One Room, Bone Room, Two Rooms.
Following a proven pattern (not including the Half-Life: Alyx One Room challenge), Map Labs has unpredictably expanded to Three Rooms with this Test Tube competition! The entrants were technically limited to three rooms, but there’s also some trickery at work in some of the maps here. Enjoy the 21 entries!

Born on the forums of TWHL, here comes another collaboration pack – this time on the Source engine! Mappers were restricted to a small footprint for their map, as if each map were a floor in a tower. A full 3 years in the making, here is the result of a lot of hard work from both new and experienced Source mappers.

Look at that! Valve just dropped a big Half-Life update on the eve of its 25-year anniversary. So, let’s check out how it plays!
I’ll stream Half-Life at the usual time (12 noon Saturday eastern US time / 5pm in the UK / 6pm Central Europe).

This release combines two Map Labs Test Tubes (short challenges). Unfortunately, one of them only received one entry so it was combined with the larger Test Tube.
A Place in the West, as the title suggests, simply asked authors to build a map based on the popular comic Half-Life: A Place in the West, which depicts life in America under the Combine.
The Wrap-Up Two! – much in the vein of The Wrap-Up! – allowed mappers to choose any previous Map Labs theme and enter. Finish an abandoned project, remaster a previous map, or make a brand new map; all were acceptable as long as the map fit one of the Map Labs themes. Nine maps were submitted.
