You find yourself in what looks like a prison but it’s much more industrial than most. Clearly you need to escape and that is easier said than done.
You get to leave the prison and feel the fresh air on your face but not for too long. Keep the faith as you will eventually see the light of day again, but you might wish you hadn’t.

The Evil normally maps for CS:S but decided to try his hand at some HL2. Th action takes place in a large Combine facility with plenty of walkways and huge drops.
There are possibly more Combine Elite Guards in these two shortish maps than in the whole of the Half-Life series. No, really, I’m serious.

Poll Question 196 – Are canon mods better than non-canon mods?
I was thinking about what Jasper said about Barney dying in Strider Mountain and the whole “canon” thing.
One of the great things about mods is that they are not limited by some of the constraints that games are. Modder can go crazy and let their imagination run wild.

How to make a boring single player mod
It’s become clear that modders are getting very good and are becoming too ambitious. It’s time for me to remind them of the basics.

Poll Question 195 – Do you chat in Steam Friends when you are playing games or mods?
As I was seating on the sofa at 7:20am this morning, laptop on my lap and TV on with Formula One on, I logged into Stem Friends and started to go through my emails.
To my surprise I was messaged by somebody who was in-game. I’m happy to talk to anybody at any time but I have to admit that when people interrupt me when I am playing it’s a little annoying.

Poll Question 194 – Do you think mods target certain players?
On episode 104 of Podcast 17 (which was our 2 year episode birthday!), Dave, the executive Editor of ModDB said something about mods not targeting players in the same way retail games do. I immediately made a note in my diary because it is an interesting comment.

Final Project Diary
A story of a modder making a mod sounds a little strange, but that’s what this mod is. However, you spend 95% of your time playing, so don’t worry it’s not just narration or a tutorial.
Please the scenarios you are given and see if you can make it into the sunset.
