I’ve probably posted more of Miigga’s maps on PP than anybody else.
Well, I finally managed to arrange an interview with him and here it is.
We chat about his mapping, his maps, his map names and even why there seem to be so many mappers from Finland!
Hope you enjoy it.
If you have any questions of your own, please post them as comments and hopefully he will be able to answer them for you.

It was pretty fun to be interviewed.
And yeah, if people have questions for me, I’d be happy to answer them.
I think i’ll start my own, Miigga-thon: several days dedicated only to play cool Miigga maps.
Oh and I do have a very important question for you Miigga, will u ever do a propper complete mod, longer than just one map?? and with a propper theme and story-plot???
Like I said in the interview, I am currently working on a project that is intended to be a proper multiple-map mod. Won’t really have a storyline, though.
You start off in some sort of a port and then you eventually go underground. Contains various puzzles and combat, like always.
Oh cool, I know its going to be pretty good!!, thanks 4 answer!
About lots of mappers coming from Finland, this reminds me of three other people that I know of. They’re from Finland, and they like to build stuff for AvP2.
So yeah, Finland and mapping – there does seem to be a connection ๐
Nice interview!
When it comes to entertainment Miigga is my second favourite Finn, sorry but Tarja Turunen is my favourite!
If I see a single player map by Miigga I have to play it as I have not seen a duff one yet from him, but I need to know what’s the thing with watermelons?
I get the impression that Miigga is a bit of a rebel when it comes to putting a map together, the end result being his idea without pandering to what others have done before.
Miigga, keep them coming, I’m ready.
Hum, can’t remember if I ever read his name in a mod’s readme or somewhere else related to games, so what are the most popular maps / mods besides Aether?
Sorry I can’t (didn’t) listen to the interview yet..
You can find all my SP maps by searching “Miigga” on this website.

The coolprisonescapes and the coolforestwalk aren’t that good, but the rest should be pretty good.
Ah cool, besides my guess the link from you works, I thought there could be some filter issues hehe..
However, there are only HL2 mods I see there. You maybe think “so what?” now, but I’m a HL1 gamer usually, I only recently bought the Orange Box and played HL2 and the episodes first time this year hehe, finally having a new PC.
So the only HL2 mod I’ve have yet was “A Venetian Welcome” and I even didn’t reviewed it yet here, BUT I will start playing quite many HL2 mods now as I finished PP’s HL1 mod list now, so yours will be definitely reviewed from me then ๐
Question: No HL1 mods from you? If so, it’s clear that I didn’t heard from you yet ๐
I haven’t made HL1 mods. In fact, I don’t even have HL1.
Righty right! Then, just as I said I’ll start to play (Miigga’s) HL2 mods then, it’s cool to have a legit HL2 incl. Episode 1+2 with Steam ๐
Thanx for answering that quick, some maps of Miigga already look neat and interesting from the screenies!
BTW, I do know some Finnish mappers like Yucca and the author of “Scientist Slaughterhouse” (as mentioned by Petrick above) ๐
All his maps are for Half-Life 2: Episode Two.
Nice to find more mappers from Finland. I just remember AU-Heppa, Niki “Denix Linelli” Ruusunko (Scientist Slaughterhouse is still funny) and J.Kivilinna.
off-topic: Miikka, tuolla http://hlfi.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1482 ollaan juteltu suomalaisesta Half-Life tuotannosta ๐
I know lots of (good) mappers from Finland as I am:
Miigga, Yucca, Tursikas, Zuntti, Sota-Poika, and much more…
And every map in this mod is made by finnish mapper:

(And by the way Miigga, Dragory doesn’t map much anymore)
By the way, if anyone is interested, these are the screenshots of my first map ever: (excluding the one where I just followed a tutorial for making a “first map”)

Looking at it now is hilarious
You are not supposed to talk about the Finnish Wikipedia with outsiders
