Put aside any technical reasons for this not working and suspend your belief. Just imagine this:A multiplayer league where each team is made up of characters and weapons from other FPS games and each team has home and away rounds.For example the starting league could look something like this:
- Quake 3
- UT
- UT2004
- Red Faction 2
- Alien Vs Predator 2
- Kiss Psycho circus
- Breed
- Terminator 3
- Halo
- Serious Sam: The Second Encounter
- Star Trek Elite Force 2
- Star Wars: Jedi Knight 2 Outcast.
Some of the rules:
Quake 3 home matches are played on Q3 maps UT on UT maps etc.
The rounds consist of uneven matches with one map being completely new to the away team.
Q3 weapons can only be collected by the Q3 and UT weapons by the UT team.
The right to compete as a team could be decided by another single game league I.E. the winner of the Q3 only league gets to play in the multigame league.
I started thinking about this when I saw the poll on GameSpy Title Fight
They had Half-life Vs Unreal Tournament. I think comparisons like this are lacking in imagination, why compare an SP game with a multiplayer game? At least make the comparison worthwhile.
I chose the above games because they are all Sci-fi and I thought that UT2004 vs. CS would be pointless.
