I started with low expectations and finished almost pleasantly surprised. It’s definitely not the worse map you will play this year but it’s not detailed enough. Invisible walls spoil the exploring and as image 6 shows, empty areas completely ruin the atmosphere.
I like the author’s idea of keeping the story and setting simple and can definitely see potential in him.
When I talk about detail I mean the barriers in image 1, are not very good at all and the streets just don’t have the realism I have come to expect.
The layout and flow were fine in my opinion, it just needs more work to make it visually special.
I don’t know if I missed something but I had to noclip to get the author’s name on the screen.
All in all, not bad, but let’s not get too excited just because we have something to play!.
For his next map, I want to see a similar overall concept but I feel it should be made in Episode Two and look much better.
The Maybe RI is for the 3 stars.
The mapping is not bad at all. I didn’t get any invisible walls, perhaps I couldn’t see them 😀
It’s not a must play.
If a must play is dinner, then this is a shortbread biscuit taken with afternoon tea.
If you don’t play, you haven’t missed much.
If you do play, you’ll have a little bit of fun.
to use a short different picture like Jasper did, this is the perfect shower to start correctly a gaming day 🙂
I installed it in hl2 maps and got a can’t read text file.
I put it in hl2 ep2 maps and it worked fine.Other maps work o.k. in hl2
go figure.
It should be something like steamapps//half life 2/hl2/maps, materials, etc.
I tried download from mod database and planet phillip they both don’t work in hl2.I get an application error instruction at an address and referenced mem at another address can’t read and a crash minidump in the hl2 folder.
The mod works in hl2 ep2 and I finished it.I have not updated steam in about a year maybe this has something to do with it?
How is that possible? I thought you could only use Steam offline for a few weeks maximum.
I turned off the check for updates in the account and so far the games
still play. When steam did an update years ago I thought I read in the changes they did away with having to connect every few weeks.I’m still a member of good standing with steam everything is legit.with my steam games.
That’s cool. I bet thousands of users wish they had checked that box!
giving it a Think Twice because there really isn’t much here, I do like the fact that the “friendly” combine does jump from the wall down with you but I never used anything other than the crowbar for bashing heads
I have uploaded and linked to a new updated file. There are more maps in there, some playable, some not.
Having played them all I feel no need to change my recommendation image.
I played map 1 in HL2 and EP2. Cleared map 1 and found no suit and a second map did not trigger. Something’s wrong. I can’t imagine that you’re supposed to load the maps manually.
Cheap and lacking, but still playable environment. Some minor bugs, although not game-breaking.
Enemies have laser aim, though.
