  1. Mel
    Think Twice

good game/good balance and game play/bit short/texture a bit vivid in places/maps a bit basic.

  2. Maybe?

I agree with mel. I would add that the game starts quietly, then suddenly the action starts – good intense first battle, not easy.

  3. Play It Later

Challenging yet fun but pretty short. Only downfall is that it may be hard to navigate to your next objective.

  4. I’ve added 9 screenshots kindly supplied by piledriver.

  5. Maybe?

Some short maps with the typical HL story.
(ATTENTION: it sounded that it is a mappack, meaning more than one part, so please bear with me cause I’ve only played this part!)

    Pro’s:
    -Some pretty good leveldesign
    -Good HL feeling
    -Few puzzles
    -Lot of ammo, health

    Con’s:
    -Very short
    -Weird combat, meaning enemy placement
    -A bit too less combat
    -Too easy

  6. Think Twice

Old, very basic and simple little mappack, Bugged ai (thanks to some Hl1 patches?), theres few friendly Vorts that wont hurt you. Easy one too, usually you die because you fail with explosives.

But then again, it was pure shooter, didnt include any useless puzzles that makes your hair go grey or anything. And none of those “take this NPC to place x stuff”. It was just “Take all these weapons and ammo and go kill things”

  7. Think Twice

In spite of its short length, Gamestar takes a moment to get going. In fact, of the six maps included, three of them feature no action at all. When the action does kick off, it’s restricted to incredibly tight, maze-like hallways. These are not terribly interesting to look at and it makes it fairly difficult to use the high volume of explosive weapons you are provided with.

The level transitions are a little fiddly, especially when concerning elevators. It seems to only work when you are pressed right against the back wall. On top of all this, the player does not have any clearly defined objective throughout and the abrupt ending left me feeling largely unsatisfied.

Overall, Gamestar is a short, meandering experience with very little direction.

  8. Think Twice

Not off to a good start, ugh. WHY include the config? It’s annoying to have fix it all up.

It’s weird seeing a wooden door slide open instead of swing open. No glass in the doors either, looks awkward. Lol, can see gman looking thru absent window in door. Very easy to jump through to follow him, these doors are so janky.

I like how Petr has his own spin on each well trodden area like the locker room and the suit room. You can peak under the closed toilet door and see the toilet bowl only goes up 1/10th of the way?? Did they really need to scrimp for frames that much :S

I love getting longjump early like this! It makes for some awesome bhopping.YES, no fade to black if you crowbar the scientists! Cya later, nerds. Oof, really misaligned crate texture, this map sure is janky.Second crowbar here too though that might just be set dressing.

Ok, on this next map there are glass doors which means Petr knows how to make them work so why are the doors in the first map missing glass? Why does the elevator lead to a warzone?? Forced fall damage on a level change is gross. Location is not beliveable, very game-y.

    Your mission was sucesfull

  9. Think Twice

Wired design for me, but I got my HL feeling

  10. Maybe?

Welcome to black mesa, we arrived in chopper landing area, got inside the mountain wth some scientists doing whatever they want. Then we got to a second chopper area, then come back, and got to some sort of maze with a lot of iron door which seems to be a prison. That prison do not seem to be far away from the labs according to the location and military are quite close to scientist labs. Boxy level.
