The Work Area

for Half-Life

24th April 2015

You must escape your work area.

Apparently, you’ve always worked in the basement, so you don’t really know what to expect on the higher levels.

They might even have secret doors for all you know.

  1. Phillip says Avoid It!

I dislike giving AVOID IT! recommendations but I can’t say anything else. It’s just terrible. Most of the time I spent looking for what to do and I had to cheat to get the later screenshots.

The corridors are exactly the same width as the doors, the HEV and crowbar is behind a wall that is a door, the map has gaps to see out of and it’s more than likely broken.

Do yourself a favour and trust me this time.

  2. Avoid It!

I’m sorry I have to say this, but this map was terrible. First of all, the idea of having certain walls as doors is just stupid. I remember Wolfenstein 3D which had that feature, but then there was a hint to let you know, like a picture or something. Here, it’s just guessing. I didn’t beat this map, and I really don’t care about the ending.

    Avoid It!

Just an awful map, very boxy, enemy balance was totally unfair, and those fake walls as doors were a pain in the arse”!

Yeah this is not worthy, play it only if you play everything available.

  4. Avoid It!

This map is unbeatable. There is no way to progress after getting the keycard. I noclipped around trying to find a solution, but there wasn’t any. Might as well mark this map as “Endless” instead of “Very Short”.

The elevator section of the map is useless, imagine creating a whole new path just to show g-man.

There are no health pickups or armor pickups in this map.

The grunts cannot shoot you in the “fan of death” part. I walked into it twice without getting killed. The kill zone is apparently at the button which turns off the “fan of death”.

Why is the HEV suit hidden behind the wall? What’s the purpose other than making the map frustrating and not fun? If that is the purpose, then that explains the army of vortigaunts behind the red gate.

  5. Avoid It!

Terrible, who thought that hiding the HEV suit behind a wall was a good idea? Yes, games like Wolfenstein or Doom have done it before, but never to something that you NEED to progress and they always had some kind of clue… but anyway, the map is short, and confusing, I had to use noclip because I thought I was stuck, but it seems that the map is just unfinished and there’s not much to do, avoid

  6. Didn’t even take me a while to realize this game was bad. The intro sucked, because being stuck in the dark with barely any light sources are just horrible ways to start a game. and then the vortigaunts after you get out of that section? That’s just too overpowered. AVOID IT!

  7. Avoid It!

i forgot to put a ranking, but just avoid it
