I had this absolutely crazy idea yesterday. I was reading the comments on the Underrated FPS games post and Blue Lightening wrote “It

Escape by Leo Ringfor Half-Life
“All you can remember in a fuzzy haze is everything going wrong in the test chamber. You remember getting out and overhearing a transmission saying some soldiers have come in and are killing everyone and that some scientists and security guards have got hold of a hanger and a plane. They are waiting for more people to come. You then walked on and you can remember a big explosion and the roof caving in then nothing…………”

The Core is a single player modification for Half-Life. The player assumes the role of Maurice Andrews, a high level engineer stationed in the deep central complex of Black Mesa.
Set 2 days after the resonance cascade disaster, Maurice finds himself waking up in a make-shift infirmary, somewhere within the high security labs. He is then sent on a mission to find an assist a group of staff who are fighting their way to the surface.

Your Favourite Underrated FPS Games
We all have our favourite games outside of the Half-Life series and after reading Blue Lightning’s introduction comment, which included a reference to an underrated FPS game, I thought it might be nice if we had a special place to do that.
I would like to you name the game, tell us a little about and then why you liked it. Would be good if you could link to the Steam page for the game but it’s not compulsory.
Don’t forget to use the new HEADING button in the comments section.
I’ll start….

Half-Life: Lambda Core
In this chapter, Gordon arrives at the Lambda Complex, where he believed the science team to be sheltering from the Xenians, only to find that the majority of the complex is now overrun by hostile creatures. He is informed that he must flood the reactor chambers in order to access the core, and that a team of scientists is waiting for him at the tip of the reactor.

July 2012 – General Chat
So, what’s this post all about?
Well, there’s no where for readers to just “chew the fat” (“rag” if you are American), “shoot the breeze” or “Hurl the headcrab” (yes, I just made that up).
No where for them to chat about general topics.

Introduce Yourself
Hello and Welcome to the site.
Please look around and if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
We are a friendly bunch here and welcome new players and visitors with open arms.
Many sites have a forum thread for new visitors (and old) to introduce themselves and make the leap from viewer to commenter – this is that thread.

Fodderstompf DoorVillefor Half-Life 2: Episode Two
Here is a map that was made for the DoorVille competition but has only just been sent to me.
It starts in the train station of City 17 and takes you on a slightly different route.
The first part is pretty hard but a fun challenge nevertheless.
Apparently, there was much more but the author felt it was not up to the same quality and was cut.

Music Comp?
Would anybody be interested in entering a TREE music competition?
I would choose a section of Half-Life, Opposing Force and Blue Shift and ask entrants to create a new piece of music for it.
Thoughts?
