Useless single-room-kill-scientists (LAN party members) map, pffffff!
When the author describes his map as being made for his own “evil pleasure”, you begin to wonder what’s in store. I was in a Virgin store today picking up the new Logical Progression CD and as I was passing through the computer games section I noticed one particular title. The box practically ignored every feature [as well as trying to hide the abysmal graphics] except for one, presumably the sole selling point: you get the opportunity to slaughter bunny rabbits and other cute, fluffy creatures.
What relevance has this to the review, then? Well, put it this way: if that game appeals to you then Southeastern LAN Party will certainly be your cup of tea. You’re presented with a large room filled with scientists and weaponry and are then left to your own devices. Erm… and that’s it.
The map would be quite good fun for two minutes but for a couple of things: firstly, the ridiculous size of the download. 2.2 megabytes for one sodding room? Please… Secondly, there’s the r_speeds. To give you some idea of how consistently bad they are, expect roughly one-third of the performance you got in the Valve’s levels. These two factors combine to make what would otherwise have been a brief but fun orgy of violence into one that’s probably best avoided.

Fixed, thanks.
A simple and rather unattractive scientist killbox type affair. I doubt it would really mean a lot to anyone besides the people who attended this particular LAN centre.

I assume this is modeled after a real lan in which case it’s a bit interesting. If it’s not too much of a pain extracting the map it’s worth the minute of fun you get out of blowing up a bunch of scientists. Definitely use impulse 101.

Welcome to party. Scientist hates you. The gaurds in the lobby hate you, the PC, has only hateress written all about. There’s a hidden marines in the back room spying on the party, he hates you. So what do we now? We do revenge before they find a weapon and kill us. It’s recommended that we strike in the first place. Unless you want to their prey, you have only 3 minutes to make an unprevented strike. Good luck with the mission Gordon.
