL2 community that would have translated the text into English and perhaps other languages. I dislike not knowing what I am being told on the screen.
Unless you are a serious Hl2 mod fan I recommend you consider this brief review and hopefully some others before you download, install and play.

Er, which way in, please? Can’t find my way out of the initial setting. All doors are locked and the fence can’t be crossed. Tennis anyone?
look for yellow stairs, bring a box, go up the stairs with it, and drop the box at the edge of the balcony, hop on the box and jump over the combine barrier. that is what I did.
The mod crashed at the 3rd map for me, in the area with zombies and Poison Crabs.
the mod was kinda boring for me….wandering into empty areas, all doors locked, not much exploring to do……and the useless machinegun is now more useless because clips now have 25 bullets instead of the usual 45. It’s very annoying when you have to reload every 5 sec. in a firefight

I knew the stairs were part of it but I just tried to jump off the balcony towards the steel blockade and got no where.
It crashed after trying to load the next map after the poison headcrabs and fast zombies, and I got the HL2 Black Screen of Death with the error message (“HL2 has to shut down now” or some such). Are there any other maps?; or is this the end of the add-on?
Anyway, I thought it was a fairly good one, but nothing special–I say that because I liked the mixture of indoor and outdoor scenes (I really hate add-ons with nothing but dark interiors). There’s definitely room for improvement here, and when the author learns how to make bug-less maps and use more of HL2’s features, he might produce a good one. But I got the feeling that this was his first effort at mapping.
Pretty good map with decent riddles. Too bad it crashed after the scene where you have to throw grenades in the small aperture up the bars next to the breaking stairway.
Having thrown the grenades, you go back to the door in the previous room and get thru, reload some life and take a few steps. Then a new map uploads and that’s where my PC crashed. It’s about map 5 or so.
If I manage to finish, I’ll do some translating. Yeah, I’m all heart.
I have junped a few blockades and found a duct vent at ground level, does this vent lead anywhere?

I might play this at the weekend if only to at least try to dissect some of the French story for you all here.
I think it’s incredibly selfish for us English speakers to be all “gimme gimme gimme” with our expectations for translations. You need some highly skilled linguists to put a decent translation together without compromising the artist’s vision, to expect a bunch of level designers/artists to pull that out of the bag plus the mod itself is a big ask for a first release.
Who knows? Perhaps they will work on an English language translation if their mod proves popular enough with the Francophone fanbase (or otherwise). But to expect them to put together a translation pack, simply because -as a general rule- English speakers are truly a disgrace when it comes to learning foreign languages, is asking too much from a small team like this. Yes, an English translation would allow their work to reach a wider audience, but when you look at the size of the project and the work involved in sourcing a competant bilingual and producing a decent translation, it may not be worth it in the grand scheme of things.
am I got some pics after the point of all of ur crashes but after that point u get out of the door in the red room and the ara somthing like 20-35 enemies and a flying shooting kind of alien that u need to take down with a rocket luncher but the rocket luncher is far away from u and ah….its kind of undeafitble I really didnt manage to deafit it although I deafeated ep2 in 2.5 hrs with only 1 death … so thats kida to hard!and if some 1 would like to see the pics am I dont know how to post them….
Well, damn thing crashes constantly at the upload of map 6 in the red light corridor. I’m bored.
Red light corridor (spoilers).I went to the door that pens a few inches then when I went back it crashed.I loaded the game then went into the corridor with the headcrab zombie killed him and went to the grenade box.If you try and go up the stairs they collapse and another system crash.Throw grenades to blow up the crates through the vent above the bars.You have to blow the crate blocking the door.Then I hugged the walls back around to the door and went through.Thats where I am now.Hope this helps as this is not too bad of a mod.

Sorry about previous post.Now I got to the real red corridor,game crashes on loading.
Tried to load map 6 manually but doesn’t show on the console.So hope someone else has a plan.
Same isssues as the rest of you, crashes at red door, loaded chapter6 manually but without suit very hard to beat.
Outdoor area textures pretty boring and blocky, puzzles were ok but pretty obvious, too many corridors repeating, not really worth the effort in it’s present state.
Too bad, it was quite promising. Maybe a couple of months on the bench for some serious polishing.
While on it, can we have more opponents, a crossbow, a rpg and a hellucopter too?
I hate to admit defeat, but in this case —– I don’t mind! 🙁 I got as far as nige did and quick loaded atleast 10 times!! Oh well I got other things to do (another cup of coffee) I agree with all the other comments, it was going fairly well untill now! I cut my graphics down to bare bones, with no luck!
Thank Cod it crashed! the Mod is so linear that it is almost like playing with all cheats turned on. The crash did me a favour in that another couple of minutes and I would have exited it anyway. I’m not a modder but I can appreciate even the most basic mods but thiis needs some work to be considered worth playing.
I enjoyed it till the ladder bit when it crashed.I’m still trying to figure it out and see if I can correct it but it’s damn hard when you cant read the mini dumps.
Help, I am wanderng around in chapter2 and cant find a way to progress to chapter3.
I’ve uninstalled the mod but if you tell me where you are I’ll try and remember where to go. Which is the nearest image in the ones above to your position?
Wind your way to a fence then jump on the 2 pipes and then over the fence.Then go in the left door and chapter 3 will load.
This seems pretty good from the screenshots but to hear it crashes too much is sad, and after playing it, the level design was pretty bad…. so it was decent, but the crashes is what really made the game fail a bit.

I think I have finished this mod, unfortunately my French is nil, and my English is only about 5 anyway. I crashed just the once at the point mentioned by everyone, having reloaded I progress through this point without any more crashes to Level 6 the last level. This last level is very tough and without meaning to give out spoilers I think the game ends once you down the gunship. If so the end is not very well structured just a caption, but as I said my French is nil. I guess I could repeat the caption here and get it translated

a saved game to get us past the red corridor chapter 6
This starts off very well, with a nicely done City17 street and platform-style barricade jumping.
Things take a dip in map two (and beyond): When the game goes indoors there are several annoying things that could have been easily rectified: The light props, although blaring light, are given the ” off” skin. Cubemaps have not been used (thus reflective objects reflect the outer skybox even indoors). The fake doors down the corridors are cheap and nasty. There is almost a total lack of sound effects (no wind when walking down the street, no nothing).
For some reason the SMG1 ammo has been (annoyingly) reduced to 25 rounds per clip, and shotgun ammo to 5.
The game crashed when loading the last map (chapter 6), but I got round that by loading the map via the console and cheating my weapons back. The last level was deeply frustrating.
Bugs, annoyances and crashes aside I did enjoy Blitzkrieg. Reading this you wouldn’t think so, but I did. So there. The gameplay (last level aside) is decent (reminiscent of HL2’s early Metrocop battles) but this mod could have been much better.
nige, I could try. I will see if I can get chapter6 to reload again or check to see if it was auto saved after loading, either way how do I get it from the game to the site?
mel,in the mod lighthouse Phillip compressed his saved games and put them on his server with a link to it.
This was to help people out when the train wouldn’t leave the station.This may not work in this case as this is a crash not a bug in the game.I tried to load the map from the console like KingDaniel did but no map 6 came up on the list.I see from the posts that Phillip unistalled this and moved on so he may not be willing to do the same with this game especially with the negative comments from the people that finished the game.I have never uploaded to Planet Phillip but he did ask for screen shots on his first post so maybe Phillip will post your save game or it might be time to move on.If this doesn’t go any further I want to thank you anyway for the help.nige
nige, I guess you checked the map file to make sure chapter6 is there?
Phillip, can you help out with nige’s request? I am sure I have the saved point but dont know what to do with it.
mel, I did check the map files and it shows 4 chapter 6 files the same as the other chapters.

The best thing to do and actually what I just did was to load the last map manually. All you need to do is open the console and type map chapter6 then press return/enter. This will start the mod immediately after the red door crash. The bad news is that you won’t have the HEV suit or any weapons. I used thesv_cheats 1 followed by impulse 101 in the console and finished it that way. It would have bee nice to have played it properly but it was still quite fun otherwise.
If that does work I will install it again and create a saved game for you.
Phillip&mel,I tried to load manually by typing in map chapter 6 submit but it didn’t load.This time I clicked on chapter 5 and backspaced and changed the 5 to a 6 and it loaded so I was able to finish the game(just now).
This mod is not too bad to play except for the crashes.Thanks to you both and Planet Phillip for help to finish it.
Hoping in a month to go to the city so I can download some of the bigger mods and comment on them(have a slow poor connection here)

Look it really is a great initiative… You’re not Barney anyway, you’re aided by Barney but still being Gordon. Anyway, this could’ve been better if I had at least known what’s behind the “sewer” level you know, the “red light corridor”. did that, figured out, and it just crashed back to windows when trying to pass them level
I don’t think it’s too buggy, I only encountered the one bug has mentioned by all, this for me worked ok once I reloaded the last save and played again with Chapter6 then auto loading ok. It’s a shame if anyone could not get the last chapter to auto load as it hinges around getting to the rocket launcher and ammo, which is tough. If you go in with Impulse 101 I am not sure you are experience the real end battle.
Anyone who wants any of the dialogue translated I am happy to do so. In fact, if someone posts the text file I can give a rough overview of the story.
Install instructions say copy Blitzkrieg folder into Sourcemods, but when I try to UnRar there is no Blitzkrieg folder.
First things first: Hello all, this is my first post. How do you do?
BlitzKrieg has also been crashing on me, but it’s doing it during the Chapter4 -> Chapter5 transition.
I resupply inside the cargo container, climb down the hole in the ground, and walk toward the end
of the tunnel. I get [Loading…], hear a loop of a footstep, and get kicked out.
When I try to load the Chapter5 map from the console, I get an “info_player_start not found” message.
Anybody else have the same problem?
Well after15 minutes of nothing happening and it running with jerky frame rates I deleted it.
I’d like to say Avoid It because I had a LOT of crashes. Without the crashes, I probably would have given it a Maybe.
I tried using a grenade in one place twice, and it crashed both times. Reloaded again, and no grenade=no crash. Another place I got into a corner and killed the fast zombies, crash. Played it a different way, no crash. It also crashed every time I tried to get past the red door (like, 5 times).
When I tried to manually load Map 5 (I wasn’t sure where I was), I got the “info_player_start not found” message. When I tried to load Map 6 it worked fine, except I was of course weaponless, etc.
Well, the third time through the end (on Easy), I managed to do it without god mode, and using only the weapons I “should” have had…
No, sorry. This will not do at all.
Glitch – Action – Crash – Empty Space, repeat very many times.
Hugely irritating.
To finish this is an act of love or masochism
