Guide to completing the mod

This is a detailed description of how to get to the end of the mod. It lists the movements and actions to be performed in each area in order to progress, while leaving out gameplay- and scenery-related details as far as possible to avoid spoilers. 9 out of 10 people will probably get past each point with no trouble, but most people will probably get stuck at some point, so don't be afraid to come here when you can't seem to get any further :)

CARGO TERMINAL

You begin in the employee's entrance hall of the cargo terminal. Go downstairs into the storage area and go through the door marked "Storage area 2".

STORAGE AREA 2

Proceed around the corridor, and go into the white storage room on the right. Go to the scientist, then leave the room and continue to the end of the corridor. When the surviving scientist runs, use one of the working blast doors to trap the gargantua while the scientist escapes. Get the HEV suit and weapons from the secure room then take the cargo lift back to the cargo terminal.

CARGO TERMINAL

Go back upstairs to the control room. Break one of the windows and climb down to the floor of the train's tunnel. Go through the small doorway to the left, and break the ventilation cover at the back of the room to give access to the shafts.

COOLANT AREA 1

Jump into the reservoir and climb out the other side. Go right and find the power button at the back of the small engineering room. Go back to the reservoir and go to the fence. Shoot the explosive box through the gap at the right. Go through the gateway and continue to coolant area 2.

COOLANT AREA 2

Go along the walkway and destroy the explosive crate to drive away the gargantua. Press the three switches on the giant pumping tower, then swim back to the start of the walkway. Press the switch on the main panel to pump out the water. Go through the water inlet in the left wall, open the hatch at the end, then break the ventilation cover in the floor above. Save the scientist to receive the crossbow. Rescue Dr Ho in the next room and he will open the secure door leading to the helipad

HELIPAD

Proceed until you enter the vehicle access corridor. Go left to trigger the gargantua, then right to the outside. Clear the area then wait for the tank to be destroyed. (You can now go back past the gargantua's hole to get the P904). Continue until you reach a security door, then use boxes to get into the vents.

TRANSPORT TUNNELS

Break the window and shoot the door's button. Wait a few seconds then run to the tunnel entrence at the far side of the yard. Go through the tunnels until you find the security card (on the desk beside the stereo). Touch the card, then leave the tunnels. Use tripmines and satchel charges to kill the gargantuas (some more of each should still be available at the end of the tunnel, because there are too many to carry there) then go back through the vents you entered through.

HELIPAD

The security door can now be opened. Lead the scientist to the drinks machine then smash the vent cover for some snarks. Continue to the station.

TRAIN STATION

Smash through the boxes. Run to the far side of the car park, then run back and go through the gate when Barney opens it. Go up in the lift, then activate the lever in the control room in the station to raise the barrier. Enter the train at the far end.

TRAIN TUNNEL

Walk near the scientist when he has finished talking. The first salvo will smash the barrier into the rest of the train. Get to the front of the train and shoot down the apache with the RPG.

SPARE GENERATOR

Get onto the platform and damage the barricade. Continue into the generator complex. Go left in the main corridor, climb onto the upper walkway and press the button beside the ceiling turret. Climb down onto the floor and 'use' the crystal. Go back along the corridor and into the first room on the left. Press the button near the window to open the generator access. Continue along the corridor and take the branch on the left. Climb to the top of the generator and 'use' the empty crystal holder, the press the Big Red Button on the computer panel. Fall into the Xen-like hole, then smash the vent cover in the ceiling (near the crystal holder).

FUEL STORAGE

Press the button in the far-right corner of the tunnels, then shoot the button on the ceiling above the generator room door (it's beside the turret). Go into Room 101 and wait near Barney until he runs to the doors (if the HEV scientist gets in the way, push him past Barney). When the alarm sounds, leave. Back in the main tunnel, break the vent cover behind the vending machine.

HANGAR

Break throught the vent covers. Smash the broken door switch, then smash the button in the security booth. At the far end of the hangar, break the glass restraining the translucent cube then 'use' the cube on the pedestal. Follow the translucent cube then 'use' the cube on the nearby pedestal. After a few seconds, you can open the hangar doors. Run to the HEV scientists then fight. Then there are two options:

ROUTE A:

Use the moveable box to get onto the pipes and open the valve. Climb down the pipes, making sure you have the long-jump pack first. Break the vent cover at the far end of the pipe and longjump towards the hole and climb in.

GIGANT BLASTER LAB

Shoot the switch above to pump in more water, then climb out at the top. Continue to the control room, press the Big Red Button when the cover lifts off it, then wait for the security door to be opened. Move to the end of the damaged area.

XEN CANYONS

Make your way to the area where the toothed cylinder is floating, and press the button on the pedestal on the right to summon a disc. Get on and press the button again to fly into the cylinder. Destroy the eye then get on the next disc. Teleport, destroy the various eyes then use the new teleporter.

XEN TOWER

Climb the tower and take the green crystal. Run very fast back to the start. Swim down the new hole. Smash the cover on the enclosed teleporter at the bottom and teleport.

XEN HIVE

Run into the next room and 'use' the empty crystal holder on the far side of the pedestal. Climb onto the waiting disc on the pedestal. Kill the monster, then take the new tunnel. Kill everything then take the new moving platform onto the upper level. Move around the upper walkway, longjump onto the second walkway and press the button at the far end. Go back down to the floor, press the button on each of the four pillars and hit the miniature monster that is revealed on each. Teleport.

XEN ISLAND

Fight. Rapid fire weapons or the magnum are useful. If you fall off the edge, get to the centre of the cube to return. Afterwards, use the glowing area underneath to reach into the teleporter.

ROUTE B:

Use the door switch to go back into the hangar. Run to the right-hand end and activate the new translucent cube. Follow it then 'use' the cube on the nearby pedestal. Enter the teleporter then press the button.

SHIP'S HANGAR

Move through the ship. Just after the prisons, you will see a large structure with green cylinders on it. Destroy the cylinders, then enter the lift at the end of the room. The lower button operates the doors, the upper button starts the lift.

SHIP'S PRISON

Beware of the ceiling-mounted defences. To get past the laser cannon, shoot the upper wall behind it with an explosive. Smash the consoles to shut down the prisons and 'use' the prisoners to get them to follow you. Lead them to the armoured door and stand back. Take the lift down and smash the second set of green pillars at the bottom. Smash the console in the war room then continue through the doorway.

SHIP'S CANNON

Get onto the upper level and clear the room. Run back towards the lift until the cannon is destroyed. Smash the third set of green pillars in the cannon and go through the doorway at the far end of the upper walkway.

SHIP'S CORE

Fight. Afterwards, go to the centre of the room.

CRASH SITE

Fetch the crowbar and shotgun from the dead HEV scientist to one side. Break through the damaged wall. Continue to the crashed rocket site, and move to in front of the ruined tank. Afterwards, run back to the enemy science consoles and wait for the teleporter to activate.
